Starting pitcher Jason Jarvis got knocked around for nine runs in the third inning on Wednesday, as the Goldeyes (4-3) were thumped 18-5 by the Laredo Lemurs (4-3) before 1,909 fans at Uni-Trade Stadium. The barrage chased Jarvis from the game after 2 2/3 innings. The Goldeyes tried to claw back with two runs in the fourth and two more in the fifth on a two-RBI single from second baseman Jake Blackwood. However, Laredo scored singles in the fifth and sixth innings, two more in the seventh and five runs in the eighth. Winnipegs only other run came in the seventh inning when third baseman Ryan Pineda led off with a triple and then scored on a ground out by catcher Jordan Guida. The Goldeyes committed six errors in the game, which tied a team record from 2002 and led to four Laredo runs. Winnipegs pitching staff issued a season-high seven walks.
