Putting them in the same lineup ith half of their games at the hitter-friendly Yankee Stadium eant there would be no shortage of souvenirs at Yankees games this season. However, they are not the only ones who have been mashing. The Yankees have set an MLB record by having 12 players with double-digit home runs in a single-season. In other words, there's a reason they call them the Bronx Bombers.According to theYES Network, New York has also tied a franchise record by having five players with 25-plus dingers.MLB's Daren Willman tweeted out a detailed chart of all of the Yankees' homers to that point:Daren Willman darenw.Yankees have hit 245 home runs this season.27 more than the next closest team and tied with their franchise record. Now, its sights are set on the MLB record.Luke Voit added another dinger on Saturday later in the second inning to give New York 251 home runs in 2018. Judge recently missed more than a month due to a wrist injury, with Gary Sanchez having appeared in just 83 games due to injury as well. Imagine what the Yankees' home run total would look like if those two sluggers had been healthy all season. PEORIA, Ariz. (AP) — Left-hander Marco Gonzales is considered one of the Seattle Mariners‘ building blocks after a breakout 2018 season, but he does not define his role in those terms. He just wants to do his job and let the results speak for themselves.“In my mind, it has always been that I have to earn everything that I get,” Gonzales said. “We’ll see where we are at when the season starts, but I am going to do everything I can to help us win games. Whatever you want to call that http://www.padresfanproshop.com/authentic-jose-pirela-jersey , that’s what I’ll be doing.”Gonzales did it well a year ago, when he went 13-9 with a 4.00 ERA in 29 starts in his first full season with the Mariners after being acquired from St. Louis for outfielder Tyler O’Neil at the 2017 trade deadline.Gonzales was among the best pitchers in the American League during a 10-week midseason stretch, when he was 9-6 with a 2.61 ERA in 12 starts beginning May 23.After spending three weeks on the injured list with a neck strain in late August, he picked it up again, going 1-0 with a 1.74 ERA in four September starts.Gonzales and Mike Leake are likely to follow Yusei Kikuchi in the Mariners’ rotation, although the two-game series against Oakland in Japan on March 20-21 could skew the alignment early in the season.“Marco really matured as the season went along,” manager Scott Servais said. “He really took a step forward as the season progressed in understanding how to use all of his pitches. And then getting great results allowed him to get deeper in games.“That was kind of the stumbling block when we first got Marco http://www.giantsfanproshop.com/authentic-austin-jackson-jersey , could we get him through the lineup the third time? We challenged him early on. He wasn’t happy with some of the decisions I made, but he earned the right to go deep in games, and for a stretch there was awesome.”Gonzales also excels at the finer points. He permitted only four stolen bases in nine attempts a year ago while using four pitches almost interchangeably, leading with a fastball. He added a cut fastball last season, and he threw all four — four-seam fastball, cutter, changeup Derek Holland Jersey , curve — at least 22 percent of the time. That command can make for an uncomfortable at-bat.“A guy like me who can locate all four, I think I need to be unpredictable and just have that good mix and be able to attack with each one,” Gonzales said. “That’s my goal. Those are the things I’m working on in a nutshell. That’s important to me.”Gonzales averaged only 1.7 walks per nine innings in 2018, fourth behind Cleveland’s Corey Kluber, Houston’s Justin Verlander and teammate Leake in the league. He averaged 4 1/2 strikeouts for every walk, fifth in the league.“If I’m going to get beat, if I’m going to get hit around Buster Posey Jersey , I’d rather be in the zone than putting guys on base,” Gonzales said. “I’m going to attack guys and see what they have and make them swing the bat.”Servais believes in that approach.“I think it is really important he just be Marco,” Servais said. “Be who you are. Don’t lose sight of what you do well.”Gonzales, who missed the 2016 season after undergoing ligament replacement surgery in his left elbow, said the neck issue he suffered last season helped give him an awareness of what it takes to attack a full season.“Just trying to make some adjustments at the end of the year and finish strong,” Gonzales said of his September success. “Having a little hiccup last year and having to bounce back will help me to endure another year.”
The 5-7 Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be hosting the 10-2 New Orleans Saints this Sunday at Raymond James Stadium. Since the Buccaneers beat the Saints in week one Authentic Chandler Catanzaro Jersey , both teams have went in opposite directions. In no way am I a professional gambler and in no way am I telling you to put your money with what I predict. This is really just for fun and something we here at Bucs Nation thought the readers would enjoy after sports gambling was legalized. This is by far my favorite article to write throughout the week. For those that don’t know sports gambling, I will quickly go over the three main bets that are often placed. Also, the lines could always change and the website you use, could be different from mine. Betting with the spread: The Saints opened this game as 10 point favorites on the road after getting outplayed by the Dallas Cowboys. Currently, the spread has come down to -8 in favor of the Saints. If you were to take the Saints at -8, they would need to win by 9 points in order for you to cash. The Buccaneers could lose by 7 points and you would win if you took them. If the game ends in a Saints win by 8, everyone pushes. All odds are -110 when betting with the spread. You would need to risk $110 to win $100.Money line bets: The Buccaneers opened up as +320 odds to win this game outright and they remain there. The Saints currently sit at -380 after opening up at -390. Steep prices. You’d need to risk $380 on the Saints just to win $100, but a $100 dollar bet on the Buccaneers would pocket you $320 if they win. Over/Under bets: Again, no matter what way you pick, the odds in this case are -110. Vegas sports books currently have the over under at 55 陆total points scored. If you take the over, the Bucs and Saints must combined to score 56 points in order for you to win. Obviously Youth Jason Pierre-Paul Jersey , 54 points or under would result in a win if you go that route. Also, the over/under opened at 57 陆 , so professional gamblers have been hammering the under. If you took the Buccaneers ML pick, you cashed nicely last week. The over did not hit, but better to be 1-1 then 0-2. Currently, we are 12-12 on the season.Things to consider: New Orleans is 10-1 straight up in their last 11 games. New Orleans is also 9-1 with the spread in their last 10 games. The total has gone UNDER in 4 of the last five games Tampa Bay has played at home. The Buccaneers are also 4-1 ATS in their last five games played at home against the Saints. My picks: 7 point teaser. A teaser allows you to adjust the spread in the game. Give me the Buccaneers at +14 and the Over 50. TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS (5-11)New faces: DE Jason Pierre-Paul, DT Beau Allen, DE Vinny Curry, DT Vita Vea, RB Ronald Jones, C Ryan Jensen http://www.buccaneersauthorizedshops.com/authentic-vita-vea-jersey , DT Mitch Unrein, K Chandler Catanzaro.Key losses: RB Doug Martin, DE Robert Ayers, Jr., G J.R. Sweezy, DT Chris Baker, DT Clinton McDonald, S T.J. Ward.Strengths: QB Jameis Winston will miss first three games while serving suspension for violating NFL's personal conduct policy. At least Ryan Fitzgerald is experienced backup and familiar with offense. Talented receiver corps includes Mike Evans, DeSean Jackson, Chris Jackson and Adam Humphries, in addition to TEs Cameron Brate and O.J. Howard. Ranked fifth in passing offense in 2017 while winning five games and missing playoffs for 10th consecutive season. Defensive line anchored by Pro Bowl tackle Gerald McCoy should be better after offseason acquisition of DEs Pierre-Paul and Curry (free agency) Carlton Davis Jersey , as well as DTs Allen, Unrein and first-round draft pick Vea.Weaknesses: Anemic pass rush produced league-worst 22 sacks in 2017. Also ranked last in passing yards allowed, 22nd in points allowed and 31st in total defense. Offensive line is unsettled at best, with injuries forcing three projected starters to miss significant portion of training camp. Running game remains question mark, despite upgrading line with signing of C Ryan Jensen in free agency and drafting of RB Ronald Jones II. RB Peyton Barber had solid preseason, maintaining edge over Jones for starting role. Hope is rookie will make difference with running and pass-catching skills. Thin secondary bolstered by drafting of Carlton Davis III and M.J. Stewart, though success could hinge on CB Brent Grimes remaining productive at age 35, and CB Vernon Hargreaves III rebounding from disappointing 2017.Fantasy Players To Watch: Evans. Winston's favorite target, one of three players in NFL history to begin career with four consecutive seasons with 1,000-plus yards receiving, joining A.J. Green and Hall of Famer Randy Moss. Has 13 100-yard games and scored 32 touchdowns since entering league in 2014.Vegas Says: Super Bowl 125-1. Over/under wins 6 1/2.Expectations: Chances of making playoffs took hit when NFL concluded eight-month investigation by suspending Winston for touching female Uber driver inappropriately during ride in 2016. Fourth-year QB will miss season opener at New Orleans Authentic Mike Evans Jersey , as well as home games against Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. Fitzpatrick, entering 14th season, will fill in, but 0-3 start would be difficult to overcome, even if Pierre-Paul and Curry rejuvenate pass rush. With Winston's salary due to increase from $705,000 to $20.9 million in 2019, there's pressure on 24-year-old 鈥?on and off field 鈥?to demonstrate franchise can count on him moving forward. Bucs lost 10 of 13 after 2-1 start in 2017. Another year with double-digit losses will place coach Dirk Koetter's job in jeopardy, too.
The Steelers are simplifying their defense for Monday night’s game against the Buccaneers and that may not be the only change in store when they take on the Ryan Fitzpatrick express.Saturday’s practice saw Coty Sensabaugh taking first-team snaps at right cornerback in place of Artie Burns. Burns said after the session that he didn’t know if the team was trying to challenge him or if there would be a change to the starting lineup in Tampa. Sensabaugh was also in the dark.“I’m expecting to find out just like you guys Buccaneers Beau Allen Jersey ,” Sensabaugh said, via the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. “Whenever my number is called to go in, whenever they tell me I’m out, I’m out. I’m just going with the flow of whatever they want me to do.”Sensabaugh saw 29 snaps at the other cornerback spot last Sunday because Joe Haden was out. Haden is expected back in action on Monday Buccaneers Vinny Curry Jersey , but there’s likely to be at least one other change in the secondary as safety Morgan Burnett is listed as doubtful due to a groin injury. How about that folks? Back to back complete games by your Tampa Bay Buccaneers on both sides of the ball. This game was a tale of two quarterbacks on offense with Jameis Winston playing a second game in a row of turnover free football while Cam Newton tossed four interceptions in the ball game. The Buccaneers defense, led by All-Pro Andrew Adams (wait... who?), swarmed the football and the defensive line constantly got into Cam Newton’s face. Let’s take a look and react to what we saw in an all around good game by the Buccaneers on Sunday. The offense looked in control for most of the afternoon. For three quarters of the game it looked like the Buccaneers offense was cruising a bit. Jameis Winston had his second very good game in a row with a pair of touchdown passes that went to Chris Godwin and Adam Humphries, moving about the pocket and even scrambling to the tune of 48 yards on 5 carries. Jameis Winston looked the way a 1st overall pick should look Cheap Vita Vea Jersey , under control and in charge. The ground game struggled mightily throughout this game aside from a Peyton Barber 17 yard scramble. The other 19 carries between Barber (16/45 yds overall) and Rodgers (4/2 yards overall) went for a measly 30 yards total. The struggles on the ground showed late in this ball game as Tampa Bay’s offense was unable to really put the Panthers away and move the sticks when it needed to the most. The air attack had a rather reserved day from what fans have come to expect this season as the team only passed the ball for 249 yards on the afternoon. Winston connected with 5 different targets led by Chris Godwin’s 5 receptions for 101 yards and a touchdown. Adam Humphries played a good game catching 7 of his 9 targets and Mike Evans threw in 4 grabs for 48 yards of his own. Evans was victim to a few penalties in this game including his usual offensive pass interference that has plagued him throughout his NFL career. The offensive line struggled to create lanes for the running backs and allowed Winston to be sacked 4 times in this one. Donovan Smith had a few really poor snaps in this ball game. A more consistent offensive line likely would have led to some more scoring in this ball game. Luckily for the offense, the defense came to play in a big way.Is defense making its returning to Tampa Bay?The defensive front was on it all game long. Jason Pierre-Paul and the defensive line led a merciless attack on Cam Newton and his offensive line all game long. Pierre-Paul and Vinny Curry each landed themselves a sack. Gerald McCoy directly affected two pass plays that resulted in Cam Newton thrown interceptions. Carl Nassib was seen in the backfield a few times. Folks, it was a thing of beauty and a slight glimpse of what use to be in the days of Simeon Rice and Warren Sapp. Even if only for a day, it was a great display of effort up front by the Buccaneers. Lavonte David is back and he played lights out in this ball game. David record a sack to go with his 12 tackles and a pass deflected that landed the football in the hands of Andrew Adams. Adarius Taylor added 4 tackles and deflected a pass as well that nearly went for an interception. The linebacking group looked much improved against the pass in this one. Kevin Minter got into the mix with a sack Cheap Gerald McCoy Jersey , his first of the season. The defensive backs showed some very positive signs, none more so than Andrew Adams and his 3 interceptions tying a Buccaneer single game record. Jordan Whitehead finished with 7 total tackles and Javien Elliot added an interception and 4 tackles of his own too. With a group as injured as this one here, the positives coming out of this game are all over the place. Cairo Santos and Bryan Anger were worth their money in this one. Santos continues to look like the savior on special teams for the Buccaneers. Santos nailed all 4 of his kicks that included 3 extra points and a field goal. Punter Bryan Anger was a busy man, punting 6 times for 267 yards. Anger pinned the Panthers twice inside their own 20 yard line in this game. Final reactions. The Buccaneers are looking like a complete team for the first time arguably ever under Dirk Koetter. The offense is playing relatively mistake free Buccaneers Chandler Catanzaro Jersey , the defense is creating turnovers and getting to the quarterback and the kickers are doing their jobs. The question now is this... is it all coming together too late? With the team looking as good as they have the last two games, is that enough to warrant some more time with Dirk as the head coach? Is Jameis Winston earning that 20 million for next year? Has Mark Duffner made this big of a difference and if so... what may have been had this move been made much sooner? With the team playing so well right now it’s only increasingly frustrating for fans to wonder, what if? Either way, this is a team to be proud of for the time being. Enjoy it Buccaneer fans. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers look like a good football team at the moment. As always Cheap Mike Evans Jersey , Go Bucs!
Panthers 2018 season opener countdown: 60 days to go We are 60 days away from the beginning of the Carolina Panthers 2018 season. That means today we take a closer look at one of the most surprising players from last season Youth Luke Kuechly Jersey , Daryl Williams.Daryl Williams, Right TackleBioHeight: 6’6”Weight: 330 lbsAge: 24College: OklahomaNFL Experience: 4 yearsDaryl Williams is yet another development success story that Panthers offensive line coach John Matsko can add to his already stellar resume. Originally drafted in the 4th round of the 2015 NFL Draft, Williams has risen from promising project to All-Pro starter in the course of three full NFL seasons. Now on the final year of his rookie contract and after having performed at a high level last season, one of the big topics going forward is what the Panthers will do as far as his contract situation goes.Williams has earned a significant raise, but maybe not as significant as being one of the top paid right tackles in the league. I touched on this topic briefly in a recent article about the state of negotiations between him and the team:The most significant hindrance to Williams case to be paid like one of the best is that he has only performed at a high level for one season http://www.panthersfootballauthentic.com/graham-gano-jersey-authentic , and you’d like to see him do it again before writing up a big check. The second biggest factor is that the Panthers have 2nd round pick Taylor Moton waiting in the wings, though no one is sure what exactly we have in him yet. No doubt the Panthers will want to offer Williams a deal, but I am not sure it will be enough, and whether or not Williams will become the second talented offensive lineman to walk in free agency in as many years. DJ Moore and Calvin Ridley were destined to draw comparisons from the moment they were selected with back-to-back first round picks by the division rival Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons. Moore has had a noticeably slow start, if you look at box scores www.carolinapanthersteamonline.com , whereas Ridley has lit the league on fire. The easy observation is that the Panthers missed out on a franchise player and are stuck seeing what they can get out of Moore. I wouldn’t be so quick to make that judgment. The Panthers have, for what feels like the first time, a deep, veteran group of receivers. Moore has only been on the field for a third of the offense’s snaps and even that percentage is probably artificially inflated from the Panthers’ original plans due to the lengthy injuries to Damiere Byrd and Curtis Samuel. He trails Christian McCaffrey, Devin Funchess Carolina Panthers T-Shirt , Torrey Smith, Jarius Wright, Ian Thomas, and Chris Manhertz in snaps on an offense that doesn’t prioritize throwing to wide receivers. Former Panthers receiver Muhsin Muhammad pointed out as much yesterday.Meanwhile, Ridley has barely trailed the Falcons top running back in snaps. His opportunities have been more frequent. They also have not been equal. Moore doesn’t line up across the field from Julio Jones. The Panthers don’t have any threat against an opponent’s secondary that is going to make his transition easier Carolina Panthers Hats , let alone a top three receiver. I’d be willing to bet that Moore could have matched Ridley’s 264 yards and six touchdowns through his first four games if he were on the Falcons.Head coach Ron Rivera has also long made a lot of noise about the Panthers offense not being a quick study for rookie wide receivers. This was his chorus during the developments of Kelvin Benjamin, Funchess, and Samuel. Whether or not that is a good or a bad thing is irrelevant to the argument that Moore is a disappointment. He hasn’t had the chance to be. Right now he is exactly where we thought he would be this season. Every week a Panthers coach is talking about finding ways to get him on the field more instead of making excuses for his health or development. This isn’t the team that drafted Benjamin and Moore hasn’t had the opportunity to make us suspicious of his talent. There is a reason why Ridley has four times the target volume that Moore has. His opportunities have come while his 1-3 team has been chasing points all season. That Ridley has taken advantage of them speaks well for him. It doesn’t say anything about Moore.
NFL announces findings of workplace misconduct investigation The news broke via a league statement that the NFL had finally concluded its investigation of former Panthers owner Jerry Richardson. It’s a lot to unpack http://www.carolinapanthersteamonline.com/mario-addison-jersey , but here are the bullet points. The reported allegations were highlighted, however there were other allegations considered that were not of public record. The report was not intended to confirm or reject details, but it did substantiate some of the claims made. The improper conduct in this investigation was limited to Jerry Richardson, meaning the resignation of Curtis Fuller was not directly because of this investigation.Neither Richardson nor the organization reported to the NFL the claims or the non-public agreements to resolve said claims.Nearly all of the proceeds from this fine will go to organizations addressing race and gender-based transgressions. The organization has since developed a strict handling of workplace misconduct and sexual assault claims, as well as adding outside agencies to help with training the employees.Mary Jo White also recommended several things to the league as a whole; the establishment of a specific prohibition against non disclosure agreements, a specific requirement to report workplace misconduct to the League Office, establish a confidential hotline for employees to report these transgressions, and review best practices. The Panthers have released an official statement regarding the matter:My TakeI think I can speak on behalf of all of the CSR staff and say thank you to White for a very targeted and thorough investigation. It truly rocked many of us to see the head of the organization accused of these things, and I’m hoping some of the victims can find some closure and see justice was done. The recommendations should be applied league wide, I see no question of that and any push back by owners should be met with criticism. As for the amount... I mean. Jerry Richardson just sold the team for $2.275 billion dollars. That’s a drop in the bucket. I’m not an expert on what the NFL regards as fair punishment here, but the league was fining Marshawn Lynch $100k for REFUSING TO TALK TO THE MEDIA. Oh Authentic Taylor Moton Jersey , and not to mention the $1+ million fines for PEDs, such as the one Thomas Davis received for a substance that reportedly had never been an illegal substance before.Regardless of that, I’m glad the NFL is making moves to prevent this from happening in the future. Nobody deserves to be sexually assaulted or racially discriminated against, especially not at their place of work. Not in 2018. Not ever.Carolina Panthers TE Ian Thomas is the next generation of Keep Pounding With 51 days left to go until the Carolina Panthers kick off the season against the Dallas Cowboys, Bradley Smith wrote a stellar tribute piece talking about the only man who will ever sport the number 51 again for the black and blue, Sam Mills. That article got me thinking again about his inspirational “Keep Pounding” speech and the incredible playoff run it inspired, and about how his legacy and message of overcoming adversity transferred perfectly into the living body of Thomas Davis.Thomas Davis has been an incredible standard bearer for the Keep Pounding mantra over his NFL career, enduring an astounding amount of knee surgeries (three to be exact) while continuing to perform at an All-Pro level, and even playing in the Super Bowl with a broken arm. Now a cagey veteran, the team is going to have to start to consider a time without TD on the field. It could be as early as next offseason, but it also could be a little longer according to TD himself. Either way http://www.carolinapanthersteamonline.com/wes-horton-jersey , the on-field legacy is going to need a new host. Thomas Davis is perfectly healthy and will hopefully live a long life after football, and I’m sure he’ll maintain that same driven spirit, but the team needs a guy on the field that exhibits that virtue, that tenacity to overcome and prevail, someone who just has “the stuff” Sam Mills talked about baked into his bones.Enter Ian Thomas, a mid-round rookie tight end with an inspirational backstory that anyone can cheer for, but has yet to play a down in the NFL. Panthers.com did an amazing video outlining his story that I highly recommend you all watch:If that doesn’t move you, quite frankly, you can’t be my friend. I want all the best for this kid, and I want his NFL career to be a keynote on what is already an inspiring life.Obviously, both Sam Mills and Thomas Davis have a long list of on-field accomplishments to go with their stories and right now we have no idea about Ian Thomas the player Authentic Trai Turner Jersey , but we have received a great look into Ian Thomas the man. That ability to rise above and turn each hard-earned inch into a mile, that’s the stuff that inhabited Mills, still inhabits Davis, and oozes from the pores of the Keep Pounding mantra. Time still has yet to write the NFL story of Ian Thomas, but the book is hard leather bound, the pages are crisp and resilient, and the desk is sturdy. May the spirit of Sam Mills guide the hand over the pages in a way that honors a great off-field story with a tremendous on-field legacy.KEEP POUNDING.
And he wasn't alone. The rookie quarterback and New York's offense struggled with mistakes http://www.authenticsmiamidolphins.com/cheap-akeem-spence-jersey , turnovers and missed opportunities as the Jets fell 20-12 to the Miami Dolphins in the team's home opener Sunday. Darnold believes there will be better performances ahead."Every loss that we have as a team and every loss that I have as an individual, whether it's a game or whether it's a play," Darnold said, "I'm going to take that as a lesson that I can learn from."Darnold finished 25 of 41 for 334 yards and a touchdown, but was intercepted twice in his second NFL start and couldn't get the offense moving consistently until late in the game."You never want to be behind, but I thought for a quarter there, we did a good job of fighting our way back," Darnold said. "I think for a quarter and a half, we did a good job of fighting our way back. We came up a little short."The Jets (1-1) were also victims of bad field position as Dolphins punter Matt Haack consistently pinned New York back in its territory. Only once in 12 possessions did the Jets start a drive better than their 25, and that came early in the fourth quarter when they got the ball at their 41 after Avery Williamson recovered a fumbled snap by Ryan Tannehill.New York also struggled in the run game, gaining 42 yards after getting 169 against the Lions."It's not just placed on the quarterback," coach Todd Bowles said. "We can win offensively http://www.authenticsmiamidolphins.com/cheap-josh-sitton-jersey , defensively and on special teams. We can do it a lot better."At least Darnold got off to a more promising start than in the Jets' opener at Detroit last Monday night, when his first NFL pass was intercepted and returned for a touchdown. He completed two of his first three passes on New York's opening drive in this one.But on the Jets' second possession, Darnold's intended for Quincy Enunwa was intercepted by T.J. McDonald. The Dolphins safety avoided a few tackle attempts and returned it 31 yards to New York's 15."I didn't see him," Darnold said. "That's another learning experience that I had."After two run plays for 9 yards, Kenyan Drake took the handoff up the middle for a 6-yard run to give the Dolphins a 7-0 lead.Miami took advantage of another turnover after Darnold completed a 10-yard pass to Robby Anderson, who had the ball knocked out of his hands by Kiko Alonso. Raekwon McMillan recovered for the Dolphins at the Jets 49, giving Miami a short field.Jakeem Grant took a pitch from Tannehill and gained 5 yards, but Buster Skrine grabbed him by the facemask for a 15-yard penalty. On the next play, Albert Wilson took a short pass from Tannehill, slipped out of Skrine's diving tackle attempt and took off down the sideline for a 29-yard touchdown.Just like that, New York was down 14-0.The Jets went three-and-out on their next possession, but made another mistake on defense that had the effect of a turnover when Henry Anderson's sack of Tannehill on third-and-6 was negated by a holding penalty on Morris Claiborne. Two plays later Youth Kenny Stills Jersey , Tannehill connected with A.J. Derby for a 19-yard touchdown.New York showed some life just before halftime, starting with a 44-yard completion from Darnold to Terrelle Pryor.A few plays later, Darnold completed a pass to Chris Herndon, who fumbled, recovered and tried to get into the end zone, but was tackled at the 1 as time expired."I should've done what I had to do to get in," the rookie tight end said.Darnold and the Jets answered right back to begin the third quarter with a solid drive capped by a 28-yard touchdown catch by Bilal Powell. Jason Myers missed the extra point, making it 20-6.The Jets, coming off a 48-17 rout of Detroit on Monday night, appeared in great shape when Jordan Jenkins forced and recovered a fumble after a strip-sack of Tannehill gave New York the ball at the Miami 12. But, Darnold's pass to Pryor on the next play was intercepted in the end zone by Howard."We've got to make them pay for turning the ball over and we just gave it right back to 'em," Darnold said. "That's not something you want to do. Again http://www.authenticsmiamidolphins.com/cheap-t.j.-mcdonald-jersey , I put that on myself. I could've put the ball up a little more, give T.P. a chance to go up and snag it with his big body and his long arms."Pryor, however, insisted that it was "really my fault" because of the way he ran the route, causing the turnover."I let him down on that play," Pryor said. "I told him after the game, 'I hope you forgive me.'"It's all part of the process with a rookie quarterback finding his way. Two games in 鈥?a win and a loss, some ups and some downs."There are some things he can do better," Bowles said of Darnold. "I'm not saying he played a great game, and I'm not saying he played a bad game. ... Regardless if you're young or old at the quarterback position, you want to take care of the football. It's not just Sam. We didn't play well. We didn't coach well. That's a credit to coach (Adam) Gase and his team."NFL Late Afternoon Games: Live Thread and Game Information Below is the list of the late afternoon NFL games for this week. The Miami Dolphins and Detroit Lions are complete with their Week 7 game, with the Lions winning 32-21.Immediate ReactionsThis game was just frustrating all day. The Dolphins defense could do nothing to stop the Lions ground game, and they had way too many arm tackle attempts that just failed. The offense never felt like it was in a rhythm until late in the game, with Brock Osweiler starting to find receivers with better consistency. It was an odd game because the team actually played well individually, but it just never came together as a team. The game never felt like Miami was in it, though they were not ever really being blown out either. It just felt like a “meh” type of game, which may be even worse than the anger the other two losses from this season created.RecapFirst QuarterThe Dolphins won the toss and will receive.Dolphins 1st possession. Three of the Ravens’ UDFAs with the best chance to secure a roster spot The Baltimore Ravens have a rich tradition of finding ‘diamonds in the rough.’ During the last 14 seasons Youth Za'Darius Smith Jersey , at least one undrafted free agent has made the final 53-man roster. In previous years, several undrafted free agents have turned into stars, but due to how deep Baltimore’s roster is, an UDFA may not be able to crack the 53-man roster this season.RB Gus EdwardsThe leader in the ‘UDFA Clubhouse’ is Gus Edwards, but if Kenneth Dixon can prove that he can stay healthy, the third running back spot would not open. Given Dixon’s injury history, he will have a lot to prove in the final three preseason games, but it is his job to lose.Edwards has been impressive in the first two preseason games. He has rushed for 93 yards off of 22 attempts, while also recording one reception for 23 yards. Edwards has displayed great vision and patience as a runner, but he has struggled at times in pass protection, which could be the key for any running back to ‘dethrone’ Kenneth Dixon. On an inside zone play, Edwards exploded through the hole and made one tackler miss en route to gaining 25 yards. This was his longest run of the preseason. His physicality as a runner is the most enticing aspect of his game. However Womens Terrell Suggs Jersey , it has been a mixed bag for Edwards in pass protection.Instead of running to the side, he should have picked up the unblocked linebacker running through the A-gap. This was poor awareness on his part, and almost every other quarterback would have been sacked on this play. If not for Jackson’s athletic ability, this would have been a significant loss on first down. Edwards redeemed himself in pass-protection on this play. He displayed solid awareness as he quickly identified the edge rusher and picked him up to allow Jackson to throw the ball. Plays like this will be critical for Edwards to earn a roster spot.RB Mark ThompsonThompson is behind Edwards on the depth chart, but he still has an outside chance to make the roster. He has displayed great patience, physicality, and instincts as a runner. Thompson has also showcased the ability to make an impact in the passing game. He has 23 rushing yards off of 11 attempts, while also adding four receptions for 39 yards. On a screen play, Thompson made three tacklers miss en route to picking up 29 yards. His ability to put his head down and gain extra yards is enticing. Javorius Allen is the primary pass-catching running back, but Thompson could carve out a role if he makes the team in this area as well. He has to show more as a runner if he wants to beat out Edwards and Dixon, but with three more preseason games, Thompson will likely have plenty of opportunities to do so.WR/KR Janarion GrantGrant had a golden opportunity against the Rams to gain ground on Tim White Cheap Lamar Jackson Jersey , and he did not fully capitalize on the situation. Grant had one kick return for 26 yards and two punt returns for zero yards. As a receiver, he had two catches for 32 yards, which was a step in the right direction. However, the Ravens do not need help at the wide receiver position, Grant’s path to the roster is simple: win the returner competition. Ravens head coach John Harbaugh perfectly explained Grant’s issues and what he needs to improve upon. “I thought he did well. One return he took it outside when he should’ve just gotten north. He’s done that twice now. But the other two returns he got them upfield and did very well – made some people miss, caught the ball well. Seemed like he did well,” Harbaugh stated, via the team’s official website. Grant tried to do too much on this return. He should have just went ‘north’ instead of trying to reverse fields and make a huge play. This play was called back due to a holding penalty, but Grant displayed the ability to make a couple of tacklers miss while only running ‘north and south.’ Instead of dancing around, he made the first defender miss and immediately went upfield. With Tim White back on the field, Grant will have to make the most of limited opportunities as a returner, but he has the natural ability. If it isn’t spit http://www.baltimoreravensteamauthentic.com/eric-weddle-jersey , you must acquit. Or something. The NFL did not fine Ravens offensive lineman Marshal Yanda for spitting on, or at, Bengals linebacker Vontaze Bufict last Sunday, according to Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com.Video of a skirmish that erupted in the fourth quarter of the Bengals-Ravens game created the potential impression that Yanda produced a glob of spit, knocked it away from his facemask, and caused it to drop in the direction of Burfict, who was on the ground at the time.“The video, some people are taking it crazy, but all I was doing was wiping the spit off my helmet, away from the ground,” Yanda said on Wednesday. “I swiped at it to make sure that it didn’t land on anybody. I don’t know if you guys know, during the course of a game Authentic Brandon Carr Jersey , I’m like a heavy spitter. The adrenaline is fired up, and I’m spitting all the time — sidelines, on the field, but not on anyone ever.”The NFL agreed, or at least the league concluded that the video evidence was inconclusive. Regardless, given Yanda’s propensity for producing spittle, he probably should have completely turned away from the fray when knocking the saliva string to the ground, to remove any doubt as to whether he intended for the spit to hit Burfict or anyone else.
Martindale Authentic Matt Skura Jersey , who has overwhelmingly embraced his new role as defensive coordinator of the Baltimore Ravens. After serving for five seasons as the team's linebackers coach, Martindale was promoted to coordinator in January after Dean Pees left the post.Enthusiastic doesn't even begin to describe Martindale's attitude about being in charge of the defense."Ever since we've made this transition, it's been a joy to just come through those gates every day. I love it," Martindale said after Wednesday's mandatory minicamp practice. This isn't the first time Martindale has been put in charge of molding a defense. In 2010, he watched over a unit in Denver that was the worst in the NFL in both yards and points allowed per game.Given a second chance, the 55-year-old Martindale is putting together a defense that will rely heavily on the instinct of several of its most proven players, most notably safety Eric Weddle and linebackers Terrell Suggs and C.J. Mosley."He's just putting his personal fix on our defense and expanding it, giving the guys confidence to play fast," Weddle said. "The idea is to do what's best for the defense, not what's best the individual."Martindale called Mosley "the quarterback" of a fluid unit that can make a snap-change from drop-back coverage to an all-out blitz. In that regard, Mosley believes this defense is superior to the one that in 2017 yielded 18.9 points per game, sixth-best in the NFL."The way we're able to use our core guys, put them in different spots and do some of the same things just from different positions, it's more creative, I would say, than where we were last year," Mosley said.Baltimore coach John Harbaugh promoted Martindale rather than go outside the organization because he wanted to extend his vision of a defense that has evolved since his arrival in 2008."All we're doing is forwarding John's plan http://www.ravenscheapstores.com/james-hurst-jersey-cheap ," Martindale said. "We're remodeling the package. It's still Ravens football, it's still Ravens defense, but we've streamlined it. It's the elegant simplicity. Guys are playing really fast."Asked for his take on Martindale's defense, Ravens offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg replied, "They're fast and they're furious."Sure, things might be different once the pads go on at training camp, but at this point, Martindale's boss likes what he sees."We're doing a lot of neat things on defense, things that are really good," Harbaugh said. "More than ever, we're putting it on our players to make decisions in real time."Martindale has a new title, but old habits die hard."For the most part, it's been the same," Mosley said. "He always comes in and says, 'I have to lead the linebacker room,' and sits down and gets to talking like he's back at linebacker coach."Told of Mosley's disclosure, Martindale smiled and said Youth Za'Darius Smith Jersey , "I've been trying to stay out of there, but you can't help but go in. That's home. I have a good time in the secondary room as well."And just about everywhere else."Where we're going with this thing is really exciting to me," Martindale said, "and I know it's exciting to the players."In other training camp news, cornerback Jimmy Smith was a surprise participant at practice, going through a light regimen of individual drills just six months after tearing his left Achilles tendon."I don't know if Jimmy's like half Wolverine, but he's healed up in half the time of regular human beings," Weddle said, referring to the amazing recuperative powers of the Marvel super hero. Lamar Jackson has won his first three starts and leads all rookies in winning percentage. However, he’ll have the toughest matchup of his young career in Week 14, facing off against the Kansas City Chiefs on the road. Coming off of a 40-33 win against the Oakland Raiders, Kansas City currently sits atop the AFC with a 10-2 record. Led by Patrick Mahomes at quarterback — who leads the league in passing touchdowns (41) — the Chiefs are ranked number one in points per game (37.0). The oft-discussed issue is how the Ravens are going to play keep away from the high-octane offense of the Chiefs. In recent weeks, Baltimore has been able to control the clock with Jackson’s ability to reinvigorate the running game. His average time of possession is 37:20 (stat courtesy of Russell Street Report’s Adam Bonaccorsi) — which is nearly two-thirds of an entire game. When a defense is able to stay fresh and stay off of the field, they tend to play better when they are on the field. Baltimore in particular has held true to this, allowing 21, 17 and 16 points respectively in the past three games with Jackson at quarterback. Despite the success of the defense with Jackson on the field, he doesn’t think about how his play affects them.“That’s not my job to think about that Womens Lamar Jackson Jersey ,” Jackson said. “I’m trying to score points on offense. So, whatever it takes, we’re going to try to help them out – keep the clock running, keep the ball in our possession.”Baltimore has faced a quarterback that is able to extend plays in Ben Roethlisberger. Mahomes has been able to do that and has taken off in his first year at the helm for Kansas City. His ability and zest for the game has been compared to Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre. Jackson noticed his ability at a young age, going back to when they were at camp together. “He’s a great quarterback,” Jackson stated of his quarterback contemporary. “I was at a Steve Clarkson [quarterback] camp with him. I’ve seen him throw. He’s a great quarterback. He’s awesome. I was his backup.”When going up against the Chiefs, Baltimore will have to score touchdowns — plain and simple. When heading on the road against the top scoring offense in the NFL, no team can afford to trade blows against them. Baltimore cannot afford to leave points on the field because Kansas City can put points on the board in a hurry. “No, I wouldn’t say it’s ‘pressure’ — that’s just our job,” said Jackson. “I would say me — not even my teammates — they’ve been doing a great job out there. I just feel like we need to get the ball in the end zone, get the ball to the receivers as much as we can and just finish the runs and stuff like that, and we have.”Chances are that Jackson will start on Sunday, making it his fourth consecutive start. If he can capitalize on playing his game of ball control football, the Ravens have a successful blueprint that could lead them to the playoffs.

The last time they have done so was in 1998 against Green Bay (12/7/1998; 62-yard touchdown catch Bert Emanuel & 64-yard touchdown catch Jacquez Green).- On the ensuing possession, LB Kwon Alexander forced a fumble from Saints WR Michael Thomas, which was recovered by CB Ryan Smith.- Over the past three seasons (2016-18), Tampa Bay’s defense has been one of the best in the NFL at taking the ball away, ranking fourth in the NFL in takeaways, third in forced fumbles and leading the league in fumble recoveries.NFL MOST TAKEAWAYS (2016-18)1.Baltimore Ravens 642.Kansas City Chiefs59*3.Philadelphia Eagles584.Tampa Bay Buccaneers575.Arizona Cardinals49**Does not include Week 14 gameNFL MOST FORCED FUMBLES (2016-18)1.Arizona Cardinals38*1.Dallas Cowboys 38*3.Tampa Bay Buccaneers364.Carolina Panthers33*4.San Francisco 49ers 33*Does not include Week 1 gameNFL MOST FUMBLE RECOVERIES (2016-18)1.Tampa Bay Buccaneers272.Kansas City Chiefs25*3.Oakland Raiders23*4.Baltimore Ravens 225.Dallas Cowboys 21*5.Carolina Panthers21*5.Philadelphia Eagles215.San Francisco 49ers 21*Does not include Week 1 game- Tampa Bay’s sixth touchdown of the game came when Fitzpatrick threw a 36-yard score to DeSean Jackson to end a six-play, 65-yard lasting 3:07. Let’s crack open our first batch of off-season superlatives!MOST LIKELY TO BE RELEASED: WIDE RECEIVER, DESEAN JACKSONAaron Doster-USA TODAY SportsAnytime you try something for the first time it’s best to take it slow at first. For example, maybe don’t head to the black diamond slopes the first time you strap on skis. Also, if it’s your first time giving your kid peanut butter, maybe don’t go with afull blown PB&J. So, in the spirit of easing into this http://www.authenticstampabaybuccaneers.com/cheap-chandler-catanzaro-jersey , let’s go with the low-hanging fruit. Wide receiver, Desean Jackson is easily the Buccaneers player under contract for the 2019 season who is most likely to be released. But, what about Gerald McCoy? Well, McCoy is younger - not much, but still - and there’s no doubt he could add something to an opposing roster if they have a need at defensive tackle.Jackson is obviously older, and has had just one 1,000-yard season in his last four. Sure, it could be Jameis Winston’s fault. Or Ryan Fitzpatrick’s. Remember, Jackson started with three 100-yard games with Fitzpatrick to start the season, but also had four games under it with the same starting quarterback. You know what, maybe it was Kirk Cousin’s fault in Washington. Either way, Jackson has never strung together three consecutive 1,000-yard seasons in his career. And he’s only eclipsed 1,100-yards twice. What are the chances he’s going to do it now, turning 33 down the final stretch of the 2019 season? The final cherry on top of the release sundae, is of course his desire to leave Tampa Bay.Teams likely wouldn’t offer much of anything - if anything - in a trade for Jackson just because of all the stuff I wrote above this. But add to it he’s not holding back on his desire to leave the team, and there’s zero leverage to force anyone into a trade.MOST LIKELY TO BE TRADED: DEFENSIVE TACKLE, GERALD MCCOYAaron Doster-USA TODAY SportsOk, so this is another easy one. McCoy has been on the team a long time. In fact, he’s the only face Bucs fans can directly associate with every single season of this latest stretch of misery put on by the franchise. As unfair as it may be, McCoy is the final piece of the losing culture which was there when the whole thing started to climb to it’s current pitch. Which is why so many are on board with seeing him sporting different colors in 2019.Add to it that his get off is still one of the best in the game, and there might be a team (Rams) inside a Super Bowl window (Rams) who could see the value in adding a veteran defender (Rams) and just so happen to understand how to have a hole opening up at defensive tackle (Rams).MOST LIKELY TO BE REPLACED BY A DRAFT PICK: CORNERBACK http://www.authenticstampabaybuccaneers.com/cheap-donovan-smith-jersey , BRENT GRIMESKim Klement-USA TODAY SportsFor one, it’s all but guaranteed Grimes’ days in Tampa Bay are done. His days in the NFL might be done. Either way, if your secondary needs an upgrade, you’re not likely to find it by bringing back Grimes who is on the wrong side of 30 and just doesn’t fit what is needed in what we expect the Bucs defense to look like in 2019. He’s not physical enough, and isn’t quick enough to play off coverage with enough consistency to be left on an island. Not happening. So, while it’s possible Jason Licht might look to free-agency for this, my money is on the starting cornerback playing opposite of Carlton Davis III being a rookie drafted in the second-round.I’d love a guy like Byron Murphy, but my money is on a day-two prospect like Julian Love (Notre Dame) or Deandre Baker (Georgia) getting the shot to replace Grimes early-on.MOST LIKELY TO BE REPLACED BY A FREE-AGENT: RUNNING BACK, PEYTON BARBERKim Klement-USA TODAY SportsIt pains me to say this because I’m a big fan and supporter of Peyton Barber. That being said, there was not enough consistent production out of the backfield for the Buccaneers in 2018 and I don’t see coach Arians wanting to sit on his hands here.Barber will likely be back, he’s a restricted free-agent, so the Bucs have all the leverage here. But being on the roster and not being replaced as a starter are two different things.Ronald Jones’ career has gotten an early breathe of fresh-air by the hiring of Arians and Byron Leftwich, but why stand pat when the team could bring in a third member to really give the group some juice?Mark Ingram is, and will be, a popular name. If Jones can step up in year two, then Tampa Bay could literally take a run at replicating what New Orleans did with Ingram and Alvin Kamara the past two seasons.T.J. Yeldon will likely be looking for a new start, and playing with a passing attack who actually threatens defenses would do the former Alabama stand-out some good.Don’t forget, Arians was high on Ameer Abdullah coming out of Nebraska, and at 26-years old the Bucs may take a run at him this off-season.Oh, and Kareem Hunt still needs a job.MOST LIKELY TO WIN THE SUPER BOWL WITH A NEW TEAM IN 2019-20: TIGHT END, CAMERON BRATEKevin Jairaj-USA TODAY SportsNobody likes the thought of their favorite player going somewhere else and watching them win a ring while your team sits at home.Unfortunately, Bucs fans have gotten used to it over the years. Two prime candidates to move on from Tampa Bay and find new homes for 2019 are Cameron Brate and Adam Humphries.Humphries is a free-agent Youth Lavonte David Jersey , but Brate is under contract. However, the whole two tight-end domination thing never really panned out, and O.J. Howard is a clear-cut number one player at his position. The problem with all of this though, is Howard’s injury history in just two NFL seasons.More on that at another time. If Brate were to be traded, there are some franchises who could use his services and may view him as a crucial key to their Super Bowl dreams - meaning they’d pay more. They are:NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTSThe Patriots are no strangers to bringing in talent for short stints and getting them a ring along the way.Rob Gronkowski isn’t the same player he once was, and really can’t ever seem to be healthy. I think smart money is on Gronk retiring after this latest Super Bowl win, and if the Patriots want to get Tom Brady and Bill Belichick another ring, they will need a suitable replacement.LOS ANGELES RAMSGerald Everett had one target for no catches and no yards and absolutely no impact on the Super Bowl.If the Rams want to repeat as NFC Champions and have a shot at winning next year’s title-fight, they’ll need to get some weapons who can actually produce when Todd Gurley is “not injured”.Brate would be one.DALLAS COWBOYSIf there is a team which rivals the Patriots in league-wide hatred, it might be this one. But with Amari Cooper, Dak Prescott, and Ezekiel Elliott all the Cowboys are missing is a legitimate threat in the middle of the field to open it all up for them.Every great Cowboys team had a contributor at the tight end spot. They don’t have one right now.LOS ANGELES CHARGERSSeems Brate may be destined for a move back to California. Philip Rivers may never get a ring, but if he’s going to, he’ll need to find a solid tight end to replace his favorite target and long-time running mate Antonio Gates. The Chargers have a running game, good receivers and a capable defense.Upgrades in some key areas and the addition of Brate would make them a true contender in the AFC, and might get Rivers a crack at the Lombardi.
The Buccaneers and Saints have released their lists of inactive players ahead of their week fourteen game. For the Buccaneers White Ryan Smith Jersey , we already knew receiver DeSean Jackson would miss his second straight game while safeties Justin Evans and Isaiah Johnson would both be held out with injuries. For the Saints, tackle Terron Armstead was already ruled out and despite missing practice on Wednesday, receiver Michael Thomas will indeed play. Here are the full inactive lists for each team;Tampa Bay Buccaneers:WR - DeSean JacksonS - Justin EvansS - Isaiah JohnsonCB - Carlton DavisLB - Riley BulloughQB - Ryan GriffinDT - Rakeem Nunez-RochesNew Orleans Saints:T - Terron ArmsteadLB - Manti Te’oWR - Brandon MarshallTE - Dan ArnoldC - Will ClappDE - Trey HendricksonDT - Mitchell LoewenLook for another heavy dose of Chris Godwin in Jackson’s absence while the makeshift secondary looks to catch lightning in a bottle for a second consecutive week.Stock up, stock down: Bears vs. Chiefs The preseason is in the books for any Bears player that will make an impact in Week 1. While a few key rotational and backup spots were played out on Saturday at Soldier Field, there wasn’t much in the way of key contributors. There is still a lot to dissect, though. Here are players that shined and some that didn’t against the Chiefs. Stock upJavon Wims, WR - Wims made this team Saturday in all likelihood. Against Kansas City’s starters Youth Justin Evans Jersey , the Georgia product managed to make some big plays and scored an athletic, toe-tapping touchdown. Wims appears to be a potential gem find in the seventh round, although his path to being a rookie contributor seems unlikely unless there is an injury run.Isaiah Irving, OLB - I could lump Kylie Fitts in here too because both were great last weekend. Irving gets the nod due to his six tackles, which tied for the Bears team lead. He also had a sack, two quarterback hits, and a tackle for loss. Fitts had a sack and two quarterback hits.Ben Braunecker http://www.authenticstampabaybuccaneers.com/cheap-beau-allen-jersey , TE - “Braunk” made the most of his opportunities, catching two of three targets for 31 yards. That wasn’t eye-popping, but Braunecker seemed comfortable and looked decent as a blocker. Stock downDeiondre Hall, CB - Hall played a ton and tied for the team lead in tackles, but according to Pro Football Focus, he was targeted the most with six passes coming his way (tied for the team lead with Kevin Tolliver). In the process, Hall allowed four catches for 54 yards http://www.authenticstampabaybuccaneers.com/cheap-jason-pierre-paul-jersey , including 45 yards coming after the catch. Hall will get a long look on Thursday against the Bills. With his upcoming suspension coming, it appears he could be a long shot.Taquan Mizzell, RB - Mizzell excited some fans when he signed with the team last year, but he hasn’t show much in the way of playmaking. He is averaging just 2.3 yards per carry this preseason and doesn’t look like an NFL back. For comparison, Nall has three more carries than Mizzell but is averaging 5.1 YPC. Bradley Sowell, T - Sowell was pushed around again and then, through no fault of his own Youth Gerald McCoy Jersey , got caught up in a pile and was rolled up on by a teammate. Sowell has struggled before the injury and now with his availability in question, the Bears need to look to find a swing tackle they feel comfortable with heading into the regular season.
Addressing the defensive end position needs to be a priority in the 2019 draft. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Carolina invest a first or second round pick at the position. But since the Panthers still have their picks in Rounds 4 through 6 (they traded Round 7 in the 2017 Kevon Seymour deal) I wanted to explore how likely it would be for Carolina to land a solid defensive end in the later rounds. You know http://www.authenticscarolinapanthers.com/cheap-da_norris-searcy-jersey , finding a “sleeper”, a term almost all of us have used before with either late Panthers picks in years past or during our own fantasy drafts. But how likely is it that the Panthers can actually land a solid defensive end in the late rounds? One way to assess this is to simply look at the draft position of today’s “good” defensive ends. For “good” defensive ends I used Football Reference’s Approximate Value (AV) from 2018 and found a natural cutoff point at an AV of five or higher. I then cross-referenced AV with free, public data from Pro Football Focus and feel comfortable that while this list isn’t perfect, it’s at least directionally correct (full spreadsheet here). Here are the draft positions of the Top 32 defensive ends in 2018 as rated by AV:Not surprisingly, 18 of the 32 best defensive ends in 2018 were drafted in the first two rounds, but it did raise my eyebrows a bit to see an even split of nine first rounders and nine second rounders. Only six of the top 32 were drafted between rounds 4 through 7, so the odds aren’t great for the Panthers finding a sleeper. As a frame of reference, the six solid defensive ends drafted in the later rounds are Everson Griffen (4th), Alex Okafor (4th) http://www.authenticscarolinapanthers.com/cheap-wes-horton-jersey , Brent Urban (4th), D.J. Reader (5th), Darius Philon (6th), and Stephen Weatherly (7th). Now, let’s look at the “hit rate” of late-round picks at defensive end. While this is an arbitrary number on my part, a solid NFL career can last eight years if not longer. Based on data from Football Reference a total of 92 defensive ends were drafted in Round 4 or later between 2011 and 2018. In all, of the 92 defensive ends drafted between Round 4 and 7 over the last eight years only six are among the NFL’s Top 32, putting the hit rate at just 6.5 percent (six of 92). Another interesting observation is four undrafted free agents are among the NFL’s better defensive ends. This includes our very own Mario Addison, Romeo Okwara http://www.authenticscarolinapanthers.com/cheap-c.j.-anderson-jersey , Michael Bennett, and Cameron Wake. However, every year upwards of 500 UDFAs get signed every year, so good luck if that’s your path forward. If history continues to repeat itself the Panthers aren’t going to find a quality starter in the back half of the draft, though I would be delighted if they proved me wrong. This isn’t a shocking conclusion in and of itself, but it really illustrates just how rare it is to find true quality at defensive end in Round 4 or later. If anyone is holding out hope for a late-round defensive end sleeper, it’s probably time to wake up and smell the data. The NFL Draft calendar spans 365 days a year, but the scouting process really began to heat up this week in St. Petersburg during the practices of the East-West Shrine Game. This event isn’t as high profile as next week’s Senior Bowl, but there is always talent to be found. Some notable alumni from last year’s event includes Phillip Lindsay http://www.authenticscarolinapanthers.com/cheap-michael-palardy-jersey , Poona Ford, Kenny Young, Chase Edmunds, DaeSean Hamilton, and Avonte Maddox. Here are five names to keep an eye on during tomorrow’s game. Daniel Wise (DL, Kansas)Daniel Wise is the younger brother of Patriots edge rusher Deatrich Wise. Wise has been a consistent force during the practices according to several people in attendance. When watching his film, Wise displays plenty of quickness to work himself into the backfield. Wise is also known for his ability to disengage from blockers thanks to his strong hands and leverage when taking on blockers. Wise lined up in every position on the defensive line for the Jayhawks. His best position at the next level will likely be at 3-technique. He can leverage his quickness on passing downs, but he also has the functional strength to disengage and force stops against the runs. Daylon Mack (NT, Texas A&M)The former Aggie’s strong practices in St. Petersburg has not gone unnoticed. He received an invite to next week’s Senior Bowl in Mobile as a result. Mack was mainly lined up as a 1-technique or nose tackle in A&M’s defensive front. My first impressions on his film did not go well. Granted Youth Luke Kuechly Jersey , Clemson has great talent on their offensive line but Mack didn’t play with enough leverage to win against power. I’ll be curious how Mack does during next week’s Senior Bowl practices, but for now I was uninspired by his play.Devine Ozigbo (RB, Nebraska)My favorite prospect from this year’s Shrine game is Devine Ozigbo. Rotoworld’s Josh Norris compared him to Matt Breida and I totally see that comparison. Ozigbo has burst, short area quickness, and runs after contact very well. He has issues in pass protection, but his skill set is appealing. Terry Godwin (WR, Georgia)Godwin was part of a productive offense in Georgia, but he didn’t put up eye popping stats. He’s short in stature, but he can produce big plays for an offense. He works through contact at the line of scrimmage and then shows the ability to separate downfield. Godwin also has the short area quickness to catch defenders flat footed. He has precise footwork http://www.authenticscarolinapanthers.com/cheap-graham-gano-jersey , but also wonderful burst to outrun defenders. Olisaemeka Udoh (OT, Elon)A small school offensive tackle prospect from North Carolina who was on my radar last year was North Carolina A&T’s Brandon Parker. This year’s version is Oli Udoh, who was invited to the Senior Bowl yesterday. I had no experience with Udoh prior to this week’s practices, but when footage like this came out it caught my attention. Next week’s Senior Bowl will provide a better glimpse into Udoh’s overall game against better competition, but he should certainly be on your radar leading up to April’s draft.
ESPN puts Devin Funchess at the top of ‘Tier 2’ in their No. 1 wide receiver rankings ESPN’s Mike Clay collaborated with the NFL writers at the four-letter network to rank each team’s top wide receiver. To make things easier Cheap Shaq Thompson Jersey , they broke down the receivers into four tiers.Clear No. 1sNot-quite No. 1sEmerging No. 1sCommittee attacksAs you probably expected, Carolina Panthers wideout Devin Funchess is not in the top tier. However, he is the first name listed in Tier 2, the ‘Not-quite No. 1s’ group. Here’s what ESPN Panthers reporter David Newton and Clay had to say about Funchess:My takeI think their analysis and ranking of Funchess is fair. He’s not quite a true No. 1 wide receiver yet, but he has the potential to be one. He’s a solid ‘No. 1.5 receiver’ who should be a much relied upon weapon in the Panthers’ offense this season, and if you ask me (which I know you didn’t but I’m going to ignore that and answer anyway) I’ll take solid production from him any day http://www.pantherscheapshop.com/cheap-authentic-torrey-smith-jersey , regardless of which number you want to put beside his name on the depth chart. Call him whatever you want—No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, whatever—catches and touchdowns are what matter to me.What do you think, Panthers fans? Is the top of Tier 2 a fair assessment of Funchess? Why or why not? Share your thoughts with us!Panthers add quarterback Connor Cook to practice squad; Kendrick Norton and Jeremiah Sirles released The Panthers have made some moves along the fringe of the roster, according to Jourdan Rodrigue of the Charlotte Observer. The injury settlement with Sirles comes as a bit of a surprise http://www.pantherscheapshop.com/cheap-authentic-jarius-wright-jersey , as the move suggests that the versatile lineman wasn’t in the Panthers’ plans despite starting the team’s penultimate preseason contest. Depending on the severity of Sirles’ injury and the terms of the settlement, the Panthers could technically re-sign him later this season, but that kind of move rarely happens. The addition of quarterback Connor Cook to the practice squad gives the Panthers four quarterbacks across the active roster and practice squad. To make room for Michigan State’s all time leading passer, the Panthers waived 2018 seventh round pick Kendrick Norton. It’s usually not a good look for a team to cut a draft pick in their first season, but at the 242nd selection Norton was nothing more than a glorified undrafted free agent. As for Cook, he was selected in the 4th round of the 2016 draft by the Oakland Raiders Cheap Ian Thomas Jersey , where he spent the first two seasons of his career. His first NFL action came in the final game of the 2016 season, where he filled in for an injured Matt McGloin. Against a tough Broncos defense, the rookie completed 14 of 21 passes for 150 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception. The following week he made his first career start, the first quarterback in the Super Bowl era to do so in a playoff game Mike Adams Jersey , against the Houston Texans, and it did not go well. He completed just 18 of 45 passes for 161 yards and a touchdown to go along with three interceptions as the Raiders lost the contest 27-14. He didn’t see the field in 2017 and was released by the Raiders last week after they traded for AJ McCarron. Despite the early ups and downs, Cook comes with more NFL pedigree than any quarterback on the Panthers roster not named Cam Newton. He might prove to not have it what it takes to succeed in the NFL, but it’s good to see the Panthers take a flier on a young quarterback with a decent amount of potential.
This is the most important week of the year in fantasy sports Jesse Davis Jersey , reserved for an exclusive club of those who have made it to the finals. We are well past the days of scrambling for potential future standouts on the waiver wire. If you are still playing for something this week, it's sort of a reward for your efforts in free agency. You may have key players that you landed from the waiver wire and at this point, much of your starting lineup is established. Not much room for any newcomers who have not contributed enough statistically throughout the year to suddenly land on your roster when it counts the most. But there are some instances where injuries will force you to add a free agent in hopes they can deliver you a championship in one game.Plus, many fantasy players play matchups in their flex spots. Here are some final adds who could potentially plug a hole and contribute to your title:RUNNING BACKJAMAAL WILLIAMS, Packers (12.1 percent owned): It looks like Aaron Jones will miss this week's upcoming game against the Jets because of a sprained knee. Williams stepped in as the top RB for the Packers last week and rushed for 55 yards and a TD on a dozen carries. New York is 10th vs, opposing RBs in fantasy points per game allowed Authentic Bobby McCain Jersey , but Williams should get enough of a workload to merit flex consideration.KALEN BALLAGE, Dolphins (0.5): The rookie took advantage of his first prime opportunity for playing time last week, rushing for 123 yards on 12 carries vs. Minnesota, including a 75-yard scoring run. Frank Gore is done for the rest of the season with a foot injury and Ballage could now take over a bigger role in the Miami backfield beginning this week. But he is a risky play because he has not been on the field much this year and the Jaguars rank fifth in FFPG allowed to running backs.KEITH FORD, Bills (0.0): Injuries have decimated the Buffalo backfield to the point where this undrafted rookie may have to start against New England. Ford carried 14 times for 46 yards in Week 15 and should only be utilized as a super desperation play in larger leagues.WIDE RECEIVERROBERT FOSTER, Bills (3.3): Don't be shy because of the reputation of the Buffalo passing game. There is nothing else Foster needs to do to prove he deserves starting consideration for lineups. He's the one true waiver gem still remaining out there Youth Jakeem Grant Jersey , with three 100-yard games and four of 90-plus in his last five.JORDY NELSON, Raiders (32.6): Many have written him off in his post Green Bay days, but Nelson has resurfaced recently to post quality totals, especially in point-per-reception leagues, where he has logged three consecutive double figure performances. Nelson has 22 receptions in his past three games. The Broncos are 18th in FFPG against opposing WRs, so Nelson could deliver another respectable outing this week.DAESEAN HAMILTON http://www.dolphinsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-vincent-taylor-jersey , Broncos (24.1): He was added in 18.5 percent of leagues last week and needs to be taken off the waiver list in more if he is still available. The rookie has caught seven passes in each of the last two games on 21 targets and appears to have the confidence of QB Case Keenum. Hamilton is getting looks on all types of routes and appears to be emerging as the most viable Broncos WR with Emmanuel Sanders out. DAVIE, Fla. (AP) — Ryan Tannehill is throwing the ball 50 yards in side sessions, and the Miami Dolphins would love to see those passes in a game.Maybe this week.Tannehill made progress during the team's bye week in his rehabilitation from a throwing shoulder injury, and remains on schedule to meet his goal of returning Sunday at Indianapolis. There are significant hurdles yet to be cleared. Coach Adam Gase said Monday he didn't even know whether Tannehill will participate fully in practice this week, but sounded upbeat about his quarterback's recent progress."I feel like it is forever since I've seen him throw," Gase said. "To me he looks like what he once looked like."Brock Osweiler has gone 2-3 starting for Tannehill. The injury-plagued Dolphins are 5-5 and tied for sixth place in the AFC with the Colts and three other teams. The Dolphins' eagerness to get Tannehill back in the lineup is magnified because their offense has gone nine quarters without a touchdown. Osweiler's most recent scoring pass came four games ago.Tannehill has said he's resigned to throwing with pain the rest of the year because of an injury to his shoulder capsule in Week 5. He's now targeting receivers on the move Mike Gesicki Jersey , but his shoulder stamina remains a concern and needs to be tested by the intensity of practice, Gase said."He can throw it down the field now," Gase said. "It looks good. It's just all about how many times."Gase is wary of a setback and said he wants to decide soon on a starter for Sunday."I'm running out of time," he said. "We can't be wrong and start the week one way, and then flip when we get to Friday."Miami's first practice of the week — and first since Nov. 9 — will be Tuesday. While Tannehill's progress was encouraging, the Dolphins took another hit on the health front when they decided to place receiver-returner Jakeem Grant on injured reserve with a lower leg injury that required surgery. Grant ranks second in the NFL in both kickoff returns and punt returns. He was hurt in the loss at Green Bay a week ago Authentic Jerome Baker Jersey , and initially the team hoped he might return this year. Miami lost another dynamic receiver, Albert Wilson, to a season-ending hip injury in Week 7.Receiver DeVante Parker might return this week from a shoulder injury, Gase said. He said the status this week of starting offensive tackles Laremy Tunsil (knee) and Ja'Wuan James (knee) was uncertain. Cornerback Bobby McCain remained in the concussion protocol. The AFC race tightened Sunday with the Dolphins idle. They have a chance to make the playoffs for only the third time in the past 17 seasons even though they've been outgained by 787 yards and outscored by 57 points."It's who can have the best six-game season," Gase said. "To give ourselves a chance in December to create our own destiny — that's what we wanted when we started this thing."
Former FSU standout pass catcher and New York Giant Travis Rodolph has signed with the Dolphins practice squad Cheap Customized Miami Dolphins Jerseys , according to Omar Kelly of the Sun Sentinel. He fills the vacant spot left by tight end Nick O’Leary, who the team promoted to the active roster prior to last week’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals.Unfortunately, the newly minted Dolphin went down during his first practice with the team. Rudolph suffered a left leg injury and was seen limping off of the practice field with the help of a trainer. When asked to comment on the injury, head coach Adam Gase said “I saw it, but it didn’t look good.” The extent of the injury has not been confirmed as of the publishing of this article.Rudolph spent his college career with Florida State, where he recorded 153 receptions for 2,311 yards and 18 touchdowns over three seasons. The West Palm Beach, FL native went undrafted in the 2017 NFL draft, but was later signed by the Giants. He was waived during final roster cuts, but he signed with the team’s practice squad the next day. After New York’s wide receiver position was decimated by injuries last year, Rudolph was called up from the practice squad in early October. In seven games on the active roster, he totaled eight receptions for 101 yards.Rudolph made national headlines in August of 2016 when he visited a Tallahassee middle school and chose to sit with an autistic student during lunch who had been eating by himself.Miami Dolphins Week 3 defensive snaps counts in win over Oakland Raiders Yesterday Youth Mike Gesicki Jersey , we caught up on the Miami Dolphins’ Week 3 offensive snap counts from their win over the Oakland Raiders. Today, we pick up the defensive side of the ball. Normally, these posts will come out on Monday or Tuesday, depending on what else is happening, but I am behind, so we are only finishing them up now on Thursday. Our snap counts take a look at each position grouping and try to see why what happened in the game happened, and if the snap counts indicate anything. We also keep track of how many snaps each player has played on the season, as well as the percentage of possible snaps on the year.Time to get to the defense:Defensive endsPosPlayerWeek PlaysWeek %Week StatsSeason SnapsSeason %PosPlayerWeek PlaysWeek %Week StatsSeason SnapsSeason %The defensive line was a mess on Sunday, but not from the play on the field but rather the injuries that happened. Suddenly an incredibly deep defensive end grouping was down two major contributors as William Hayes tore an ACL and Andre Branch injured his knee. Where the Dolphins look to rotate players as much as possible to keep everyone fresh throughout the game, the team now had to rely more on Cameron Wake, Robert Quinn, and Charles Harris than they probably preferred. It did not come back to haunt them Womens Albert Wilson Jersey , but those snap counts were definitely not what was expected prior to the game.Defensive tacklesPosPlayerWeek PlaysWeek %Week StatsSeason SnapsSeason %PosPlayerWeek PlaysWeek %Week StatsSeason SnapsSeason %Defensive tackle was no better as Hayes typically rotates into here as well, while Akeem Spence was sent to the locker room early after being ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct. Davon Godchaux, Jordan Phillips, and Vincent Taylor all played fairly well, but again, it is not the ideal situation for Miami’s coaches, who want to see a constant rotation. LinebackersPosPlayerWeek PlaysWeek %Week StatsSeason SnapsSeason %PosPlayerWeek PlaysWeek %Week StatsSeason SnapsSeason %Linebacker was an interesting position this week. Kiko Alonso never comes off the field, which is not a surprise. Raekwon McMillan did see some down time this game, compared to Week 2 when he played 100 percent of the game. Baker went from 23 percent played to 61 percent, which could be a sign of the Raiders playing in base set more often, but could also be a sign that the coaches are trusting the rookie a little more in coverage. We will have to watch that throughout the next few weeks. Chase Allen suffered a foot injury during the game, which could explain why Stephone Anthony made his season debut.CornerbacksPosPlayerWeek PlaysWeek %Week StatsSeason SnapsSeason %PosPlayerWeek PlaysWeek %Week StatsSeason SnapsSeason %The Dolphins secondary was shaken up as well in this game Womens Bobby McCain Jersey , with safety Reshad Jones missing the game with a shoulder injury, which basically moved Minkah Fitzpatrick from nickel cornerback to free safety. He is still listed here because this is where he will likely see most of his snaps this season, but he definitely played safety for the Raiders game. That left Xavien Howard, Bobby McCain, and Torry McTyer to cover the cornerback spot, with the first two both playing nearly the entire game and McTyer playing almost half of it. The Dolphins struggled early in coverage, with the shift of players and Jones missing likely a big part of that. They seemed to settle down, and now have some experience for McTyer, which could be huge later in the year.SafetiesPosPlayerWeek PlaysWeek %Week StatsSeason SnapsSeason %PosPlayerWeek PlaysWeek %Week StatsSeason SnapsSeason %T.J. McDonald played the entire game, just as he has the last two games. Jones would have played 100 percent of the snaps as well, but his shoulder injury forced him to miss the contest. He is hopefully ready to return to the field this Sunday.

The Baltimore Ravens offense is off to one of its fastest starts in years, showing more explosiveness and consistency than any Joe Flacco led attack since 2014. It speaks a bit to how bad some of those units were over the last several seasons that this 2018 offense, which teeters between good and average depending on the week, is finally bringing some real excitement to a big play starved Baltimore fan base. The results can’t be argued with though Womens Brandon Williams Jersey , as the big plays have been there and the improvement is self evident. Part of the reason for this surge back to relevance is the commitment general manager Ozzie Newsome showed to infusing it with talent this past offseason. One of the players he sought out to bring life to the passing game was former Arizona Cardinal John “Smokey” Brown, a once highly thought of speed demon who saw his career derailed by injuries. In Baltimore though, the train is firmly back on the tracks as Brown has posted 28 receptions for 558 yards and four touchdowns through seven games. It’s fair to say the Ravens haven’t seen this type of consistent effort and explosiveness from a receiver since Steve Smith Sr. had a renaissance of his own in purple and black. Brown’s resurgence hasn’t just been good for his career, it’s been critical to the Ravens success this season. He has shown up in some of the biggest games of the season, as Brown has almost always been on the receiving end of a big passing play when it’s needed. This was evident in Week 2 against Cincinnati when he made big plays out of nothing to keep Baltimore in the game, as well as in Pittsburgh when he had an early touchdown and a long reception on a deep ball from Flacco. But this was maybe no more evident than on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints when the Ravens needed big plays to stay in the game against their toughest opponent all season.Brown made them, and in clutch moments too. His long catch and run near the end the first half set up Lamar Jackson for a short touchdown scamper, and his rabbit-from-a-hat touchdown with just seconds left should’ve forced overtime if not for an errant PAT kick.In an article in which he discusses Brown making the Ravens offense relevant for the first time in years Authentic Patrick Onwuasor Jersey , Pro Football Focus writer Ben Cooper discusses this play among a few other reasons why Brown has become invaluable to Flacco:Brown showing up the way he did against New Orleans signifies just how much his efforts have helped push this offense into a higher gear. For the first time since Steve Smith, Flacco has a receiver who is not only talented, but one he also seems to completely trust. That is an entirely different element to add onto a Ravens team that hasn’t had a consistent offense with a dominant X factor such as Brown making his presence felt. This has shown up in the first half of the season and they’ll need more of it from Brown down the stretch in order to end the season on a successful note. The obvious elephant in the room surrounding Brown, his inevitable contract negotiations, will hopefully be dealt with at a more appropriate time, But for now Ravens fans should enjoy the Smokey’s breakout while it’s still happening. They’ll need more strong play out of him in Charlotte on Sunday to end the first half of the season on the path to the playoffs.
Stat Predictions for Ravens vs. Bills Following an undefeated preseason http://www.ravenscheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-willie-snead-iv-jersey , the Ravens are looking to hit the ground running in Week 1. Taking on the Buffalo Bills at home, Baltimore is presented with a good opportunity to begin the 2018 regular season on a high note.Other than the fluid situation on the offensive line, the starters on both sides of the ball are unlikely to change between now and Sunday - barring any injuries. Joe Flacco and Alex Collins headline the first-team offense, which performed well in limited action during the preseason. So too did the defense, which is led once again by Terrell Suggs, C.J Mosley and several other notable playmakers.Looking to return to the postseason for the first time since 2014, a convincing Week 1 victory against Buffalo would be an excellent starting point. How will some of the Ravens key players perform? Joe Flacco – 19/30, 63.3% comp, 224 yards, 7.4 YPA, 2 TD, 0 INT Coming off a strong preseason showing, Flacco should be set up for an impressive home opener. The Bills secondary allowed roughly 230 passing yards per game last season, which ranked just 20th in the NFL. They were even worse in terms of completion percentage, where they placed 25th. Given the friendly match up and home-field advantage Cheap Hayden Hurst Jersey , expect Flacco to have a relatively accurate, mistake-free day. He may not have to throw too much, however, as there is a good chance Baltimore jumps out to a sizeable lead early. Alex Collins – 18 attempts, 72 yards, 4.0 YPC, 1 TD // 2 receptions, 17 yards In addition to their struggles in the defensive backfield, Buffalo also had difficulty stopping the run last season. They gave up an average of 4.3 YPC and 124.6 rushing yards per game, both of which placed in the bottom half of the league.Unlike last season, Collins begins this year as the unquestioned lead back. He only received three carries in the preseason and should be fresh come Sunday. If Baltimore can get out to a good start offensively and maintain the lead, then they will look to control the tempo by running the ball. Regardless of the game flow, Collins figures to see a heavy workload and should find running room against a porous Buffalo run defense. There is a solid chance he finds the end zone too.Michael Crabtree – 5 receptions, 62 yards, 12.4 YPC Eric Weddle Jersey , 1 TD Crabtree figures to be shadowed by Tre’Davious White for much of the game. White is a talented, second-year player who was the fifth highest-graded cornerback by Pro Football Focus last season. He could make things tough on Crabtree throughout the contest. While he may not rack up a lot of yardage, Crabtree should still find ways to get involved. Flacco will look his way early and often, and a high-volume of targets should equal a solid stat line for Crabtree. John Brown – 4 receptions, 69 yards, 17.3 YPC Outside of White, the Bills lack many playmakers in the secondary. Crabtree will garner most of the attention, which could set up a productive day for John “Smokey” Brown. Brown has generated a lot of hype this offseason, reaping the praise of coaches and teammates alike. Him and Flacco have developed a solid rapport throughout training camp, and we saw it on display in the preseason matchup against the Colts. Brown possesses elite speed and big-play ability, much like many of the Baltimore receivers before him such as Torrey Smith and Mike Wallace. He should find himself open for several big chunks of yardage on Sunday. Willie Snead IV – 4 receptions, 42 yards, 10.5 YPC Snead, the other newcomer at the wide receiver position, should also be involved in his regular season debut as a Raven. His ability to make plays in the slot will prove valuable Cheap Za'Darius Smith Jersey , particularly on intermediate routes and third-down conversions. He is not much of a red zone or big-play threat, but Snead should find space to make plays over the middle of the field given the Bills’ suspect coverage. Defensive Statistics: 2 interceptions, 1 forced fumble, 4 sacks After tying for the league-lead in takeaways in 2017 with 38, Baltimore picked up where they left off this preseason. The Ravens ranked first in both sacks and interceptions in five exhibition contests, and this trend should continue Sunday. The Ravens defense surely would have enjoyed welcoming Josh Allen to the NFL, but facing Nathan Peterman is arguably an even more inviting match up. Peterman will be under pressure all day, and Baltimore should easily force him into mistakes. Suggs and Judon, along with the other pass-rushers on defense, will have no issue getting to the quarterback. Expect another disruptive performance from the defense behind an energized M&T Bank Stadium. KANSAS CITY, Mo. 鈥?Lamar Jackson knows he will play a big part in stopping the high-flying Kansas City Chiefs offense when he leads the Baltimore Ravens into Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday. He won't make a tackle, though, or cause a fumble or intercept a pass. That's because stopping Patrick Mahomes and Co. begins with keeping them on the sideline. And to do that, the聽Baltimore quarterback needs to make sure he keeps his own offense on the field."Whatever it takes, we're going to help them out Alex Lewis Jersey ," Jackson said of the Ravens' top-ranked defense, "keep the clock running, keep the ball in our possession."The Ravens have been good at that all season.Even before Jackson took over for Joe Flacco, who remained limited in practice this week with a hip injury, the Ravens employed a ball-control style offense. Their average time of possession is nearly 32 minutes a game, third-best in the NFL, and that in turn has helped Baltimore lead the NFL in scoring defense. It has been even more pronounced after Jackson went under center, though. He has 265 yards rushing to set a quarterback record for a player's first three starts in the Super Bowl era, and the Ravens have run for at least 200 yards as a team in each game during the corresponding three-game win streak 鈥?they are the first team since the 2010 Jaguars to accomplish that feat.In last week's victory over the Falcons, who have a score-a-minute offense in their own right, the Ravens held the ball for an astounding 39 minutes, 39 seconds. They did so by piling up 25 first downs, half of those coming on the ground, and running 77 plays to just 45 for the Falcons."When you're on the field for 20 percent less than what you normally have been, you're obviously going to play better defense and play better as a team Cheap Lamar Jackson Jersey ," Ravens safety Eric Weddle said."Play great defense, control the clock, play great on special teams, you have a shot at winning. That's been known here over the years of the way the Ravens play, and we're going to continue to do that."The Chiefs are quite nearly the opposite.Only four times in their first 12 games have they possessed the ball more than their opponents, and that was with reigning NFL rushing champ Kareem Hunt in the backfield for the first 11 of them.Hunt was released last week after a series of off-the-field issues became public. In fact, both of the Chiefs' losses this season 鈥?at the Patriots and Rams 鈥?have come when they've lost the time of possession battle. It was particularly lopsided in New England, when the Chiefs had the ball for less than 24 minutes in what became a 43-40 shootout loss to Tom Brady and Co.One of the big reasons for the disparity is that Kansas City simply scores fast, averaging an NFL-leading 37 points per game. The Chiefs' quick-strike offense centers around Mahomes distributing to one of the deepest stables of skill-position talent in the league, headlined by speedsters Tyreek Hill and Sammy Watkins and their versatile, big-play tight end Travis Kelce.Mahomes has a league-leading 43 throws of at least 25 yards this season. Quite a few of those have been part of his NFL-best and franchise-record 41 touchdown tosses.Coach Andy Reid acknowledged that teams have tried to play ball-control offense against Kansas City, and for the most part it hasn't worked that well. The Chiefs have been able to build big enough leads in most of their games that opponents have to abandon the run altogether."I don't think it changes what you do," Reid insisted. "You have to be efficient with what you do when you have the opportunity with the ball. That is always our challenge, though. You have to take care of business when you have the opportunities."Notes: RB Charcandrick West has switched numbers after signing earlier this week. Descalso went deep to center field off Caleb Ferguson with the ball just eluding Bellinger’s glove as he reached over the wall.“This loss stings a bit because we clawed our way back and took the lead,” Descalso said. “There has been a lot of low-scoring games and that’s the way it is when it’s high stress and you’re in a pennant race. NFL Hard Count Episode 18-3: Hue Jackson http://www.authenticstampabaybuccaneers.com/cheap-vinny-curry-jersey , Chris Baker and the Loss in Jacksonville I target my opinions at Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson, former Tampa Bay Buccaneers ‘player’ Chris Baker, and the fallout of the Madden Tournament shooting.OFFSIDES: Hue Jackson Quarterback DecisionsIf you get Pro Football Talk’s Michael David Smith, Hue Jackson and I in a room I can guarantee one thing. Michael and I are going to dislike Jackson’s quarterback decisions.Last year it was DeShone Kizer. Remember him? He was the quarterback drafted by Cleveland who was evaluated as needing at least two or three years to develop before possibly being NFL starter material. At least two or three years. Jackson however, saw a day one starter. And start, Kizer did.Five starts, five losses, three touchdowns and nine interceptions into his first season, the quarterback who suffered with confidence issues at Notre Dame was benched. And then he was re-inserted one week later as the starter again. Oh, and don’t forget about his team trading for A.J. McCarron to presumably take over starting duties. But then again, that didn’t work either. Now, fastforward to this past week. Starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor injured his hand failing out of bounds. He went into the locker room to have it evaluated and it turns out he dislocated his pinky. So, obviously he sat the rest of the game so he could heal up without risking further injury, right?Nope. He was put back in the game. Well, I mean, I get that it’s only pre-season, but getting multiple possessions in with his first-team gives them a good amount of snaps to work on things critical to the season.Taylor played one series upon returning. Coach Jackson has since tried to justify his decision as a team building tactic critical to the future of the franchise. Listen, if one series in a pre-season game with an injured hand is the difference between success and failure for your team, then...well http://www.authenticstampabaybuccaneers.com/cheap-ryan-jensen-jersey , it’s just not.I said it last year and I’ll say it now. As long as Hue Jackson makes decisions like this one and still has a job, no coach in the entire league should be fired.Kim Klement-USA TODAY SportsFALSE START: Chris Baker is what they said he wasThe Washington Redskins are not known for hiding or retaining hidden talent in the league. In fact, they’re more known for overpaying talent echelons above the level the player actually deserves compared to his counterparts.Enter, Chris Baker. In the 2017 off-season the Redskins made zero effort to retain Baker. Not even a nice ‘screw you’ type of offer to claim they at least extended the chance for him to stay in a city he claims to love so much.Nothing.If a team like that one wasn’t willing to keep Baker, maybe Jason Licht and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers should have known it just wasn’t going to work out when they brought him in last year. Now, some kudos to Licht here as he structured Baker’s contract in a way so the team could cut ties as quickly as possible without jeopardizing the rest of the team’s efforts. Still though, hindsight is clear.Enter the Cincinnati Bengals. Guys. If the Redksins didn’t want him at all, and the Bucs then released him after having one of if not the worst defensive lines in the NFL what made the Bengals think he’d do better for them?Too much Gold Star chili if you ask me.Well, Baker’s time in Cincy was even shorter than his time in Tampa Bay. Perhaps the Washington Capitals could use a permanent cheerleader in the stands.God may not be done with you, Chris. But after getting dismissed in Washington, Tampa Bay, and now Cincinnati, the NFL probably is.Florida Today-USA TODAY NETWORKFREE PLAY: Sports Gaming TragedyIt’s pretty likely you know what went down at a Madden Tournament in Jacksonville over the weekend. Washington Redskins coach Jay Gruden doesn't expect to go looking for another running back after losing promising rookie Derrius Guice to a torn ACL in his left knee in the preseason opener."We have guys that are here and in play," Gruden said, noting that the Redskins drafted Guice because he was the best player available in the 59th spot, "not because we weren't satisfied with the backs we have."The contenders as the No. 1 back now start with Rob Kelley and Samaje Perine.Kelley, with 16 starts in two seasons, missed most of last season with a variety of injuries but ran for 704 yards and six touchdowns in 2016. Perine made eight starts last season and became the first Redskins running back with consecutive 100-yard performances since Alfred Morris in 2013. He had 603 yards and one TD last season.Nonetheless, the Redskins' 90.5-yard rushing average was fifth-worst in the NFL, and Guice was looked at as a great find in the second round. Projected as a first-round pick, his stock fell amid reports of character concerns.Gruden said none of those ever surfaced and he looks forward to Guice being 100 percent next season."We're obviously very upset for Derrius. He's put a lot of work in and (had) a very promising rookie season ahead of him http://www.authenticstampabaybuccaneers.com/cheap-caleb-benenoch-jersey , but unfortunately these injuries happen," Gruden said. "... We had high hopes for him and what he could do for this football team and what he would accomplish his rookie year as a person and all that good stuff."Instead, he's hoping Kelley, Perine or veteran third-down specialist Chris Thompson, who is recovering from a broken fibula last season, can create as much excitement."I've been impressed with both of those guys," Gruden said about Kelley and Perine. "A lot of talk has been on Derrius and deservedly so. He's had a great camp and OTAs, but Rob Kelley has lost a little bit of weight. He looks quicker in the hole to me and Samaje just looks more comfortable to me. He had a couple nice licks in the game the other night."An increased opportunity was secondary in Kelley's mind after practice Saturday."It's real tough," Kelly said about Guice's injury. "He brought an energy I can't even explain to the room. I feel like everybody in the room feels a certain type of way about that. Just want to go out there and compete for him."Kelley, based on his own experience with injuries, also offered Guice some advice."I just told him to come back stronger than ever, show people what they're missing out on," he said.Star linebacker Ryan Kerrigan said he learned about Guice's status Friday when he came to the team's practice facility, and "it kind of took me a couple of minutes to get going with my workout and whatnot. ... He was the focal point of 'Skins camp, I would say, so far. I mean, people were wondering how many yards this guy's going to rush for and if they should pick him for their fantasy team. Things like that. People were really excited for him."In the interim, the season goes on, and the Redskins running backs and everyone else will get to show their stuff against a different team in the next three days as the New York Jets come to Richmond for joint workouts."The Jets have a great run defense. They always have White Kwon Alexander Jersey ," Gruden said. "... So, just to get a different look, different perspective on how they do things, different speed at linebacker, safeties are very, very good over there so, we have to account for them. I mean there's a lot of things that they do differently that we'll have to account for and it'll be interesting to see how we adjust. So, running backs, offensive linemen, tight ends in the running game, receivers in the running game. So, I think everybody will get a good-great challenge against these guys."Notes: The Redskins signed tight end J.P. Holtz, linebacker Jeff Knox and defensive lineman Jalen Wilkerson, waived fullback Elijah Wellman and placed Guice and tight end Manasseh Garner on their reserve-injured list. ... Gruden said defensive lineman Matt Ioannidis has a slight sprained ankle and a slight knee strain and is listed as week-to-week, but added: "Matt's a tough guy and he'll probably get back here tomorrow. He's a nutjob." ... The Jets' arrival means Terrelle Pryor will be back in Richmond. Pryor caught 20 passes last season for the Redskins, but was hobbled by injuries.
