The Chargers and Titans put on a show for the fans in London today.Los Angeles won 20-19 as Tennessee scored what appeared to be an overtime-clinching touchdown in the final 30 seconds of the fourth quarter. But the Titans decided to go for two and weren’t successful Derrick Henry Jersey , even after a Chargers penalty moved the conversion attempt to the 1-yard line. When Chargers receiver Keenan Allen recovered the ensuing onside kick, it clinched the win.It was an exciting game that the Chargers led most of the way, but the Titans wouldn’t quit. Titans running back Dion Lewis in particular had a big game, with 91 rushing yards and 64 receiving yards. The Chargers didn’t have Melvin Gordon but didn’t miss him much, as Philip Rivers was excellent throwing the ball, completing 19 of 26 passes for 306 yards, with two touchdowns and no interceptions.Los Angeles is now 5-2 and a legitimate playoff contender. The Titans are 3-4 and will move out of first place in the AFC South. Titans left tackle Taylor Lewan said he was sticking up for a teammate. Washington cornerback Josh Norman saw it differently. On the topic of Saturday’s post-game dust-up — when Lewan came to the sideline and mocked Norman’s bow-and-arrow routine before Norman bowed up to a much larger man — Norman shared his thoughts Wednesday.“Why would you come to another man’s sideline?” Norman said Kevin Byard Jersey , via Peter Hailey of . “You go out your way to come to his bench, his sideline, to go at him in that kind of way. Maximum disrespect. Ultimate disrespect. We’re not having that, I don’t care who we play for or what we do. We will not tolerate disrespect.”Lewan said he got in Norman’s airspace because he thought he was trying to hurt running back Derrick Henrry. Norman said he and Henry spoke after the game and things were cool.Lewan, however, he is not cool with. Despite giving up 7 inches and 125 pounds, Norman threw his helmet and got in the face of the tackle.“What he should’ve been worried about and what he should’ve been relevant about is his quarterback Adam Humphries Jersey ,” Norman said. “Because our line ran through him like water through rocks. I mean, gosh, you would think he would’ve been doing a better job protecting him. . . .“You come up to someone else’s sideline like he did, I don’t care how big you are. You can be a giant. You step into that domain, it’s kill or be killed. That’s how I look at it. I don’t take disrespect lightly.”Then again, he could just be frustrated playing for a team that’s circling the drain again.
For Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans who have been following the plethora of team focused podcasts out in the world http://www.buccaneerslockerroom.com/authentic-kendell-beckwith-jersey , picking your favorites is hard to do.In the pool of content creators there are long-time media members, fringe media, former players, and fans of the team simply looking to get their thoughts out there for everyone to hear. One such podcast is The PewterCast, hosted and created by Brent Allen. Two years ago he brought on current co-host Ren Daxt, and the show has only expanded into more content and improved technology ever since.Every year for the last three seasons, Brent and Ren have been holding their annual awards ceremony where the nominees are determined by a secret panel spanning all levels of influence, and the winners are determined by the fans themselves.Of the awards, Brent had this to say,You may have noticed recently that SB Nation has decided to get into the podcasting world, and Bucs Nation has been represented strongly by several members on the staff beginning this endeavor. However, none of those were around long enough to garner a nomination. One show that did earn a nomination and subsequently a win in the ‘Podcast of the Year’ category was the Locked on Bucs podcast hosted by Bucs Nation staff members, James Yarcho and David Harrison. This was the show’s first ‘Pewtie’ and second-year being nominated in the category.James and David have been with Locked on Bucs since the middle of the 2017 season, and continue to churn out relevant content with four episodes per week during the off-season and five in-season.No doubt Vernon Hargreaves III Jersey , helping along the way are the regular appearances by Carmen Vitali of Buccaneers.com and players like Chris Godwin and O.J. Howard. The best part of the show according to the two hosts however, are the voicemails submitted by listeners giving their thoughts on the shows content and asking the questions ever Bucs fan wants to know the answers to.Both were humbled by the win, and agree with Brent that while the trophy is cool, the fact it was the listeners themselves who decided it, is the real prize.Check out all of their work on the Locked on Podcast network, and we look forward to seeing our resident Bucs Nation podcasts on the nomination list in 2020!Other categories included the traditional slate of team awards, but also more media focused ones for fans’ favorite guest of The PewterCast during 2018.If you didn’t catch The PewterCast Awards, you can download it or watch it on YouTube, now. We highly recommend the YouTube option. This is not an April Fool’s Day joke. This is not an April Fool’s Day joke.We repeat: This is not an April Fool’s Day joke. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are seeking “millions of dollars” in compensation from BP Exploration & Production for the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill. The Buccaneers’ effort to recover these significant amounts came to light in a court order filed Friday by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. The court order denies an effort by the Buccaneers to seal the courtroom for oral arguments regarding an appeal of whatever amount the Bucs did or didn’t receive from a lower court. In ruling against the team, the appeals court made it clear that the team’s efforts to ensure secrecy go well beyond the boundaries of the role of the inherently public court system. The Buccaneers argued that, among other things, “private spite” on the part of BP, the promotion of “public scandal,” and harm to the team’s “competitive standing.”The Buccaneers also claim that they have an “expectation of secrecy” in the process of having their claim approved and paid. The court rejected that approach by pointing again to the public nature of the judicial system M.J. Stewart Jersey White , and by chiding the Buccaneers for trying so hard to conceal information from public view.“The court will leave it to others to guess why the team is so concerned about public disclosure of its claim when numerous other BP claimants in the appeals inundating our court are not,” Judge Gregg J. Costa writes in the five-page order. “Just three months into this year, at least ten Deepwater Horizon decisions naming the claimants have issued. Among them is one from another of Tampa Bay’s professional sports franchises, the NHL’s Lightning. . . . The court is unable to discern any reason for keeping secret the oil-spill claim of a football team when the claim of a hockey team (and of course those of numerous other businesses) is a public matter.”Thus, the court concluded that the Buccaneers “should not able to benefit from this public resource while treating it like a private tribunal when there is no good reason to do so,” adding that “the public will be able to access the courtroom it pays for.”Contacted for comment on the situation, the Buccaneers provided this statement to PFT: “As per our usual team policy, we do not comment regarding ongoing litigation matters.”Although the Buccaneers apparently will be able to keep their financial information secret, the outcome won’t be. At some point, the amount to be paid by BP to the Buccaneers will be known, along with the reasoning for doing so.
Could Patrick Mahomes come back to earth against the 49ers? No doubt about it Brock Coyle Jersey , Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has been nothing short of dynamic in his first two starts. With each of his 10 touchdown passes going by it makes more and more sense why the Chiefs cut bait with long-time starter Alex Smith and shipped him off to Washington. Just one problem, Mahomes is good, but teams didn’t have much film on him. Yet. Remember when I suggested Garoppolo could get some growing pains? Well the same can be said for Mahomes. This is a common trait all quarterbacks got through, they start out lighting up the opposing defenses, then as time goes on the league gets wind of their heroics and puts a stop to things. Exhibit A: Troy Smith. Remember him? He had a decent game against the Denver Broncos in England. So decent then-49ers head coach Mike Singletary decided to go with Troy Smith over Alex Smith. The decision led to a quarterback carousel, ending with Smith going to the UFL and Singletary getting fired. He had two games with a QB rating around 115 before the 49ers went scoreless in a home game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Exhibit B: Austin Davis. Davis played so well in a sample size for the then-St. Louis Rams that people were calling him the second coming of Tom Brady. Davis came back to earth shortly thereafter and was yanked after fumbling the ball and throwing picks later into the season. He had six games with an average passer rating of 95.8before turning in the clunkers that would lead to his benching. Exhibit C: Jimmy Garoppolo. For the first two weeks, he hasn’t exactly looked the same as he was in 2017. Garoppolo is in no way a bad quarterback. At least not yet. However, some tendencies are revealing themselves that may become nasty if left unchecked. His game against Minnesota was uncharacteristic, ditto for his outing against the Detroit Lions where it looked like sack city. Have they figured him out? Possibly. Not much you can do when Marquise Goodwin is injured and in the Lions’ case, your receivers are being blanketed in grabby coverage. It’s extremely rare for a quarterback to not face some sort of growing pains once a defense gets their hands on them. It’s how those quarterbacks adjust. Drew Brees is an excellent example of someone who had to grow into the role, and now he’s headed to Canton once his career is done. So sure, Mahomes has looked good now Y.A. Tittle Jersey White , but what happens when teams get film on him? Sherman called out something similar to Jimmy Garoppolo. Minuscule yes, but it’s the same idea. As time goes on, the books get built on quarterbacks, and if Mahomes continues on this high level play through the entire season especially in his second year within the league, well, then we can wonder why the 49ers didn’t draft him. Some quarterbacks take longer than others, but defenses will adjust. Three games may be too much of a sample size, but this is where the film starts getting broken down. Could the 49ers visit to KC be the game where Patrick Mahomes comes back to earth? The NFL trade deadline is creeping up and we’ve already heard about discussions being regarding San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Pierre Gar莽on. It looks like you can add Jimmie Ward to the mix. SI.com’s Alfred Breer reports there have been discussions on the 49ers cornerback, but not much else:According to Chris Biderman, Ward didn’t know his name was being used in trade talks until reporters asked him about it. following the 49ers’ 18-15 loss to the Arizona Cardinals when asked if he had a chance to solidify himself: I don’t see a Ward deal getting done. The 49ers are thin in the secondary and Ward is playing out the final year on his contract. Jaquiski Tartt was injured during the Cardinals game and replaced by Antone Exum who later followed with an injury of his own to the head. A trade partner is getting Ward’s rights and an eight-game rental with the possibility of Ward leaving in free agency, which would take his price down just a bit. I doubt his salary is much of a concern at this point as it is just the timing and the future. But the discussions are happening. If Ward were offloaded I don’t see anything besides a fifth-round pick at best for him.
CHICAGO (AP) — Even Stanford coach Tara VanDerveer grew concerned while the Cardinal kept missing its shots — over and over again. Not Alanna Smith and company. They figured they would find a way at the end.Smith and Stanford outlasted Missouri State for a 55-46 victory on Saturday in the NCAA Tournament Marquise Blair Seattle Seahawks Jersey , sending the cold-shooting Cardinal back to the Elite Eight for the third time in four years.Stanford shot a season-low 25 percent (17 for 68) in its second-lowest scoring game. But Smith and Anna Wilson supplied just enough offense, and the Cardinal used its superior length to hold the 11th-seeded Lady Bears to 25.4 percent shooting (16 for 63), also a season low for the last double-digit seed left in March.“I think the feeling on the team was we weren’t worried,” said Smith, who finished with 13 points. “We know that we can hit down those shots, and we weren’t today, so we had to go to something else.”VanDerveer seemed to get a kick out of Smith’s confidence.“I don’t know what game she was at,” VanDerveer cracked. “I mean, wow. We just — we tried a lot of different things. We tried a lot of different people, and we struggled.”Next up for No. 2 seed Stanford (31-4) is defending national champion Notre Dame on Monday in the Chicago Regional final. The Fighting Irish advanced with an 87-80 victory over Texas A&M.“We know it will be a big challenge, but I have a lot of confidence in our team,” VanDerveer said. “We know we’ll have to play better.”Danielle Gitzen had 14 points and eight rebounds for Missouri State, which had won seven in a row. Jasmine Franklin finished with 11 points and 10 boards. It was Missouri State’s first appearance in the Sweet 16 since Jackie Stiles led the Missouri Valley Conference team to the Final Four in 2001.Stiles, an assistant coach on Kellie Harper’s staff who remains the school’s career leading scorer with 3,393 points, could only watch this time around as the Lady Bears (25-10) struggled offensively. Alexa Willard, who averaged 18.5 points in Missouri State’s first two wins in the NCAA tourney, finished with two points on 1-for-11 shooting.“Stanford is a great team, and they’re very long, and I think that it definitely was disruptive having their long arms and getting into passes Cheap Marquise Blair Jersey ,” Gitzen said, “but I think also we got good looks. We just couldn’t hit them at the end of the day.”The Lady Bears closed to 38-35 on Gitzen’s jumper with 1:04 left in the third quarter. But the Cardinal responded with an 11-1 run.Shannon Coffee started the key sequence with a 3-pointer, one of just three treys in 29 attempts on the day for Stanford. Wilson closed it out with two foul shots and a layup with 5:27 left.Wilson, the younger sister of Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, scored seven of her 11 points in the second half. Russell Wilson and his wife, singer Ciara, took in the action from a pair of seats behind the Stanford bench.“My defense is kind of my thing, so if I can score some points, that’s nice, too,” Anna Wilson said. “So I think for me, I just wanna play as hard as I can and continue playing.”BIG PICTUREMissouri State: Gitzen is the only senior on the Lady Bears’ roster, so they could be even better next season. But Harper, a Tennessee alum, could be in the mix for the opening at her alma mater.“We weren’t going to come in here and back down,” Harper said. “Somebody was going to have to beat us. Stanford beat us. They had to work hard to do it.”Stanford: Wilson led a solid effort by Stanford’s reserves. Coffee finished with seven points, and Lexie Hull had seven points and nine rebounds.UP NEXTStanford takes on the top-seeded Irish on Monday. As it turns out, process of elimination is how we’ll reportedly get the Bengals as the season opener. The Bengals’ first Sunday has to be on the road due to the MLB’s Reds being home that afternoon. Jay Morrison, Cincinnati Bengals reporter for The Athletic, did the legwork and revealed these were the only options for Cincy’s first matchup.Since that tweet, it’s been reported that the Browns will host the Tennessee Titans, the Dolphins as mentioned already are going to play the Ravens, and the Bills are going to be at the New York Jets. By default, this means it’ll be Bengals at Seahawks, likely at 1:05 PM PT on CBS.The Seahawks haven’t had a home opener since the 2016 season, when they beat the Miami Dolphins by a final score of 12-10. After a 6-10 campaign, Cincinnati finally moved on from Marvin Lewis and have former Los Angeles Rams assistant Zac Taylor in charge. The last time the Bengals played the Seahawks back in 2015, they rallied past Seattle 27-24 in overtime after the Seahawks blew a 24-7 lead. They are one of two teams that Seattle has never beaten under Russell Wilson. You can find out the full Seahawks’ schedule at 5 PM PT.
The 2018 NFL free agency period has been hectic Nick Bosa Jersey , and we haven’t even got to the Draft yet, but already most of the big names have been signed, and it’s got us looking forward to the 2018 season with a lot of excitement. However, not everything is going to work out for all of these players. Some QBs signed long-awaited big money deals, some players got released and signed unexpectedly, and other big names were traded away, and it’s been quite hard to keep up with, but now that’s all cooled off, we are going to look ahead a season, and try and predict some things.Succeeding and failing is definitely unique to each individual situation, whether it be a high-profile star leaving for a division rival, or whether it’s a young, up and coming player looking to break out with a new team. Sometimes that will happen, others it won’t Christian Wilkins Jersey , so today we are going to take a look at 8 players who will succeed with their new team in 2018, and 7 that will unfortunately fail. LOS ANGELES — Clayton Kershaw’s comeback from a third back injury in three years will continue Thursday afternoon when he faces the Chicago Cubs in the finale of a four-game series.
It is the last time the Dodgers and Cubs will meet in the regular season, but as the last two National League Championship Series have shown, a high-profile series in October is a possibility.
Thursday’s afternoon game at Dodger Stadium is also the end of a jammed-packed run that will see the Cubs and Dodgers face each other for the seventh time in 10 days. Each team has beaten the other three times after the Dodgers earned a 7-5 victory Wednesday.
Kershaw (1-4, 2.94 ERA) has already had two disabled list stints this season. He missed nearly four weeks in May with left biceps tendinitis, and after only five innings of his return from that injury, he hit the DL again with a lower back strain.
In his return Saturday at New York against the Mets, Kershaw gave up two runs on five hits over three innings, as he was held to 55 pitches. He was supposed to have a minor league rehab start that day, but a poor weather forecast for their Triple-A Oklahoma team led the Dodgers to shift gears.
While Kershaw is expected to get more leeway Thursday, he still figures to be on a pitch restriction that manager Dave Roberts will determine.
“I feel 100 percent,” Kershaw told ESPN this week. “It’s just a matter of building up pitch-count wise and just make sure we’re getting to that 110-, 120-pitch count limit.”
Kershaw is 5-3 with a 2.64 ERA in nine career starts against the Cubs.
Kershaw will square off against fellow left-hander Jose Quintana (6-6, 4.26) on Thursday. Quintana has not thrown 100 pitches in any of his last six starts and has completed six innings once in four June starts.
The Cubs have scored 14 runs in two nights after hitting coach Chili Davis held a meeting with the offense. And while the improved offense was much needed, the Cubs are 1-1 in those two games since the meeting.
Now comes a matchup with Kershaw, who is never a pushover, whether he is coming off an injury or not.
“I’m still looking forward to, as we get more mature in the batter’s box, that we chase less,” Cubs manager Joe Maddon said. “I like homers just like everybody else does, but there are so many other ways to score. Industry-wide, that’s probably everybody’s biggest problem. I want power and I want that little dumper to the right side.”
For the Dodgers, it has been all about power in June. They hit three more home runs Wednesday and now have 51 in June, two short of the club record for a single month.
Joc Pederson, Max Muncy and Cody Bellinger hit home runs Wednesday. Pederson has a major league-leading 10 home runs in June, Muncy has nine and Bellinger has eight.
The Cubs are 1-6 on their eight-game road trip to Cincinnati and L.A. and are 3-9 in regular-season games at Dodger Stadium since the start of 2015.

You can’t let guys get in behind you 3-on-3 or they’re going to score. That’s it.”Sean Walker and Drew Doughty also scored for the Kings. Jonathan Quick had 22 saves and earned his 299th career win. He has 17 wins in 24 career games against the Avalanche.Nathan MacKinnon and Carl Soderberg scored for Colorado, which lost its fifth straight. With an extra attacker on the ice in place of their goalie, the Avalanche evened the score at 2-2 at 18:40 of the third period on a goal by Soderberg. Tyson Barrie’s shot from the point went off Soderberg’s skate and into the net past Quick. The outcome for Colorado mirrored its overtime loss Saturday to Chicago.“It’s unfortunate because it’s so quick — bang, bang — in overtime,” Erik Johnson said after Colorado fell to 1-8 in overtime games this season. “We clawed our way back so hard, it’s tough to swallow. It was looking like we weren’t going to come up with anything, so we need those two points. We’ll take the single one right now, but it certainly stinks not to get that extra one.”Trailing 2-0 Josh Morrissey Jersey , the Avalanche cut the deficit in half when MacKinnon finished a 2-on-1 break with a shot from in front that beat Quick. Rantanen set him up with a cross-ice pass that allowed MacKinnon to flick the puck over Quick’s glove.Walker, who had an apparent first-period goal negated by a goalie interference call, extended the Kings’ lead with a wraparound shot that got past Varlamov at 12:58 of the second period. It was the first NHL goal for Walker, who got the inside edge on Rantanen and stuffed the puck into the net through a narrow opening before Varlamov could get to the side and close it.“It was a roller coaster,” Walker said. “Pretty high and then pretty low. And then luckily, I got the other one. You want to get your first one out of the way.”With the Kings on the power play, Doughty opened the scoring with a slap shot from the top of the right circle 22 seconds into the second period. Doughty scored off a feed from Tyler Toffoli.NOTES: At 5:40 of the first, the Kings had an apparent goal by Walker negated by goalie interference. SAN JOSE Colton Sissons Jersey , Calif. (AP) The San Jose Sharks are closing in on a seven-year contract with Evander Kane that will keep the high-scoring forward off the free-agent market.A person familiar with the negotiations says the contract is expected to be finalized on Wednesday. The person spoke to The Associated Press on Tuesday night on condition of anonymity because the deal hasn’t been completed. Sportsnet first reported the two sides were close to an agreement.Kane, who turns 27 in August, was acquired from Buffalo at the trade deadline. Under the terms of that trade, the Sabres will now get a first-round pick in 2019 instead of a second-rounder because Kane signed with San Jose. The selection is lottery-protected, so it could be moved to 2020.Kane’s status was one of the biggest questions heading into this offseason for the Sharks, who were knocked out of the playoffs in six games in the second round against eventual Western Conference champion Vegas.Star Joe Thornton is the other prominent potential free agent on the team but has said he’s willing to come back on a reduced one-year deal.Kane had issues off the ice and with teammates at times during his stints with Winnipeg and Buffalo, but melded well with a veteran Sharks team and got the opportunity to go to the postseason for the first time in his career.”He’s fit in well,” teammate Logan Couture said after the season ended. ”You don’t listen to what people say about him before. He missed Game 2 of that series when he was suspended for cross-checking Pierre-Edouard Bellemare.Kane finished last season with 29 goals and 25 assists, his second-most productive season to his 30-goal, 27-assist campaign for the Jets in 2011-12. Kane has 186 goals and 168 assists in 574 career games since entering the NHL as the fourth overall pick by Atlanta in 2009.— ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — A fresh start was exactly what the Anaheim Ducks needed.Kevin Boyle made 35 saves in his first career start and the Ducks beat the Vancouver Canucks 1-0 Wednesday night in general manager Bob Murray’s first game as interim coach.Jakob Silfverberg scored to help Anaheim end a seven-game losing streak, a skid which prompted Murray to fire coach Randy Carlyle on Sunday and take over for the rest of the season. The 64-year-old Murray had never coached professionally at any level but got the response he had been looking for, with Silfverberg scoring 6:30 into the first period to give the Ducks their first lead since getting the opening goal in a 5-1 loss at St. Louis on Jan. 23.“If you look at it Ian Cole Jersey Womens , it wasn’t a clean game from us,” Silfverberg said. “We can always improve, but at the same time we’ll take a win however it looks right now. Hopefully this will get a huge load off our back and we can start building off this.”Anaheim didn’t offer much aesthetically, generating one shot during three power-play opportunities and often struggling to cleanly get the puck out of its own zone. But the Ducks did play with a feisty edge throughout the increasingly chippy game, showing the emotion and pushback Murray believed had been lacking as they dropped 19 of their previous 21 games to plummet into last place in the Western Conference.Veteran forward Ryan Kesler got into a fight with Josh Leivo less than two minutes after Silfverberg scored, and Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf scrapped with Erik Gudbranson in the second period.Silfverberg felt the Ducks channeled that passion in the right way to earn their first victory since a road win over New Jersey on Jan. 19.“Emotion is something we’ve been kind of missing, but at the same time you got to do it the right way,” Silfverberg said. “You can’t just go out there and try to look to run guys over cause then you’re going to be spending the rest of the game in the penalty box and you’re not going to have any fun.”Murray certainly seemed to be making the most of his unexpected time on the bench Philipp Grubauer Jersey Womens , offering a sheepish grin when he was shown on camera to start the game. Despite delegating tasks such as line changes to assistants Mark Morrison and Marty Wilford, Murray admitted the game was much faster from his new vantage point after years of watching from up high.“I always told you it’s very easy upstairs, but it was good,” Murray said. “I enjoyed being around the guys and, again, tonight everything was positive so it was easier.”It helped that Murray had the benefit of Boyle, a 26-year-old undrafted rookie, joining John Gibson as the second Ducks goalie to record a shutout in his first NHL start.Boyle made a series of difficult saves and caught a break when Canucks rookie Elias Pettersson hit the crossbar with a powerful slap shot during a power play in the first period.“If you didn’t watch what pucks went in the net tonight http://www.officialoilers.com/authentic-adidas-connor-mcdavid-jersey , you would’ve been really happy with our game,” Canucks coach Travis Green said.Jacob Markstrom made 21 saves for Vancouver, which has lost four straight road games.NOTES: Ducks D Cam Fowler played in his 595th game for Anaheim, passing Ruslan Salei for most appearances by a defenseman in team history. … Gibson was placed on injured reserve because of back, neck and head injuries.UP NEXTCanucks: Visit Los Angeles on Thursday night.Ducks: Host Boston on Friday night.

Tannehill had a disappointing comeback from knee injuries in 2018, but as a backup he’s a step up from the likes of Blaine Gabbert and Luke Falk. Before injuries sapped away a lot of his athleticism, I thought Tannehill was actually a decent QB, especially in 2016. He was the fourth most accurate deep passer that season, and his ability to make throws on rollouts stood out. But two knee injuries in two seasons set Tannehill back, and behind a lackluster offensive line he was unable to create plays outside of structure the way he used to.Tannehill’s downfield accuracy also took a major blow, as he went from the fourth most accurate deep passer in 2016 to the second least accurate in 2018. That’s a huge step down from Mariota’s ranking of seventh in the same category.brickwallblitz.comOnly Jameis Winston was less accurate than Tannehill on deep passes in 2018. On the other hand Josh Kline Jersey , I didn't really find any baffling misses from him, but his tight window accuracy was severely lacking. Still, that he only had four passes into open windows when throwing deep out of 32 attempts is a massive indictment on the coaching staff at the time. Now obviously in most of these categories Mariota reigns superior to Tannehill in accuracy percentage. But while I’m weary of Tannehill as a starter in his current state, as a backup I think he’s far more capable than Gabbert or Falk were. Mobility and scrambling were a huge part of his game that were taken away by injuries, but as a pocket passer Tannehill has shown he is capable.gamepass.nfl.comThe thing about Tannehill as a pocket passer that appeals to me is that his mechanics generally don’t break down all that much under pressure. Much like Mariota he’s relatively calm and collected in these situations.Take this touchdown to Kenny Stills against the Raiders for example. Both of his tackles give up pressure to the edges, but Tannehill’s sights are kept on making a perfect tight window throw in the back of the end zone to Stills. His footwork remains smooth, and while he gets hit, his pass is right on the money for the score. While Mariota is in the final year of his rookie contract http://www.thetitanslockerroom.com/authentic-corey-davis-jersey , I don’t think Tannehill is being brought in to compete for the starting job. Since Mariota has never started a full 16-game stretch in his career and has missed significant playing time, Tannehill has been brought in by Jon Robinson to provide quality insurance as a backup option. And bringing Tannehill in wasn’t all that expensive in the first place. The team gave up a fourth rounder in the 2020 draft and a seventh round pick in this year’s draft to the rebuilding Dolphins, which isn’t a bad deal for both sides. And Tannehill’s 1-year $7M deal with the Titans means there’s very little cap hit for Tennessee.Perhaps with another year away from injury Tannehill’s deep accuracy will see some improvement, but from a starter’s perspective I think those days are over. However he looks to become one of the best backup quarterbacks in the league, which is extremely valuable, especially if your starting quarterback isn’t all that durable. For what it’s worth, I think this was a good move by the Titans front office. It has been another slow news day for the Titans. I am really ready for them to make some move that gives us something to talk about. Anyway, here is our look at what’s trending today:Craig..."It has been another slow news day for the Titans. I am really ready for them to make some move that gives us something to talk about. It is almost baseball season!Peter Tork- Apparently he was in The Monkees, but let’s be honest, we all remember him better for being Topanga’s dad on Boy Meets World- which is one of the greatest shows of all time.Roger Stone- This made me think of the the Audioslave song “Like a Stone.” As 90’s alternative bands go, Audioslave is one of he most underrated.Bowser- Of course we all think of the Nintendo character, and the funny thing is this has something to do with the president of Nintendo.
Instead of some bold predictions Womens Peyton Barber Jersey , the Bucs need a bold win against the Browns. The Bucs have played some pretty bad football over the last three games, but if they are able to pull these off, it will be the remedy they need to get back to their winning ways of 2018. 1. The Buccaneers have their best defensive performance of the season. (Alex)Call me crazy, but I think the Buccaneers defense dominates this game from start to finish. When people get fired, eyes begin to open and the players now know they are playing for their jobs for the rest of the season. You can’t continue to fire coaches. Eventually, it has to come back to the players and the firing of Mike Smith will shine a light on who isn’t producing as a player.I dont’ expect a shutout. Hell, the Browns will probably rattle off a couple of touchdowns. But I do expect a defense that flies to the ball and forces turnovers. Do I dare say I expect a defensive touchdown as well?Well, maybe im a little to bold with that last part, but I’m confident in Duffner to employ a physical type of defense this weekend. Bucs BOLD defensive stat predictions: 2 INT, 4 Sacks, 1 FF2. Peyton Barber goes over 100+ yards on the ground and scores a touchdown in consecutive weeks. (Alex)The Cleveland Browns have a young and improving defense, but they are ranked 29th in the league in defending the run, allowing an average of 138.2 YPG on the ground. Peyton Barber is coming off of his best game of the season in which he ran for 82 yards on just 13 carries. The Buccaneers need to do everything they can to keep their defense off the field and I think establishing the run is going to be a huge part of the game plan come Sunday. Barber finds his groove and goes for 115 and a touchdown on 20+ carries. 3. Duke Johnson Jr. leads the team in yards from scrimmage. (Evan)Tampa Bay is pretty good against the run, but they are really bad against pass-catching backs. Through five games, the Bucs have allowed opposing backs to record a 31/333/2 line when it comes to catching balls out of the backfield. This includes two 100-yard performances by Alvin Kamara and Tarik Cohen.Referring to the latter, the Bears were more than comfortable playing Cohen - a backup - over their own starter in Jordan Howard based off of the matchup. It paid dividends as the Bears dismantled the Bucs in Chicago. I expect Cleveland to do the exact same with Johnson Jr. this week. Even if Carlos Hyde were still around, this feels like a DJJ game and I think he (DJJ) still would’ve seen more action. This prediction may come as a surprise considering how poorly the Bucs’ secondary has performed, but the defense as a whole has been terrible all season long. Todd Haley is no slouch as an offensive coordinator and he will exploit this Tampa Bay weakness this weekend. 4. Kwon Alexander has multiple sacks. (Evan)Kwon has recorded just one sack in the last 22 games. Whether it be scheme, injury, or just ineffectiveness, it’s an alarming stat for a player that took down the quarterback six times in his first 23 games. That will change this weekend against the Browns.First off, with linebackers coach Mark Duffner taking over the defense, he knows what he has in Lavonte David and Alexander. He knows that both players are extremely athletic and can sack the quarterback. Secondly, with Gerald McCoy and Vinny Curry already ruled out, the Bucs will have to find a pass rush somewhere other than the defensive line. Third, the Browns may be without their starting center which would make it harder to identify potential blitzers.Alexander also hasn’t been the beacon of consistency in 2018. It would be a major confidence booster - not that he really needs it - to have him come out and fly around in his first game with Duffner as DC.Want another stat that makes this an even bolder prediction? Alexander has never recorded multiple sacks in a game during his entire career.5. Chris Godwin catches two touchdowns. (Evan)All eyes - mainly Denzel Ward’s - will be on Mike Evans, which should leave plenty of room for Godwin to operate underneath. The good thing about Godwin, however, is that he can make plays all over the field. He can beat you on all types of routes. The Bucs will take advantage of the Browns’ aggressive defense this week by utilizing quick passes to Godwin and DeSean Jackson. Tampa Bay should be able to move the ball William Gholston Jersey , which plays right into Godwin’s hands. This is because all four of his touchdown receptions have come inside the 10-yard line. He is becoming a major red zone threat with each passing week and that will culminate in a two-touchdown performance on Sunday. It would be the first time in his career catching multiple scores. For the Bucs’ sake, let’s hope that happens.Monken calls plays, Tampa Bay has flawless offensive performance Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Dirk Koetter likes calling plays, and has done it his whole career. But his offense was widely criticized last year for being predictable and inefficient; specifically, his insistence on running the ball early in first quarters and on first downs, one of Koetter’s tenets, actually helped to put the Bucs in huge holes early in games, forcing them to become one dimensional and pass to catch up late in games. This is because passing is far more efficient than running and statistically leads to less punts and more points, and the Bucs’ running game wasn’t good; this gave their opponents a huge advantage as they passed early instead and opened leads while the Bucs continued to put themselves in 3rd and long situations that are difficult to convert. Unfortunately, the Bucs also had the worst defense in the league, leaving the offense stuck fighting a war that was impossible to win. Tampa Bay limped to a 5-11 record. But those alleged issues with his play calling didn’t just hurt the Bucs last year - it hurt them the year before, too. In fact, under Dirk Koetter’s play calling in 2016 and 2017 nobody rushed more on first downs early in games than the Bucs, almost 66% of the time, despite the fact that the passing game yielded more than twice the yardage on average than the running game and a much higher success rate.Coming into the 2018 season Dirk Koetter was on the hot seat; the Bucs tried to overhaul their defensive line in an effort to improve the defense, and fans wondered what changes the Bucs might make to their offense. But if there were going to have any success they would need to change how they approached games. Specifically, they needed throw, and throw early and often. The question was whether Koetter was willing to set aside his ego and turn play calling over to his offensive coordinator Todd Monken, who was previously the head coach of Southern Miss. It’s not that anyone thought or knew Monken was better than Koetter at calling plays, or even good at it, just that it was obvious Koetter was not, or that he was too resistant to change. So it was a pleasant surprise when it was announced that Monken would call plays in the preseason. While it was a gamble for Koetter, it was also a big admission, and one that could not have been easy to make. It paid off in a good way during the preseason, and the Bucs’ offense, and especially their quarterbacks, played lights-out football. It was obvious to everyone watching what needed to happen. But could Koetter let it go? It was reportedly a hard decision for him; once you go, you can’t go back, and it was one of the things he enjoyed most about coaching. He kept it a secret right up until kick-off today and even then Womens Ronde Barber Jersey , he had a copy of the play sheet in his hands. But the announcers for Fox Sports confirmed that Monken was indeed calling plays (from the booth), and his debut could not have gone any better. Fitzpatrick was incredible, with several deep bombs on the money. Monken mixed up the pass and the run, and at halftime the Bucs were cruising along at an unbelievable 9.6 yards per play. They had eight plays of 20+ yards. They weren’t just creating scoring opportunities, they were converting them as well, going two for three in the red zone with touchdowns, and had 31 points, a franchise record for one half. The second half was more of the same, and the Bucs finished with 48 points, tied for a franchise record, and 8.5 yards per play. Ryan Fitzpatrick finished 21-28 for 417 yards and four touchdowns, a 14.9 yards per attempt average. That average should be the highest of his entire thirteen-year career. The offense’s 8.5 yards per play is the team’s highest since 2012 and the second-highest going back to 2000. Of the 4,352 total regular season NFL games since 2000, 8.5 yards per play would rank in the top 50.Even the offensive line looked really good, and didn’t allow a sack. The whole thing was glorious. Amazing. It was the inside of Marcellus Wallace’s briefcase. Bask in it’s glow. But it was so good, it’s also unsustainable. That’s okay! This game was one for the record books. And they did it versus what was a top ten defense last season. But we still have to acknowledge that the Bucs’ defensive performance was just as equally bad. Perhaps forcing a fumble is a skill, but once the ball is on the ground, it’s 50/50, pure luck. The Bucs recovered both of the Saints’ fumbles. A few unlucky bounces and the Bucs could have easily wasted this offensive performance. About the only thing that went wrong for the Bucs was kicker Chandler Catanzaro’s miss that would have iced the game with a three-score lead. The Saints scored 16 points in the final quarter, and Tampa is now 1-0 in one-score games in 2018. The Bucs also finished only converting two of their four red zone opportunities into touchdowns, while the Saints converted four of five.Despite trying to bring this game into some grounded perspective, it is now impossible for Koetter to go back to calling plays next week. As Monken called them up, Koetter would mark them off on his play sheet, so he’s still clearly very much involved. But unless the offense falters several games in a row it appears to be Monken’s responsibility going forward.Bucs Nation will have more on exactly what Monken did to attack the Saints’ defense in film review, but for now, let’s celebrate!
The Pittsburgh Steelers have a decision to make with regard to wide receiver Antonio Brown Deebo Samuel Jersey , but they seem optimistic if they decide to trade him. The team believes they can make a deal that includes at least a first round pick, according to CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora. NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport reported that rival GMs think the Steelers will be able to get a second round pick and maybe a third. The Dallas Cowboys gave up a first round pick for wide receiver Amari Cooper, and Rapoport said it seemed unlikely Pittsburgh could get the same return. Cooper is six years younger than Brown, and while Brown is one of the best receivers in the NFL right now, it’s not surprising teams would not be willing to invest as much as the Steelers might hope for in aa deal.La Canfora reported that the Steelers expected to hear from the 49ers, Seahawks, Colts, Saints, Packers, and Eagles. His sources with the team said they expect “significant interest” from the Ravens, Browns, and Patriots, but the team is highly unlikely to deal him to a rival. Rapoport mentioned the 49ers, Colts, and Jets Deebo Samuel San Francisco 49ers Jersey , and said to keep an eye on the Broncos.Teams cannot make trades until the new league year starts on March 13th, but there are always talks before then. La Canfora reported trade talks were expected to begin at the Combine, and Rapoport said the Steelers are likely to go out and actively seek offers for Brown. When San Francisco cut linebacker Reuben Foster following a domestic violence arrest at the team hotel, many thought that could be his last chance in the NFL, and that if it wasn’t his last chance, he was going to have to do a lot of work to rehabilitate his image before any team would want him.Instead, Washington claimed Foster on waivers. And San Francisco coach Kyle Shanahan was among those who didn’t see that coming.鈥淚 was a little surprised,鈥?Shanahan said. 鈥淚 mean, not the team in particular, but that someone did. But someone did, and I saw it just like you guys did.鈥?Immediately after Foster was awarded to Washington on waivers, the team issued a statement saying he won’t play for them until the legal process concludes, and Foster was placed on the Commissioner Exempt list, which allows him to keep collecting paychecks while not participating in team activities.
RENTON Dontae Johnson Jersey , Wash. (AP) — Outside of middle linebacker Bobby Wagner, no one on the Seattle Seahawks defense has proven more valuable this season than safety Bradley McDougald. And just in time for a visit from the leading passer in the NFL, the Seahawks aren’t sure if McDougald will be able to play Sunday against Kansas City.McDougald’s knee injury is one of several that could change Seattle’s lineup for a Week 16 matchup where a victory and some help from others could clinch an NFC wild-card berth for the Seahawks.McDougald has been dealing with a patellar tendon injury that flared up during the first half last week against San Francisco and forced him to become a spectator for the vast majority of the loss to the 49ers. Seattle coach Pete Carroll said McDougald is away from the team for a few days getting additional treatment on his knee and is expected back by the end of the week. But when asked if he thought McDougald would be able to play against Patrick Mahomes and the NFL’s top passing offense, Carroll could only say, “possibly.” If McDougald can’t play against the Chiefs it would be second-year safety Delano Hill stepping in. Hill played 52 snaps last week against San Francisco.Seattle is equally unsettled at right guard and potentially with its depth in the backfield. The Seahawks placed guard Jordan Simmons on injured reserve Tuesday due to a knee injury suffered in the loss to San Francisco and it’s uncertain whether D.J. Fluker’s injured hamstring will be healthy enough for him to return this week. The injuries have left Seattle possibly needing a major shuffle on an offensive line that has helped create the top rushing offense in the NFL.Ethan Pocic struggled last week when he stepped in for Simmons. Seattle has used George Fant as an extra offensive lineman for significant snaps throughout the season and his ability to play tackle could allow some shuffling among the starters in the short-term until Fluker can return.“Let’s wait and see on that one. We’ll wait and see how this goes,” Carroll said. “Jordan, he needs likely to get some work done on his knee to get him back so he’s out. There are some decisions that we’re making. Let’s see how the week goes.”Seattle signed running back Bo Scarbrough off the Jacksonville practice squad to take Simmons’ roster spot and that’s partly due to depth concerns at running back. Seattle played last week without rookie first-round pick Rashaad Penny due to a knee injury and Carroll said there was enough wear on starter Chris Carson and backup Mike Davis that they needed the extra depth in case Penny isn’t back this week.“It’s uncertain if he can get back. We don’t know that,” Carroll said. “He’s really determined to try and make it back and Friday is the day he can try to go for it and show that he can run and go for it.”Amid all the injury news, the Seahawks believe veteran linebacker K.J. Wright will be back after missing the past five games. Wright hasn’t played since Week 10 after aggravating a knee problem that first popped up in the preseason and required surgery.Wright said when he returned in Week 8 against Detroit that he took on too much and that eventually led to a setback. When he returns this time Byron Maxwell Jersey , he said he’s going to be smarter about his play count and ramp up toward being ready for a full load when the postseason arrives — assuming Seattle gets there.“We’re going to be smarter this time. We’ve got a good game plan going,” Wright said. “Ease it in these last two games, make the playoffs and kick it off from there.” Others have tried, but no one may be in better position to blaze a new trail for NFL players than Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson. And the time has come for someone to sign a contract that ties his future pay not to specific dollars but to a percentage of the ever-growing cap. It’s arguably overdue for a high-end player to achieve protection against the inevitable contract-hopping that happens as the salary cap climbs and, in turn, the market increases. With, as of 2013, the cap embarking on a $10 million-or-more annual jump, long-term deals quickly became obsolete. That’s precisely why Wilson currently is so underpaid. When signing his latest contract J.R. Sweezy Jersey , with a new-money average of $21.9 million per year, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers had the top spot at $22 million. Eventually, along came Andrew Luck ($24.5 million) and Derek Carr ($25 million) and Matthew Stafford ($27 million) and Jimmy Garoppolo ($27.5 million) and Kirk Cousins ($28 million) and Matt Ryan ($30 million) before Rodgers pushed the bar to $33.5 million.Wilson, entering the final year of a four-year extension, must now worry about the same dynamic playing out, in the event he puts his hand one spot higher on an upside-down baseball bat that never quite allows anyone to curl his thumb over the knob. Complicating matters for Wilson is the uncertainty over the multiple sources of potential cap spikes, from a new labor deal to new TV deals to new states embracing gambling — and the NFL turning those expanded gambling pools into new revenue streams. If the Seahawks want to avoid embarking on a year-to-year franchise-tag dance with Wilson, which would culminate in a one-year tender of $52.43 million in 2022, they likely will need to be willing to give Wilson insurance against spikes in the cap and Duane Brown Jersey , in turn, growth in the market that could result in players like Deshaun Watson, Patrick Mahomes, and Baker Mayfield leapfrogging Wilson while he works through the years of his third NFL deal. With the deadline for doing a long-term deal one day away, that’s the wrinkle to watch. Unless the Seahawks are willing to dramatically exceed the current market maximum in hard dollars, it’s going to take a percentage of the cap to get this done.

WINNIPEG Womens Seth Jones Jersey , Manitoba (AP) Brandon Tanev will have to watch video of himself celebrating his first NHL career hat trick because he can’t remember what he did.The second-year fourth-line forward scored his third goal of the game early in the third period, and Patrik Laine got the deciding score of the shootout to lift the Winnipeg Jets to a 5-4 victory over the Boston Bruins on Tuesday night.”I kind of blacked out and didn’t really know what I was doing,” Tanev said of the moment when hats started raining down on the ice from the crowd at Bell MTS Place. ”It was just a great feeling.”Laine deked and his shot in the fourth round of the tiebreaker trickled under Bruins goalie Anton Khudobin. Mark Scheifele also scored in the shootout for Winnipeg and Bruins rookie Ryan Donato beat Jets goalie Connor Hellebuyck. The victory capped a perfect six-game homestand for the Jets.”You’re so happy for him” Winnipeg captain Blake Wheeler said of Tanev. ”That line doesn’t really have a glamourous job. They’re supposed to go out there and basically just shut down the other team’s best players, play heavy on them. They’ve done just an outstanding job of it all year, especially when they’ve been healthy.”I’m sure he’s going to remember this for a long time. Hopefully that doesn’t happen again, but you never know.”We might have to go through that sometime this spring, and you’ve got to find a way to go through it.”Tanev began the game’s scoring when he banged at the puck from the side of the net until it went across the goal line at 5:33 of the first period. that the Titans aren’t targeting."WhiteFanposts Fanshots Sections Tennessee Titans PodcastWho Are Your Five Favorite Prospects From the 2019 NFL Draft Class?New Dion Lewis Jersey White ,33commentsYes you can include players that the Titans aren’t targeting.CDTShareTweetShareShareWho Are Your Five Favorite Prospects From the 2019 NFL Draft Class?Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY SportsThe 2019 NFL Draft Class looks like it’s going to be a great one, with plenty of depth at wide receiver and the pass rush. With this in mind, it can be tough to nail down who my favorite prospects are, because I feel that many of these players are equally deserving. But for fun, let’s look at my five favorite prospects from the 2019 NFL Draft class (as of this writing, since I still have plenty more prospects to watch). These don’t have to be prospects you’d want on the Titans by the way. Also, keep in mind these are my FAVORITE prospects, not necessarily the best ones. With that said, let’s get to the countdown!5. Ed Oliver (DT, Houston)Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY SportsEd Oliver has become one of the more hyped draft prospects at any position in this year’s draft class, and for good reason. Oliver’s quick burst off the line of scrimmage, power and speed make him a highly appealing interior pass rusher for any team looking for an immediate upgrade there.Apparently Oliver is scheduled to visit with the Titans soon. Is it an improbable sign?4. Greedy Williams (CB, LSU)Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY SportsGreedy Williams is a dream cover corner. His tackling ability may be a little lacking, but his cover ability comes down to a near mirror image of the receiver he’s facing against, so this easily offsets that issue. Tennessee can be listed as one of the teams not interested in him, but Williams should provide a terrific cornerstone for the next defense taking him in.3. Kyler Murray (QB, Oklahoma)Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY SportsWhile his height may be an issue for certain teams looking for a quarterback, Kyler Murray’s best traits make him worth the gamble in my opinion. His arm velocity—especially towards the deep sidelines—is sensational, and like fellow ex-Sooner Baker Mayfield he’s great at creating plays outside of structure while offering far more versatility as a scrambler. Many people consider Ohio State’s Dwayne Haskins the safer pick, but Murray is the more exciting, risk to high reward quarterback. If he can be put in the right hands (Kliff Kingsbury, perhaps?), he’s going to be waking up dangerous every Sunday.2. Marquise Brown (WR, Oklahoma)Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY SportsThe only reason Marquise Brown’s draft stock isn’t outrageously high is because of the Lisfranc injury he suffered back in February. That could potentially be a big blow to a sensational receiving talent’s NFL career, but at full health Hollywood Brown is first class.Brown’s vertical ability and breakaway speed are comparable to DeSean Jackson, and as soon as he has the ball in his hands he’s gone. He’s an exciting, potentially game changing weapon just as long as he gets back to full health Adoree' Jackson Jersey White , whether this season or the next.1. Quinnen Williams (DT, Alabama)Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY SportsThis is it. This is my favorite prospect from any position from any draft class I’ve covered. Quinnen Williams is the real deal, a potential game changing interior pass rusher that I think could be even better than Ed Oliver! While Williams had more talent around him in Bama, he was the face of that Crimson Tide defense. And everything that Oliver has—speed, quickness, and power—Williams has it as well, only he shows it off a little more consistently.I haven’t seen a prospect consistently dominate his position the way Quinnen Williams has at DT, and I truly believe he is the real deal. So, with this out of the way, let’s see your five favorite prospects from the 2019 class! The Titans absolutely dominated the New England Patriots in every way possible today. Offense, defense, special teams, coaching... everything was lopsided in favor of the two-tone blue at Nissan Stadium. This was as close as you can get to a perfect football game. Let’s get to the winners and losers from Titans 34, “Titans of the North” 10.WinnersMalcolm ButlerAfter a tough week in Dallas, many were concerned about the Patriots further exposing Butler’s tendencies to bite on double moves. Instead we saw a return of “Good Butler” as the Titans big offseason addition was hardly ever targeted by his former team. He was a part of a Tennessee secondary that held Tom Brady to just 21 of 41 passing (51.2%) for 254 yards, an average of just 6.2 yards per attempt. It was good to see Butler put together this type of game against his former team, especially after the way things ended for him in New England.Regardless of what you think of Butler’s first 8 games as a Titan, this is the kind of performance that Jon Robinson envisioned when he signed him this offseason. If that player shows up more frequently down the stretch, it completely changes the ceiling for this Titans defense (which is already very high).Corey DavisDavis played like a superstar on Sunday, catching 7 of 10 targets for 125 yards and a touchdown. He also drew a big pass interference call. Two of those 7 catches were absolutely fantastic plays by the second year wide receiver. His most impressive catch of the gamewas an 8-yard third down conversion where he made a leaping, twisting snag to haul in a pass that was both high and behind him. Not only did Davis put up big numbers, but he did so while being shadowed by one of the NFL’s best corners in Stephon Gilmore. He regularly roasted Gilmore during this game. Davis clearly loves playing the Pats.Marcus Mariota Mariota came out hot, throwing touchdown passes on the Titans first two drives of the game. He showed remarkable presence in the pocket and did a great job of not only avoiding pressure, but doing so while keeping his eyes down field. He found Corey Davis for a big gain outside the pocket during the first drive and ended that march with a strike to Jonnu Smith on a similar play. He cooled off a little bit later in the game, but his final line was an efficient 16 of 24 for 228 yards for a huge 9.5 yards per attempt average, 2 touchdowns, and no interceptions. Oh Tajae Sharpe Jersey , and he also added 21 yards rushing and 21 yards receiving to an excellent day. Mariota has now strung together three straight very strong games and appears to be both feeling better physically and gaining a firmer grasp of Matt LaFleur’s offense. He’s thrown 5 touchdowns to just 1 interception over that timeframe and looked much more comfortable. Adoree’ JacksonJackson was given the tall task of tracking Josh Gordon most of the game and while Gordon did end up with 81 yards, he did that while catching just 4 of 12 targets. That lack of efficiency was largely a reflection of Jackson’s coverage. He was credited with just 2 passes defended officially — which is still a strong game for a corner — but he was there cutting off Gordon’s path or otherwise disrupting him all game. Jackson’s emergence as a borderline shutdown corner has been largely overshadowed by Butler’s struggles across from him, but he should get massive credit for his performance in this game. He was the best of a thoroughly outstanding secondary performance today.Wesley WoodyardThe veteran linebacker was all over the field on Sunday, stuffing the stat sheet with 10 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 1 tackle for loss, and 3 additional hits on Tom Brady. The Titans inside linebacker group has been outstanding over the past few games with Woodyard, Jayon Brown (who also had a sack today), and Rashaan Evans all playing at a very high level. Cameron BatsonBatson got a lot of snaps with Taywan Taylor sitting out with a foot injury this week and he showed why the Titans chose to keep him over other options on the 53-man roster. He had just 2 catches for 36 yards, but once again they were both third down conversions, including a fantastic toe-dragging snag along the sideline. He’s been good when pressed in to action and could be in line for a bigger role as the season continues. Batson profiles — ironically — as your prototypical New England slot receiver. He’s just 5’-8” tall, but he’s smart (high school valedictorian and three-time All-Big 12 Academic honoree), fast (4.32 40 time at Texas Tech’s pro day), and fearless. Call me crazy, but I think the Titans could really have something with Batson.Jonnu SmithThe Jonnu Smith redemption train continues to gain steam. He was the Titans second-leading receiver on the game, catching all 3 of his targets for 45 yards and a touchdown. He showed off some outstanding run after catch ability in the process. He’s now got touchdowns in back to back games since the bye week.Derrick HenryHenry remains the clear Robin to Dion Lewis’ Batman, but the big back took advantage of his limited opportunities against New England, rushing for 58 yards and 2 touchdowns on just 11 carries. He continues to be efficient in goalline situations and may have earned a bigger workload against the Colts with his performance down the stretch in this one.Kenny VaccaroThe Titans physical safety set the tone for the excellent defensive performance on the very first play of the game.He absolutely wrecked James White on this swing pass, showing the play recognition, closing speed, and aggression that once made him a first round pick. I feel like I say this every week, but Vaccaro has been a massive help for this Titans defense. The other 31 teams should be ashamed for leaving him sitting on the market all summer. He and Kevin Byard are an elite combo on the back end.Mike VrabelThis must have felt pretty good for the former Patriot. Vrabel and his staff completely outcoached Belichick in this one. The Titans didn’t appear to be surprised by anything the always shapeshifting Patriots threw at them. Instead, Tennessee appeared to be the more prepared squad, frustrating Brady on defense with sticky coverage and well-timed blitzes while the offense remained balanced and efficient all game. Vrabel even managed to get in an expert level troll of his former coach by running the same reverse pass that New England had used on its previous offensive series and doing it better.Vrabel’s team played with a swagger and confidence from start to finish. It was clear that they weren’t intimidated by the Patriots. The Titans were the aggressor.Just under 10 years after Belichick traded Vrabel to the Chiefs, his former pass catching linebacker came back and thumped him as an opposing head coach. What’s that they say about payback?LosersLOL, not today

Word on Monday was that the Buccaneers were set to use the franchise tag on left tackle Donovan Smith, but that they’d keep talking about a long-term extension before and after the deadline to get one done. Those talks proved to be fruitful. The Buccaneers announced that they’ve reached agreement on a three-year deal with Smith on Tuesday afternoon.Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reported and PFT has confirmed that the deal is worth a total of $41.25 million. Of that total, $27 million is fully guaranteed at signing.“Donovan has been a valuable player and a model of durability since we drafted him four years ago,” said Buccaneers General Manager Jason Licht. “We always aim to develop our players and reward them for their productivity and reliability, so keeping Donovan as a Buccaneer was a major priority for us this offseason. Donovan’s presence ensures continuity at one of our most crucial positions on the offensive line and I know our coaching staff is eager to begin working with him.”With Smith signed, the biggest outstanding free agent for the Bucs is linebacker Kwon Alexander. There’s no sign that they’ll be franchising him before Tuesday afternoon’s deadline.
