Now the Jacksonville cornerback can crow about something else.Ramsey was the overwhelming choice as the NFL's top cornerback by a panel of 10 football writers for The Associated Press. The All-Pro received eight first-place votes in balloting released Friday."Big talent and a big mouth http://www.losangelesramsteamonline.com/todd-gurley-ii-jersey ," wrote New York-based lead NFL writer Barry Wilner. "Still, the guy can cover, isn't afraid to hit, and likes to match up with the top receivers."Marcus Peters of the Los Angeles Rams, last year's top choice, was second and had the other two first-place votes, followed by Arizona's Patrick Peterson. After helping the Jaguars reach the AFC championship game before losing to New England last season, Ramsey made headlines with his mouth.First, he ripped Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen as "trash" and called Atlanta's Matt Ryan overrated in the same interview with GQ magazine . It was released a few days after he was suspended during training camp for screaming obscenities at reporters who were videotaping a post-practice altercation between defensive ends Dante Fowler and Yannick Ngakoue. It wasn't the only time Ramsey was in the news in August. The third-year pro also dismissed four-time All-Pro tight end Rob Gronkowski of New England by telling ESPN The Magazine, "I don't think Gronk is as great as people say he is."Two weeks into this season, Ramsey said he would hit his grandmother if she were on the opposing team, along with other family members, while discussing his respect for the game. Asked if he really would hit his grandma, he said he "definitely would.""Ramsey talks a big game http://www.losangelesramsteamonline.com/cooper-kupp-jersey , but he backs it up with smart, physical play on the back end of arguably the league's top defense," wrote Dennis Waszak, another New York-based AP Football Writer. The Rams acquired Peters in the offseason after he intercepted 19 passes in three seasons with Kansas City. He was suspended for a game late last season by the Chiefs for throwing a penalty flag into the stands. The 25-year-old returned an interception 50 yards for a touchdown in a season-opening win over Oakland. Peters has been battling a calf injury."He's tough enough in coverage that he sometimes has to peel off to go pick off his own interceptions," wrote Tennessee-based AP Football Writer Teresa Walker.Peterson has at least one interception in each of his eight seasons with Arizona. At the moment, it appears he will be a bright spot on a bad team with the Cardinals among three winless clubs. Peterson was second to Peters in a close vote last year."For sheer talent, Peterson is the best all-around cornerback in the game," Wilner wrote. "He gets little action in Arizona as the Cardinals struggle to get someone to clamp down the other side of the field."Minnesota's Xavier Rhodes was fourth, followed by Casey Hayward of the Los Angeles Chargers. Ramsey teammate A.J. Bouye was sixth, and Detroit's Darius Slay was seventh.Chris Harris Jr., of Denver was eighth, one spot ahead of former teammate Aqib Talib, who is now with the Rams. Marshon Lattimore of New Orleans, last year's NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year after intercepting five passes Jared Goff Jersey Elite , wrapped up the top 10.The rankings:1. Jalen Ramsey, Jacksonville2. Marcus Peters, LA Rams3. Patrick Peterson, Arizona4. Xavier Rhodes, Minnesota5. Casey Hayward, LA Chargers6. A.J. Bouye, Jacksonville7. Darius Slay, Detroit8. Chris Harris Jr., Denver9. Aqib Talib, LA Rams10. Marshon Lattimore, New Orleans Another week, another massive win for the undefeated Los Angeles Rams. The Rams have now improved their record to 7-0, three of which came from divisional opponents. After the dominating performance, let’s revisit the matchups to watch and see how they fared:CB Marcus Peters vs WR Marquise GoodwinLast week’s matchup to watch:Marquise Goodwin was invisible all throughout the game with two catches for 24 yards coming in garbage time. Outside of that http://www.losangelesramsteamonline.com/jared-goff-jersey , the only targets I recall to Goodwin were an overthrown pass in the endzone when Troy Hill was in coverage and a Troy Hill interception. All in all, the Rams secondary did a fantastic job keeping the speedster in front of them.ILB’s Mark Barron/Cory Littleton vs TE George KittleLast week’s matchup to watch:Even though Barron and Littleton had fantastic days, it wasn’t because of their coverage against Kittle. Kittle had five receptions for 98 yards and a touchdown. Kittle proved to be a thorn in the Rams side but ultimately it was for naught as the Rams were simply too good everywhere else. Barron had a tremendous read on a screen with a great tackle, though he also had a missed tackle in a gap on a run early in the game that resulted in a big gain. As for Littleton, well, he continues to impress. One sack, another blocked punt, and a stuffed screen of his own later and we’re talking about how much of a steal Littleton is to this defense.DT Aaron Donald vs QB C.J. BeathardLast week’s matchup to watch:I thought I was going to be correct here with Donald racking up his third sack, but I was wrong. Donald actually worked his way to a new career high of FOUR sacks in this game. He was simply unstoppable. Your 2017 defensive player of the year is now up to eight sacks on the season after doubling his season total today.Rams ILB’s vs FB Kyle JuszczykLast week’s matchup to watch:Juszczyk had one single carry for -4 yards on a tackle-for-loss from Aaron Donald. Not only that, but he only registered two receptions for 18 yards. The linebackers did a solid job limiting an underrated weapon for the 49ers’ offense. The front-seven as a whole did a spectacular job stuffing the run too.OG’s Rodger Saffold/Austin Blythe vs DT DeForest BucknerLast week’s matchup to watch:The dynamic duo (and all the offensive lineman for that matter) get a major win today in my books. Buckner is a dangerous interior pass rusher who has 4.5 sacks on the season and none of those came against the Rams today. The offensive line only allowed two sacks on the day and generally gave QB Jared Goff great pockets to operate from.WR Robert Woods vs CB Richard ShermanLast week’s matchup to watch:Well, Richard Sherman was inactive for this game so his presence can’t be analysed, but Woods had another terrific game as every time he was targeted he was typically uncovered. Outside of one drop near the flat for Woods, he had a great day registering five receptions for 78 yards and leading the Rams’ offense in both categories. The Rams once again found a way for all three phases of the team to chip in and contribute to the relatively simple win.The test will get harder as the Rams get one of the leagues best (read: best) quarterbacks in the league in Aaron Rodgers in week eight.
