Smith declined medical attention. His vehicle sustained significant damage to the front and undercarriage, and the light pole was left broken on the sidewalk. "We are aware of the situation involving Sean Smith. Whenever one of our players is involved in an incident like this it is disappointing," the Chiefs said in a statement to The Associated Press. He started all but one game at cornerback, making 47 stops and two interceptions while helping the Chiefs go 11-5 and reach the playoffs. Smith is expected to start at cornerback again this season.
