LOS ANGELES -- Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling agreed Wednesday to sign off on selling the team he has owned for 33 years to former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer for $2 billion, bringing the possibility of a resolution to weeks of rumours, uncertainty and looming possibilities for legal action. Bryant Reeves Grizzlies Jersey . The agreement hadnt been officially signed Wednesday afternoon, according to an individual with knowledge of the negotiations who wasnt authorized to discuss them publicly. But Donald Sterlings attorney, Maxwell Blecher, said he "has made an agreement with the NBA to resolve all their differences." Sterling gave his consent to a deal that was negotiated by his wife, Shelly Sterling, to sell the team, Blecher said. Representatives for Shelly Sterling and the NBA declined to comment. The agreement was an about face for Donald Sterling, who just last week filed a $1 billion suit against the NBA in federal court alleging the league violated his constitutional rights by relying on information from an "illegal" recording that publicized racist remarks he made to a girlfriend. It also said the league committed a breach of contract by fining Sterling $2.5 million and that it violated antitrust laws by trying to force a sale. Blecher said that as a result of the agreement, the federal suit will now be dismissed. Sterlings comments to V. Stiviano included telling her to not bring black people to Clippers games, specifically mentioning Hall of Famer Magic Johnson. They resulted in a storm of outrage from the public and players and even prompted President Barack Obama to comment on what he called Sterlings "incredibly offensive racist statements." NBA Commissioner Adam Silver ultimately decided to ban Donald Sterling for life and began efforts to force Sterling to sell the team. For weeks, Donald Sterling said through his attorneys that he would fight the NBAs decisions to try to force his ouster as a team owner. But last week Shelly Sterling utilized her authority as sole trustee of The Sterling Family Trust, which owns the Clippers, to take bids for the team and ultimately negotiate a deal with Ballmer. Ballmer beat out bids by Guggenheim Partners and a group including former NBA All-Star Grant Hill. Ballmer made more than an hour-long personal visit to Shelly Sterlings Malibu home last week and laid out his plan. If the NBA owners approve the sale, it will be a record-high sum for a team that cost Donald Sterling about $12 million in 1981. Blechers co-counsel, Bobby Samini, said the vote by league owners is expected to take place in mid-July. This is not Ballmers first foray into potential NBA ownership. Ballmer and investor Chris Hansen headed a group that agreed to a deal to buy the Kings from the Maloof family in January 2013 with the intention of moving the team to Seattle, where the SuperSonics played until 2008. But Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson lobbied the NBA for time to put together a bid to keep the team in California, and though the Ballmer-Hansen group later increased its offer, owners voted to deny the bid for relocation and the Kings were sold to Vivek Ranadive. Marc Gasol Grizzlies Jersey . James scored 25 points against his former team, leading the energized Heat to a 114-107 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday night. Dwyane Wade added 24 points and Chris Bosh had 22 for the Heat, idle since a 90-84 loss Tuesday at Indiana. Mike Bibby Grizzlies Jersey . -- Theres been so much talk about Mike Moustakas at the plate that the third baseman ignored the conversation Wednesday -- even after doing something positive. http://www.grizzliesbasketballpro.com/Brandan-Wright-Grizzlies-Jersey/ . So what happens? Stevenson lands a huge left to Dawsons temple only 76 seconds into the opening round and walks away with the championship belt. "I said Id knock him out," said Stevenson (21-1).MIAMI -- A rare power surge from a pair of veterans lifted the Miami Marlins to their latest victory. Placido Polanco homered for the first time in more than a year and Jeff Mathis hit his first since last August, helping the Marlins overcome a three-run deficit in a 5-3 win over the Minnesota Twins on Wednesday. "That just shows you when you start playing better and guys continue to gain confidence, you have a lot of different contributors," Marlins manager Mike Redmond said. "We saw that today out of a couple of guys whove been kind of quiet." Miami is 13-9 this month and is ensured of a winning record in June following a 14-41 start. Still, the Marlins 27-50 record is the poorest in the major leagues. "Right now, guys are playing with a lot of confidence and having fun," said Marlins starter Tom Koehler, who allowed three runs in four innings. With the Marlins trailing 3-0, Mathis hit a two-run homer in the fifth off Scott Diamond (5-7). Just 5 for 52 (.096) this season entering the at-bat, Mathis had not homered since Aug. 24 for Toronto against Baltimores Matt Lindstrom. "I knew he was throwing a lot of fastballs and he was around the zone," Mathis said. "I was just trying to get a pitch up and put a good swing on it." Kevin Slowey (3-6), who pitched three scoreless innings, singled and scored the tying run on Giancarlo Stantons groundout. Slowey earned the win in his first appearance against his former team where he played from 2007-11. Logan Morrisons leadoff single in the sixth chased Diamond, and Polanco sent a 354-foot drive off Ryan Pressly just over the left-field wall. He had gone 350 consecutive at-bats without a home run since hitting one off Los Angeles Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw on June 4 last year. "That is one of the most professional hitters youll see," Twins manager Rod Gardenhire said of Polanco. "Weve faced him a lot of different years with a lot of different teams and hes always been a good contact guy. He puts the bat on the ball. As you saw he can drive one too. Vince Carter Jersey. Hes good in those situations." Pressly, who made his major league debut this year, had not allowed a home run in his previous 23 big league games. Mike Dunn and Steve Cishek followed Slowey with an inning each of perfect relief. Cishek retired the Twins in order in the ninth for the second straight game and earned his 14th save in 16 chances. Joe Mauer had three hits for Minnesota, which has lost four of five. Minnesota took a 3-0 lead in the first off Koehler when Mauer and Josh Willingham hit consecutive run-scoring singles and Oswaldo Arcia followed with an RBI groundout. "You jump out like that with three runs quick and you think, Oh here we go and nothing happened after that," Gardenhire said. "We couldnt put them away. We had men out there. We needed another big hit early to put them away at least open the lead up and maybe have one of those kind of games, but to their credit, they kept battling back." Diamond gave up four runs and eight hits in five innings. He said he needed to do better and pitch deeper into the game. "Its not helping anybody. Its not helping my team, its not helping the defence, and Im getting sick of it," he said. NOTES: Miami has allowed three runs or fewer in 10 consecutive games, going 7-3. ... Diamonds single in the sixth was only the second in 33 at-bats for Minnesota pitchers in the last two seasons. ... Mauer has a .429 (12 for 28) average against the Marlins. ... Marlins top prospect OF Christian Yelich will play for Team USA in the 2013 All-Star Futures Game. Minnesota prospects OF Byron Buxton (Team USA) and 3B Miguel Sano (World Team) have also been selected to play in the game. ... Minnesota will return home for a four-game series against Kansas City beginning on Thursday and will send RHP Samuel Deduno (3-2, 3.72 ERA) to the mound against RHP Jeremy Guthrie (7-5, 4.20 ERA). Miami has a day off before a four-game series against San Diego. RHP Ricky Nolasco (4-7, 3.68 ERA) is Fridays scheduled starter.
