Zack Rosenblatt of NJ.com reports the Eagles are “likely” benching left guard Stefen Wisniewski and replacing him with 2016 third-round pick Isaac Seumalo.NBC Sports Philadelphia’s Dave Zangaro was first to report that Seumalo was receiving first-team reps in practice this week. The Eagles’ offensive line has failed to adequately protect Carson Wentz since he returned to the lineup in Week 3. Wentz has been sacked six times and hit 18 times in his last two starts. Wisniewski has hardly been the only issue with the Eagles’ protection but he’s certainly struggled to the struggles. He’s allowed six total pressures this season Rodney McLeod Jersey , according to Pro Football Focus. Wis ranks 32nd out of 56 guards in PFF’s pass blocking metric. Seumalo, as we know Authentic Lane Johnson Jersey , originally began the 2017 season as the Eagles’ undisputed starter at left guard. After struggling in his first two starts, however Youth Nelson Agholor Jersey , Seumalo was benched for an odd rotation of Chance Warmack and Wisniewski. Wis clearly outperformed Warmack and eventually took over as the full-time starter. He held on to that job through the Eagles’ Super Bowl run and up until now. During training camp this year, Eagles offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland said the 24-year-old Seumalo was the team’s most improved lineman. We’ll soon see if that hype was warranted as Seumalo enters the lineup against a tough Vikings front on Sunday.
