2019 Los Angeles Rams Regular Season2019 Antworten

Let’s see where things stand roster-wise as camp begins..." Los Angeles Rams Preseason2019 Los Angeles Rams Training CampPre-training camp 2019 Los Angeles Rams depth chart review John Sullivan Jersey , 53-man roster projectionNew,27commentsLet’s see where things stand roster-wise as camp begins...CDTTraining camp is here!As we kick things off, I’m updating my 2019 Los Angeles Rams 53-man roster projection.Position parentheticals denote the number of players at the position that make the 53-man. Rookies and undrafted rookies are also noted in parentheses.Previous projectionsApril 29, post-2019 NFL DraftJune 13, post-minicampQB (2)In: Jared Goff, Blake BortlesOut: Brandon Allen, John WolfordChanges from last projection: N/AEager to see how Bortles looks as a backup. No real roster battle except between Allen and Wolford for QB3.RB (4)In: Todd Gurley, Darrell Henderson (rookie), Malcolm Brown, John KellyOut: Justin Davis, Matt Colburn (UDFA)Changes from last projection: N/AGurley/Henderson. Brown. Kelly/Davis. This one’s very interesting heading toward the preseason to see the non-Gurley running backs in action.WR (6)In: Brandin Cooks,Robert Woods, Cooper Kupp, Josh Reynolds, KhaDarel Hodge, JoJo NatsonOut: Mike Thomas, Austin Proehl, Alex Bachman (UDFA), Nsimba Webster (UDFA), WR Johnathan Lloyd (UDFA)Changes from last projection: N/AThis one could be in flux at the back. Hodge is far from a lock while Natson could get challenged as a returner.TE/FB (3)In: Gerald Everett, Tyler Higbee Cory Littleton Jersey , Keenen Brown (UDFA)Out: Johnny Mundt, Romello Brooker (UDFA), Kendall Blanton (UDFA)Changes from last projection: N/AI’ve got Brown as the only rookie undrafted free agent making the cut, but that’s mostly on special teams work. Blocking will be of significant value among the depth with Everett and Higbee offering sufficient receiving duties.OL (9)In: Andrew Whitworth, Rob Havenstein, Joseph Noteboom, Brian Allen, Austin Blythe, Bobby Evans (rookie), David Edwards (rookie), Jamil Demby, Aaron NearyOut: Jeremiah Kolone, Chandler Brewer (UDFA), Vitas Hrynkiewicz (UDFA), Brandon Hitner (UDFA), Matt Kaskey (UDFA)Changes from last projection: N/AWhat might be most interesting is thinking about the practice squad here. I could see the Rams keeping three OL on the squad to start the year.DL (5)In: Aaron Donald, Michael Brockers, Sebastian Joseph-Day, John Franklin-Myers, Greg Gaines (rookie)Out: Tanzel Smart, Bryant Jones (UDFA) Nickell Robey-Coleman Jersey , Marquise Copeland (UDFA), Boogie Roberts (UDFA)No longer on roster: Tyrell Thompson (UDFA)Could be interesting to see the rotation in the middle. With Donald, Brockers and Franklin-Myers, we’re already well stocked at 3-4 DE. That nose position could offer a chance for some depth to shine.LB (9)In: Clay Matthews, Micah Kiser, Cory Littleton, Samson Ebukam, Dante Fowler, Jr., Ogbonnia Okoronkwo, Morgan Fox, Dakota Allen (rookie), Bryce HagerOut: Justin Lawler, Trevon Young, Troy Reeder (UDFA), Natrez Patrick (UDFA), Josh Carraway, Landis Durham (UDFA)Changes from last projection: N/AROSTER BATTLE!!!CB (6)In: Marcus Peters, Aqib Talib, Nickell Robey-Coleman, David Long (rookie) Andrew Whitworth Jersey , Troy Hill, Dominique HatfieldOut: Kevin Peterson, Darious Williams, Donte Deayon, Ramon RichardsChanges from last projection: N/AThis one could also offer intrigue among the depth especially with special teams implications.S (6)In: John Johnson III, Eric Weddle, Taylor Rapp (rookie), Marqui Christian, Nick Scott (rookie), Travin HowardOut: Steven ParkerChanges from last projection: N/ANot sure if Howard is truly part of this group, but perhaps we’ll get a sense of that over the next week. In any case, it’s a very, very nice trio at the top of the depth chart.ST (3)In: Greg Zuerlein, Johnny Hekker, Jake McQuaideOut: N/ABack in the saddle.

No changes, but the only personnel move we had since minicamp was the release of Thompson. The more important thing was just to set my projection now to see if camp changes things among the depth over the next week. Leggo! After a flurry of trades, the Rams added some compelling pieces to the roster. But did all of their needs get addressed?"It wasn’t the most conventional draft for the Los Angeles Rams, but quality players were added to the team. Before all of these picks came to fruition, the team’s most notable roster gaps were secondary, linebackers, offensive line and defensive line. So Robert Woods Jersey , defense. How did the Rams strengthen their needs and what remains as a hole to fix later?SecondaryWhoever was pushing for help with the defensive backs in the Rams’ war room certainly slept well last night. With the departure of S Lamarcus Joyner, the Rams were in a position to fix that issue with the addition of S Eric Weddle and now Washington Huskies S Taylor Rapp. What’s fantastic about this pick is that Rapp can tackle and hit with precision. Oh, and they picked S Nick Scott from Penn State in the seventh-round.Michigan’s CB David Long was selected with the 79th overall pick; the Rams are getting a classic press-man defender that is great in coverage. He will be a welcome addition to the depth at the cornerback position competing with guys like CB Troy Hill and CB Darious Williams early on. I like this pick a lot and feel like it really provides some fundamental talent to that position.Running BackWith the 70th pick in the third round, the Rams selected RB Darrell Henderson out of Memphis instantly adding a talent running back going into training camp to post alongside RB Todd Gurley. Perhaps Rams Head Coach Sean McVay sees Henderson as a player that can function in the offense like RB Lance Dunbar was supposed to. A lot has been said about this pick already, but it does fill a need that the team evidently has, like it or not. Offensive LineMan, the Rams must be in love with OL Joseph Noteboom and OL Brian Allen. While the team added some solid offensive line players through the draft in Oklahoma’s OL Bobby Evans, who isn’t a finished product as of now, and OT David Edwards out of Wisconsin in the fifth-round, it wasn’t the splash that some expected. The Rams could luck out with Evans, but he’s not a plug-and-play player which the team could need with an injury from any of their starters.Defensive LineDT Greg Gaines could be a steal in the fourth-round which the Rams pretty much need with the loss of DT Ndamukong Suh. Those are big shoes to fill and it’d be extremely unfair to ask Gaines to be Suh in his rookie season. So, yeah... the D line still has some question marks.LinebackerBefore you try to say that the Rams didn’t do anything to address the loss of ILB Mark Barron, don’t forget that they selected LB Dakota Allen with the 251st pick. Allen, out of Texas Tech, is more of a scrappy special teams dude in the mold of LB Bryce Hager. All in all, the Rams put their focus on the secondary, which is hard to argue with. They traded down to get more picks while sacrificing a first-round pick. They improved on run defense on the second level and upgraded their pass defense. And what kind of a needs to the Rams still have? Easy. Depth at offensive line and pass rushers. We’re still miles away from training camp, and the front office isn’t done establishing the depth of this team. But we just saw a big effort to fix the secondary and that’s a pretty positive start.
