A trip he’d taken countless times before. What made this one different, is that it would be his last.Suzuki arrived in America in 2001, joining the Angels division rival Seattle Mariners for the prime of his MLB career. He swept the league by storm, winning both AL Rookie of the Year and AL MVP along the way.Yes, he was a rival, but any true fan of baseball could see they were witnessing greatness. And uniqueness. Whether he was stretching in right field between batters or running down the first base line beating out a single, Ichiro was fun to watch. Ok Darryl Strawberry Jersey , he could be infuriating to watch as an Angels fan. At his peak, he’d hit the ball straight down off of home plate and be almost to first by the time an infielder caught it. It was indefensible, it extended innings and created runs, it was maddening as an opposing fan. But it was also beautiful in its simplicity. A reminder that in baseball you don’t have to be a giant to be effective. Perhaps the most amazing part of his career was the incredible arm. A guy his size having a cannon like that seemed unreal. Here is his most iconic throw. So, as Ichiro departs the game, he leaves as a rival well respected. A man who played the game the right way, who brought new waves of fans to the game and who departed with an exit fit for a legend. Please share some stories about times you saw Ichiro play below. Joe Robbins/Getty ImagesAs always seems to be the case, Tuesday'sMLB trade deadline has a handful of bigger-name players we want to keep an eye on.Perhaps they're on a losing team looking to garner assets or they're in the last year of their deal and the team wants to get something for them before they walk away for free. Here, we're going to take a look at a couple of players in particular that present some notable buzz in pitchers Matt Harvey and Kyle Gibson of the Cincinnati Reds and Minnesota Twins, respectively. Twins Fielding Calls on GibsonAcross 21 games started http://www.metsfanproshop.com/authentic-tim-tebow-jersey , Minnesota Twins starting pitcher Kyle Gibson has a 3.42 ERA, and hecould be seen as a rare commodity to have for contenders looking to bolster their rotations.According to Joel Sherman of theNew York Post, the Twins have received calls on Gibson. However, Gibson isn't a free agent until after 2019, and Sherman reported the Twins are more focused on trading walk-year players such as second basemanBrian Dozier and pitchers Zach Duke, Lance Lynn and Ervin Santana.Though that is their goal at six games under .500 (48-54), they could probably get a decent haul for Gibson.Teams like the Philadelphia Phillies, the Athletics and the Atlanta Braves could all be interested in his services.Brewers Target the Dark KnightAs we've mentioned here already, this is the time of year that contending ball clubs want to improve their rotations.According to Jon Morosi of MLB Network, the Brewers and Cincinnati Reds have had trade talks about the once-great New York Mets pitcher Matt Harvey:Jon Morosi jonmorosiSource: Matt Harvey trade talks quot;ongoingquot; between #Brewers and #Reds. MLB MLBNetworkWith the Reds Nolan Ryan Jersey , Harvey is 5-4 with a 4.50 ERA and 6.8 strikeouts per nine innings pitched.Prior to gettingshelled by the Pittsburgh Pirates in his last start, Harvey went five straight games giving up two earned runs or fewer in his outings. In a trade for Harvey, it would be hard to imagine the Brewers needing to give up anything of notable interest, and it could be worth the gamble. He is not the player he was a few years ago, but if he can help out the bottom of their rotation, Harvey would be a valuable addition.Statistics courtesy ofBaseball-ReferenceandESPN.com.
