fell to the Denver Broncos with the fifth pick in the NFL draft.Chubb not only takes pressure off Miller Austin Blythe Jersey , who hasn't been back to the playoffs since winning Super Bowl 50 MVP honors. He bolsters what was already a dynamic Denver pass rush that gives opponents fits and covers a whole lot of warts in the Broncos' beleaguered secondary.Rather than grab another quarterback in the first round — his last one didn't work out so well — general manager John Elway selected the North Carolina State edge rusher who was widely regarded as the best defender in the 2017 draft class. Now, the Broncos can send Miller, Chubb, Shane Ray and Shaq Barrett at quarterbacks from the outside while locking down the interior with a revitalized Derek Wolfe , a beefed-up DeMarcus Walker, a rejuvenated Adam Gotsis and free agent acquisition Clinton McDonald at defensive end. Then there's nose tackles Shelby Harris and the Peko cousins, Domata and Kyle, to provide inside push and help thwart the run.Of course, it will only matter if Denver's refurbished offense buttressed by free agent QB Case Keenum Sean Mannion Jersey , rookie receivers Courtland Sutton and DaeSean Hamilton and rookie running back Royce Freeman, starts scoring points like it did when Peyton Manning was hollering out, "Hurry, hurry!"In the two seasons since Manning retired, the Broncos haven't played with a lead often enough to capitalize on their pass rush prowess or what had been a stellar secondary.Cornerback Chris Harris Jr., was pleased to finally face an offense in training camp that held its own."Our offense is way better than they were last year," Harris said. "I see them putting up points, at least 30 a game. ... because we have Bill Musgrave, a great offensive coordinator. We used to hate going against him. We used to call him 'Mad Scientist' when he was in Oakland Jamon Brown Jersey , so they have a great offense. It fits Case well. He has great weapons. I don't see why they can't average 30."NO MORE NO FLY ZONE : A prolific offense will help a defense that went through a spate of injuries in the secondary, then lost a second member of the original "No Fly Zone" with the trade of cornerback Aqib Talib to the Rams this spring. The Broncos had their share of growing pains after safety T.J. Ward was waived last year. Now the original "No Fly Zone" is down to safety Darren Stewart and Harris, who said the chemistry with cornerback Bradley Roby was slow to develop this summer after never needing to consider it with Talib."It was so easy that you never realized that you have to work for that with someone else," Harris said. "Me and 'Lib used to come out on the field — Bam! If he sees something, I see it."Asked when he thought that would come together with Roby, Harris said, "as soon as Roby gets it. It shouldn't take long as long as he gets it. Once he gets it, we'll be on the same page."REFRESHED RECEIVERS : It didn't take long for Emmanuel Sanders to get on the same page with Keenum. Finally healthy after an injury-marred 2017 season, Sanders was the star of training camp even as rookie Sutton Rob Havenstein Jersey , another SMU alum, was entertaining the crowds with daily highlight reel catches.Sanders said his enthusiasm isn't just a byproduct of his return to health but of Keenum's arrival. For the first time since 2015, Sanders worked exclusively with the starting QB and didn't have to endure a prolonged quarterback competition that siphoned chemistry and rhythm from the offense once the regular season rolled around. He and Demaryius Thomas also were pushed by the rookies."This is one of those wide receiver groups that can definitely carry this team," Sanders said. "Elway has his pick of the litter in that room."BOUNCE BACKS : The Broncos haven't had back-to-back losing seasons since 1971-72 and several players need bounce-back seasons to keep that streak alive. So do the coaches.Elway contemplated firing Joseph following his 5-11 rookie season but decided to give him another chance, then provided him with a massive roster upgrade rather than going on another coaching search and starting over.Joseph realizes he won't get another chance if things don't change, however."Winning football games is a must this year," Joseph said. "We have to do that. That's why they hired me." CHICAGO (AP) — Jared Goff was born in California and played his college ball for California before beginning his pro career in Southern California with the Los Angeles Rams. The Golden State kid looked a little lost in the Windy City.Harassed by Chicago‘s fierce pass rush all night long, Goff threw a career-high four interceptions in a costly 15-6 loss to the Bears on Sunday at a chilly Soldier Field. Several of Goff’s passes wobbled coming out of his right hand, and it was hard to tell where he was going on a couple more throws.“It’s definitely tough to play in a big-time game like that and not play well and not win and not do what you want to do Tyler Higbee Jersey ,” Goff said. “But at the same time we’re 11-2, won the division with three weeks left and have everything in front of us and feel really good about that.”The loss dropped Los Angeles into a tie with New Orleans in the race for home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs. The Saints hold the tiebreaker after topping the Rams 45-35 on Nov. 4.Goff and company had won three in a row since falling short in New Orleans, averaging 40 points during the streak. But Los Angeles’ prolific offense was completely shut down by Khalil Mack and the Bears (9-4).“They did a good job getting some pressure and then they played tight coverage and there really just weren’t many plays to make tonight because of some of the selections that I had,” second-year Rams coach Sean McVay said. “So certainly don’t blame Jared for a lot of bad spots that I put him in.”Goff was 20 for 44 for a season-low 180 yards. NFL rushing leader Todd Gurley managed just 28 yards on 11 carries, both season lows. Greg Zuerlein booted a 40-yard field goal attempt off the right upright at a key moment in the fourth quarter.“It was on everybody, we all played bad,” Gurley said. “Coaches down to the players.”Goff threw his first interception on Los Angeles’ third possession. Bears defensive lineman Jonathan Bullard pushed Rams left tackle Andrew Whitworth into Goff, and his wobbly pass went right to Roquan Smith for the rookie linebacker’s first career pick .Smith’s 22-yard return to the Rams 4 set up Cody Parkey‘s 31-yard field goal with 9:24 left in the second quarter.“They had a good scheme for us and did a good job, but we got to be better and that starts with me Jared Goff Jersey ,” Goff said.Goff threw another interception on a Hail Mary on the final play of the half, but the game was tied at 6 at the break.Chicago then went ahead to stay when Eddie Goldman tackled Goff in the end zone on the Rams’ first drive of the third for the Bears’ first safety of the season. Goff also was sacked by Mack in the third quarter and brought down by Akiem Hicks on a fourth-down play in the fourth.Los Angeles had a chance to get back in the game when John Johnson III intercepted Mitchell Trubisky in the third and took it back 35 yards to the Chicago 27. But Goff gave it right back, throwing an interception to Kyle Fuller on the next play.Goff’s last interception went to Prince Amukamara late in the fourth quarter, sealing the loss for the Rams (11-2).“I thought I put him in really bad spots tonight,” McVay said.Goff also struggled in last Sunday’s 30-16 win at Detroit, going 17 for 33 for 207 yards and a touchdown with an interception. The No. 1 overall pick in the 2016 draft said he feels fine and just needs to play better.“I don’t think this will be the last time I have a bad game,” he said. “And I don’t think it will be the last time I have two bad games in a row if I play for as long as I want to.”
pence says he was trying to protect himself in a fight that led to his ejection for ripping off an opponent’s helmet.Spence was penalized for unnecessary roughness and ejected in the second quarter of Sunday’s win over Oakland following his skirmish with guard Kelechi Osemele.Trouble began with Spence and Osemele still on the ground after a sack by Miami’s Cameron Wake.“I’m trying to go celebrate Football Isaiah Prince Jersey , but the guy has his hands on me, pushing me, pushing me, pushing me,” Spence said Monday. “At some point as a man, I’ve got to protect myself and get his hands off me and do what I’ve got to do. It just went beyond football at that point, which it shouldn’t have.”The incident was doubly costly for Miami. The penalty negated the third-down sack and led to an Oakland field goal. And the Dolphins became short-handed in the front four when ends William Hayes and Andre Branch were sidelined with knee injuries.“I feel really bad about it because I thought I took Cam’s sack away, and then you put your defense in a bad position,” Spence said.He said the episode was typical of the Raiders.“We know Oakland’s O-line, we know what they do Isaiah Prince Jersey nfl draft , we know how they play,” he said. “They’re extra after the whistle.” While the NFL office continues to receive high grades for its racial hiring practices, a diversity report shows there are still major strides needed at the team level. The Institute for Diversity and Ethics in Sport released its annual racial and gender report card Wednesday, giving the NFL as a whole an A- for its racial hiring — the ninth straight year it has received a grade or A- or better. The league received a C for gender hiring, giving it an overall grade of a B in racial and gender hiring practices. While the study’s author Richard Lapchick said the league’s grade for racial hiring was “impressive,” he cautioned that the league’s 32 teams simply need to do a better job of hiring people of color.“It shows that across the league, particularly from the commissioner’s office, that there’s an attempt to have a strong base for diversity,” Lapchick said. “But the league is way ahead of the teams, particularly in (hiring at) senior level positions for women and people of color.”The study found that of the 32 general managers Chandler Cox Miami Dolphins Jerseys , only four — or 12.5 percent — are people of color. Lapchick said that doesn’t adequately reflect a league whose players are made up predominantly (72.6 percent) of people of color. The TIDES report was based on the 2018 season, so it was completed before five coaches of color were fired in the days after the season. That leaves only three coaches of color in the NFL currently — Los Angeles Chargers‘ Anthony Lynn, Pittsburgh’s Mike Tomlin and Carolina’s Ron Rivera — although the Miami Dolphins are expected to hire Patriots assistant coach Brian Flores, who is black, after New England is finished playing in the Super Bowl.In 2017, the NFL matched its all-time high of eight head coaches of color first reached in 2011 with the addition of Vance Joseph in Denver and Lynn. The NFL has worked this past year to strengthen the Rooney Rule, a mandate that coaches of color must be interviewed for any vacant head coaching position. The new rules state that teams are now required to go outside of their own organizations to interview a candidate of color or interview a candidate who is on the league’s career development advisory panel.Lapchick said based on the history of the NFL racial and gender hiring report, the coaching changes are a cyclical thing and he’s confident it will swing back up with more coaches of color being hired in the future.Still, he said, four coaches of color are far too few.TIDES announced Wednesday it was not releasing the number of people of color in NFL coordinator positions because of a discrepancy they found in the report. The coordinator position was a point of concern two years ago when Lapchick said he was bothered by the lack of progress at that position Miami Dolphins Jerseys 2019 , considering most head coaches first serve as coordinators. The percentage of assistant coaches of color dipped slightly from 31.9 percent a year ago to 31.4 percent in 2017.In terms of gender hiring, Lapchick said generally speaking none of the professional teams aren’t doing well with the exception of the NBA, where anticipates it won’t be long before there is a female coach.“That is something we have to pay more attention to,” Lapchick said of the low gender hiring numbers. The issue, of course, is the NFL is a league made up of — and played — historically by men, which leaves women at a distinct disadvantage of getting hired. But Lapchick still sees a niche in NFL teams where women can flourish on the business side.“A woman can be trained equally as well as a man can,” Lapchick said.
/13 Practice Today was the first training camp day back after the first pre-season game against the Denver Broncos. While the 42-28 win was exciting Minnesota Vikings Jerseys 2019 , it was back to work as usual for the Vikings. Here are a few notes from today’s practice. Grid View Stefon Diggs and Everson Griffen did not participate in practice today. Diggs helped with the wide receiver drills but did eventually leave. Griffen was not out on the field at all today but hopefully he will be back and dressed for tomorrow. While Linval Joseph and Anthony Barr were not active for Saturday’s game, they did practice in full today. Mike Remmers did return today but was only doing individual drills. The Vikings are playing things cautious with him, as he is returning from an ankle injury. Stacy Coley was injured and did not return to practice after making an impressive jump for the ball on a catch. Unfortunately, he stayed on the ground and needed a cart to help him out. As of now, there is no word on his condition. But the biggest injury news Irv Smith Jersey Cheap , that luckily turned out to be a false alarm, was Rashod Hill. When he rolled his ankle, initially it didn’t look good. A cart was brought out and he was taken in to be looked at. But, less than five minutes later, he walked back out to the field on his own. He did finish the drills and told reporters after that his ankle was “feeling fine.”Kaleb Johnson took the field today wearing number 66 and took reps with the second and third teams. Johnson is replacing Nick Easton Irv Smith Jersey Womens , who is now on injured reserve.Kirk Cousins continues to look good coming off the first preseason game. He had a great pass to Latavius Murray and Murray was able to find a sizable hole and go for a big gain. Cousins had a few deep throws that looked sharp as well. One was to Adam Thielen while Cousins was under some pretty good pressure, and Thielen was able to catch it and stay in bounds. He also threw one to Dalvin Cook, who was able to catch the ball but was eventually stopped. Speaking of Cook, he looked great today and was able to burst through the defense line on a few plays. The talks between the Vikings and tight end Kyle Rudolph on a potential contract extension aren’t dead, but they currently aren’t going anywhere.Per a source with knowledge of the situation Irv Smith white jersey , the Vikings and Rudolph have not ended talks (contrary to a recent report that they have). However, the two sides aren’t making much progress. The Vikings, according to the source, have offered Rudolph a five-year extension, which would give Rudolph a new-money average among the highest paid tight ends in the league. That extension also would Irv Smith Minnesota Vikings Jerseys , presumably, reduce Rudolph’s current cap number of $7.625 million. The source adds that the Vikings have not asked Rudolph to take a pay cut in 2018, the final year of his current deal.It remains unclear how this one will be resolved. The mood around Rudolph definitely changed when the team made Irv Smith a second-round pick last month, and the chatter started with trade talk and continued with a standoff over Rudolph’s pay.The truth appears to be that the Vikings want to keep Rudolph, but also that they want to reduce his cap charge in 2019. This gives Rudolph leverage Minnesota Vikings Jerseys 2019 , which has empowered him to reject the offers that the Vikings have made.
one knew they weren’t trying to replace Cam Newton when they drafted another quarterback last week. And in case you were wondering if Newton felt pressure from the addition of West Virginia’s Will Grier with the 100th overall pick Stitched Da’Norris Searcy Jersey , he does not.Via Josh Sims of Fox 46, Newton was asked about the addition of Grier during the grand opening of his cigar bar/restaurant in Atlanta.“A lot of people, the natural, . . . would think that I feel intimidated,” Newton said. “And that’s not the case here.“I reached out to Will, and I actually saw him play in high school with him being in Charlotte. And I’m just excited. Like I said, for him to come on a team that I know he possesses a rare talent Youth Jarius Wright Jersey , and I’m excited. . . . It’s my job to put myself and my team in the best situation, and get everybody ready, . . . I want to make sure that I’m [the] best teammate and my best self for everyone.”Grier grew up near Charlotte, so Newton getting a first-hand look at his new backup lends some familiarity to the process. The Panthers hadn’t drafted a quarterback since taking Newton first overall in 2011, and Grier brings a level of talent to the backup spot they haven’t enjoyed in years. BALTIMORE (AP) ach John Harbaugh may have to wait until Sunday before deciding who to start at quarterback in a pivotal game against the Cincinnati Bengals.Harbaugh’s options are Flacco Stitched Matt Skura Jersey , an ailing 11-year veteran; Lamar Jackson, a rookie who’s never made an NFL start; or Robert Griffin III, who’s been inactive every game this season.Rather than fret, Harbaugh attempted to put a positive spin on the situation.“It just makes it tougher for the Bengals to prepare for us,” he said. “So, that’s kind of a good thing.”Actually, Cincinnati coach Marvin Lewis couldn’t care less. He’s got his own problems, most notably a horrific defense that set a dubious Super Bowl-era record by yielding at least 500 yards in three successive games.Lewis fired defensive coordinator Teryl Austin on Monday and assumed the responsibility of running the defense with the aid of Hue Jackson , who was hired Tuesday after being dismissed as head coach of the Browns earlier this season.Asked to describe his wild week, Lewis said quite sarcastically: “Yeah, it’s what you wish for.”The Ravens (4-5) and Bengals (5-4) fully expected to be in a better place with seven games to go. After a 4-2 start, Baltimore has lost three straight. The Bengals have dropped four of five after opening 4-1.The importance of this game for both teams cannot be understated.“Us and Baltimore at this point are where we need this win,” Cincinnati receiver Tyler Boyd said. “It’s a huge game to make or break a team.”Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey said: “When you come off three losses, you definitely know you definitely have to win.”Some other things to know about this AFC North matchup:NO GREEN?Overlooked in the Bengals’ defensive collapse in a 51-14 loss to the Saints last week was how the offense struggled without receiver A.J. Green, sidelined with a toe injury. The Bengals put together a 75-yard touchdown drive on their opening possession Youth Matt Skura Jersey , and the starters didn’t score again. Cincinnati wound up with 284 yards. Andy Dalton was only 12 of 20 for 153 yards with four sacks and two interceptions. Green was initially ruled out for the Ravens game on Friday, but the Bengals did an about-face and held open a slight chance he’d play by listing him as doubtful. The receivers know they must do better in Baltimore.“We need to make more plays on the ball,” Boyd said. “When Andy puts the ball in the air, we need to fight for the ball or at least not let the opponent get the interception.”COACH AND QB TANDEMSLewis has been coaching the Bengals for 16 years, and Harbaugh is in his 11th season with Baltimore.Asked to find the common thread between the two, Lewis said, “If you look around the league, the people who have been in these jobs for a long time, they’re fortunate to have quarterbacks that lead the franchise and win games. I guess that, to me, is the main commonality.”Flacco has been Harbaugh’s starting quarterback since 2008 , and they’ve won a Super Bowl together. Dalton has a 68-48-2 record as a starter over an eight-year run.SCENE OF THE GRABThe Bengals return to the place where they broke the Ravens’ hearts and made the Buffalo Bills giddy with one big play in the final regular-season game last season.Dalton’s 49-yard touchdown pass to Boyd on a fourth-and-12 play with 49 seconds left sent the Bengals to a 31-27 win that kept Baltimore out of the playoffs and gave the Bills their first postseason appearance since 1999.Bills fans donated more than $450,000 to Dalton’s foundation in gratitude, and the quarterback was warmly received at a preseason game in Buffalo last August.“It was one of the coolest moments of my career, with everything that happened on the play and afterward Stitched Ty Montgomery Jersey ,” Dalton said.JACKSON READYIf Flacco can’t go, Jackson will likely get the call. The 2016 Heisman Trophy winner and former Louisville star has thus far been used periodically in running situations and is second on the team with 139 yards rushing.Jackson said it would be “awesome” to start, but has no complaints about this current role.“It’s been pretty cool,” he said. “I’m on the field. I’d rather be out there than just sitting down.”GOOD BYEThe Ravens are 8-2 following a bye under Harbaugh and an NFL-best 13-3 since 2002 after getting an extra week off.Asked how he spent the week, Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs cracked up the media with this quote: “As (NBA guard) Kyle Lowry would say, ‘I got a chance to decompose.’ It’s kind of fun just to get your mind away a little bit.” Baltimore’s offense adds a new fold into the rushing attack."WhitePodcast Film Review 2019 NFL Draft Fanposts Fanshots Ravens StoriesScheduleRosterStatsYahoo Ravens ReportYahoo Ravens Depth ChartYahoo Ravens TransactionsYahoo Ravens PhotosAbout Odds Community Guidelines StubHub 鉁昇FL Free AgencyRavens intend to sign RB Mark Ingram New,46commentsBaltimore’s offense adds a new fold into the rushing attack. EDTShareTweetShareShareRavens intend to sign RB Mark Ingram Chuck Cook-USA TODAY SportsAfter quietly watching the rest of the league go into a frenzy and seeing their own free agents leave for other teams, the Ravens have officially made their first splash of free agency. Baltimore has agreed to terms with former Saints running back Mark Ingram on a three-year, $15 million contract. This news comes after over a days worth of conflicting reports surrounding Le’Veon Bell, the Ravens, and the New York Jets. Baltimore had been linked to Ingram at the beginning of free agency but things were clouded by the possibility of the Ravens landing Bell, which intensified throughout the afternoon and evening on Tuesday. However, the dust has finally settled and its Ingram, not Bell who will be joining the Ravens. This may be upsetting to some fans given the lust and shine that Bell brought on the free agent market, but Ingram is a pretty solid consolation prize. Ingram Youth Ty Montgomery Jersey , 29, is entering his ninth season in the NFL. In 106 career games, he’s turned 1,321 carries into just over 6,000 rushing yards and 50 touchdowns. He boasts an impressive yards per carry average of 4.5, however, over the past four seasons Ingram’s YPC has been as follows: 4.6, 5.1, 4.9, & 4.7. While Ingram is considered a veteran by NFL standards, the workload he’s seen throughout his career hasn’t been too significant, especially compared to someone like Bell. Ingram has never exceeded 230 carries in any one season. Last season, Ingram missed the first four games of the season after being suspended for PED use. However, this was the first time Ingram has ever been suspended or had any known run-ins with misconduct. Ingram has developed a reputation for being a leader and solid locker room presence. While he only rushed for 645 yards last season in 12 games, he picked up 4.7 yards per carry and found the endzone six times. In the two years prior Stitched Mark Ingram Jersey , Ingram eclipsed 1,000 yards in back-to-back seasons and totaled 18 rushing touchdowns with a 5.0 YPC average.Ingram will also add a receiving element to the Ravens offense, which the team currently lacks in the backfield without Javorius Allen and Ty Montgomery. Between 2015-17, Ingram had at least 319 receiving yards in three consecutive seasons and averaged just over 50 receptions per season. While he does possess pass-catching ability, Ingram is more a bruising, ground-and-pound type of runner than anything. So too is Gus Edwards, the Ravens incumbent leading rusher, which makes Ingra exact fit in the Ravens backfield a bit murky. There’s more than enough time for this to be settled. However, the most likely scenario is that Ingram will see the majority of carries and play most third-down situations, while Edwards, and to a lesser extend Kenneth Dixon, are sprinkled into the rotation. While the reactions to the acquisition of Ingram figure to be mixed, there’s no denying that Ingram is a talented player and makes the Ravens rushing attack even more dynamic. There’s still a chance they choose to add another running back in the draft, but the addition of Ingram gives them more flexibility to more pressing needs.

TwitterFacebookRedditPocketFlipboardEmailWhat are the best and worst single game performances by a Falcons QB? This question was inspired by the following Twitter thread, which yields plenty of entertaining responses. The best in my eyes remains either (and I’m sorry for bringing it up) the Super Bowl performance by Matt Ryan or his brutal dismantling of the Saints defense last year. Considering the stakes and the stage, completing nearly 74% of his passes, avoiding any interceptions, tossing two touchdowns and weathering five sacks (albeit with one fumble) was not only one of the best games he could have played Youth Matt Schaub Jersey , but one that should have won. Ditto the game against the Saints, when he completed over 74% of his passes, threw for 374 yards, and tossed five touchdowns against zero interceptions in a game that again the Falcons somehow lost. Wasting the best games of Matt Ryan’s career: The Atlanta Falcons story. The worst game I ever saw was a Sunday night bomb in October 1997, when Tony Graziani played game that’s worth mentioning because:He played so poorly he had to be relieved by Billy Joe ToliverHe put up a perfect 0.0 passer ratingHe completed just 4 of his 18 passesHe tossed two picksHe managed just 24 yards on those 18 passes, and if you count the sack for seven yards he absorbed, he managed a net 17 yards on 18 passes There have been plenty of awful games in team history at QB Stitched Derrick Shelby Jersey , but I still think that one’s hard to top.How about you? FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) — Coach Dan Quinn has been here before with a three-game losing streak. The Atlanta Falcons dropped three straight last year. They lost six in a row in Quinn’s first season in 2015.“None of us expected to be here with this losing record,” Quinn said Monday. “We also don’t expect to stay here.”At 1-4, the Falcons are reeling and hardly resemble the team that recovered from a three-game skid last year to win seven of 10 and make the playoffs.Their defense ranks worst in points allowed and worst in third-down percentage. Their offense struggles to protect quarterback Matt Ryan and to generate a running game.Star receiver Julio Jones didn’t catch a pass until the fourth quarter of Sunday’s blowout loss at Pittsburgh. Atlanta’s special teams has been embarrassed with two blocked punts in the past three games.“You’re in a slump and how do you get out of it?” Quinn said. “You fight your ass off to get your technique right and get organized right because you’re the one that will do it.”The Falcons are fortunate that Ryan isn’t seriously hurt. The 2016 NFL MVP had X-rays that were negative on his foot after Pittsburgh sacked him six times and hit him 11 additional times. But that’s about the only good news Atlanta has had with injuries. The defense has two starters, safeties Keanu Neal and Ricardo Allen, out for the season, and middle linebacker Deion Jones won’t return for another five weeks.Defensive tackle Grady Jarrett has an ankle injury and could miss his second straight game when the Falcons host Tampa Bay this weekend.Quinn said tight ends Youth Derrick Shelby Jersey , running backs and receivers were as responsible as the offensive linemen for missing blocks that contributed to Ryan’s hits. The Falcons didn’t pick up blitzes well enough or hold back the Steelers’ steady four-man rush. Blocks broke down quickly at the point of attack.Left tackle Jake Matthews said the line too often was out of position or not sliding out quickly enough to plug the gaps.“We go over all the looks and we have a real good game plan going in how to protect him, but a different stunt comes at you and you have to react,” Matthews said. “Just sticking to our rules and techniques will take care of it.”The running game ranks 25th after gaining 62 yards against Pittsburgh. Devonta Freeman, returning from a knee injury that sidelined him three straight games, had a 20-yard gain in the first quarter but otherwise picked up just 12 yards on seven attempts. Tevin Coleman rushed seven times for 15 yards.Jones ranks third in NFL yards receiving, but he had five straight incompletions before finally catching an 18-yard pass that set up a touchdown. The two-time All-Pro has zero TD catches this year and just three in the past two seasons.“He’s always part of our thinking and design,” Quinn said. “So as coaches Stitched Wes Schweitzer Jersey , what can we do to put him in spots that it’s way harder to find the double (team), way harder to get to a spot where they can put two guys on him. Every week we have to think that way.”Easily the Falcons’ biggest concern is with a defense that’s allowed five touchdowns in each of the past three games, though Quinn does like that they came out of the game with no new injuries and will begin this week with the same personnel.“If you just look at the stats, you’re going to be miserable,” Quinn said. “There are guys who have new voices playing next to one another. Maybe they haven’t had as much communication as you would like, some verbal, some non-verbal.”Defensive end Takk McKinley was even more succinct.“Man Youth Wes Schweitzer Jersey , we got our ass kicked,” McKinley said. “That’s pretty much it.”
theater of the absurd press conference yesterday Youth Jermaine Gresham Jersey , I couldn’t help myself from drawing parallels to HBO’s hit series, "Barry"---simply because (as I..."While watching Steve Keim’s and Kliff Kingsbury’s theater of the absurd press conference yesterday, I couldn’t help myself from drawing parallels to HBO’s hit series, “Barry”---simply because (as I hope most of you already know) “Barry” is a highly compelling show about the good, the bad and the ugly of---well---bad acting. In yesterday’s episode at the Cardinals headquarters, we were greeted at the podium by Barry (Kliff Kingsbury) and Chechen crime boss NoHo Hank (Steve Keim)---you see---Barry, the expert assassin of college defenses, after being cast adrift by Texas Tech and quickly hired in LA by USC, wandered off the Trojans’ set one day and stumbled into NoHo Hank and his Chechen mob of Cardinals’ scouts who had visited Barry back in Lubbock a few times over the past five years---and let’s just say, NoHo Hank made Barry an NFL head coaching offer that “he couldn’t refuse.” So as of yesterday---Barry has been working the job for close to 4 months now and has been learning the free agent and NFL Draft ropes from NoHo Hank and his mob of scouts---and it was time to assure Cardinals’ fans that they are doing their “due diligence” and that they still swear they have no freaking idea who the #1 pick is going to be as they are just now putting the finishing touches on their Big Board---and HOW DARE anyone speculate that any kind of decision has been made to this point.People don’t understand---THIS IS A PROCESS!Meanwhile, in light of 3 months worth of national speculation that the Cardinals are going to pick the 2018 Heisman Trophy winner Stitched J. J. Nelson Jersey , QB Kyler Murray, with the #1 pick in the draft (the player whom Barry has already picked at #1 a million times in his dreams)---after Murray committed to football and just so happened to sign with Barry’s agent---after Murray met with Barry and NoHo at the NFL Combine---after Barry and NoHo flew up to Norman OK to work Murray out on the same day as the Alabama Pro Day---after Barry and NoHo recently invited Murray to Arizona for a tour, more schmoozing, x’s and o’s and, of course, a lavish steak dinner----At yesterday’s press conference a defiant NoHo Hank refuted the notion that he had ever considered taking a QB at #1 or in the draft, for that matter---I NEVER SAID THAT!!!!---and yet when asked then if taking a QB is out of the question, NoHo defiantly insisted “I NEVER SAID THAT EITHER!!!”Meanwhile, the questions shifted over to how well the Cardinals current QB Josh Rosen is handling all the Murray to Arizona hoopla---and both Barry and NoHo lit up like Vegas casinos in avowing in NoHo’s case that:: “We’ve had good communication. He is a pro’s pro. And the one thing I’ve appreciated the most since we’ve drafted him. The kid has an unbelievable amount of mental toughness. You saw that last year as he took a beating and we went through the injuries that we went through up front. Physical toughness, mental toughness --Josh Rosen has it all.”Yet, in light of the abusive way in which the Cardinals keep letting Rosen take hit after hit after hit Youth J. J. Nelson Jersey , one could readily imagine that Rosen is spending his 4 hours daily at the Cardinals’ OTAs these weeks, bound, bubble-wrapped and gagged in the equipment manager’s office reading the LA Times and listening to the latest Joel Klatt interviews on The Herd. The essential outcome of the press conference was that Barry, acting like ever the obsequious sycophant to NoHo Hank managed to say nothing meaningful in a series of terse platitudes---and that NoHo, acting like the new “big bruh” alpha in the room, managed to say nothing meaningful through a monotonous drone of circumlocutions. And now...What Barry and NoHo really need is Hollywood legend (in his own mind), director turned acting coach, Gene Cousineau (Henry Winkler), to arrive at team headquarters quickly and with great urgency---because Barry’s and NoHo’s next gig will be broadcasted from Nashville Tennessee, this time before a national audience on April 25th.You see---Barry and NoHo need Gene Cousineau more now than ever because, Barry and NoHo now find themselves squarely in the midst of a tragic Stitched A.Q. Shipley Jersey , irreconcilable dilemma---If QB Kyler Murray does wind up being the Cardinals #1 pick, Barry and NoHo will then have to explain how they just turned their backs on a young QB who is already a “pro’s pro, who has it all.”Or, on the flip side, if they shun Murray and take Nick Bosa or Quinnen Wiilliams they are going to have to explain why they catered like mules to a process that put their QB of “right now” squarely in the crosshairs of NFL pundits, critics and skeptics---for three long, excruciating months. As if three months of 45 sacks and 100 QB hits back in October to December weren’t enough? As Ellis Boyd Redding (aka “Red”) said in the Shawshank Redemption, “Every man has his breaking point.”But....you just know, the gag order on Josh Rosen can’t last forever. The world deserves to know his version of the soap opera. At least, Gene Cousineau is smart enough to know that Barry and NoHo will need to scratch the line “we were doing our due diligence” from the current script. That’s the first place to start. Beyond that, Cousineau may not be able to spare Barry and NoHo from the inevitable denouement that their bad acting has sprung---a good ol’ barrage of rotten tomatoes. Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald said recently that rookie quarterback Kyler Murray knows the offense being installed by head coach Kliff Kingsbury better than anyone else on the team and the rookie isn’t going to argue with the team’s veteran leader.Murray played in a similar offensive system while at Oklahoma and Kingsbury said that gives him a leg up on some “terminology and concepts” that others are seeing for the first time. Murray also noted that knowing the offense inside and out is a pretty big part of the job.“Is it true? I’d say obviously I’m more familiar with it Youth A.Q. Shipley Jersey ,” Murray said, via AZCentral.com. “Coach Kingsbury obviously knows it the best. But yeah, obviously with [Fitzgerald] being a veteran and not having to come to every OTA and stuff like that and me being there every day, studying every day, yes, I do know it better. But that’s my job.”Murray said more than once on Tuesday that he thinks the offense can be “dangerous” once everyone is on the same page. A desire to put that kind of unit together is why Murray and Kingsbury are in Arizona, although just how dangerous they’ll be in 2019 is a question that can’t be answered until they’re on the field with other teams.

The Los Angeles Rams and Kansas City were to have played there Nov. 19, but the game was moved to Los Angeles because of poor field conditions. In London, the NFC champion Rams will play Cincinnati. The other games are Houston-Jacksonville, Carolina-Tampa Bay and Chicago-Oakland. Jacksonville is owned by Shahid Khan, who also owns the Premier League club Fulham. Two games will be at Wembley and two at Tottenham’s new stadium, which was to have opened last summer but faced construction delays. The NHL played two regular-season games at O2 Arena in September 2007. Any and all discussions about the MVP race aren’t relevant until the regular season ends. But that doesn’t stop them from happening.Throughout the 2018 season, a variety of names have emerged (and subsided) in the MVP debate. After Sunday’s no-look and sidearm and fourth-down-wing-and-a-prayer victory over the Ravens, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes seemed to be the clear favorite http://www.chiefslockerroom.com/authentic-eric-murray-jersey , with one significant caveat: He had two prime-time games up next on the docket, and those big-stage performances could help, or hurt, his case.Early in Thursday night’s game against the Chargers, it looked like Mahomes had cemented his status as the presumed winner. But as the offense sputtered, thanks to L.A. taking away the explosive plays and the Chiefs not embracing the opportunities underneath, an early 14-point lead never grew beyond that, and the Chargers were able in the fourth quarter to catch, and to pass, the Chiefs. The guy who engineered the outcome Womens Dustin Colquitt Jersey , Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers, will now see his own case ascend. Meanwhile, Saints quarterback Drew Brees, who like Rivers has never won the award, remains on the short list, as does Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald, who likely needs to match or beat the single-season sack record held by Michael Strahan* to have a chance to win the ultimate individual award in football. For now, the talk will continue. Once the regular season ends, clarity will emerge, based on who makes the playoffs and where the teams are seeded. If the Chiefs get the No. 1 seed in the AFC Steven Nelson Jersey , advantage Mahomes. If the Chargers secure it, Rivers rises. And if the Saints finish in the top spot on the NFC playoff tree, Brees gets a boost.Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson also sits on the fringes of the debate, and if he can outduel Mahomes in nine days on NBC, maybe Wilson will make it to the short list, too.

y picks was to help maintain parity in the NFL: The league has never wanted wealthy teams in big markets to be able to buy up all the top talent and leave the small-market teams struggling Torry Holt Jersey , so the compensatory pick formula gives additional picks to teams that have lost high-priced free agents to other teams. But in the years since the NFL started awarding compensatory picks, they’ve actually helped the best teams stay on top. That’s never been more true than this year, when the two Super Bowl participants, the Patriots and Rams, were the only teams that received two third-round compensatory picks. Compensatory picks will help the best teams get better. The NFL, with its salary cap and revenue sharing, doesn’t have the same issues with big-market teams out-bidding small-market teams that have been problems in other sports leagues. So compensatory picks don’t go to the have-nots as compensation for losing key players to the haves.Instead, compensatory picks go to the teams that were already good Orlando Pace Jersey , and had such an abundance of good players that some of them signed high-priced contracts elsewhere. Teams like the Patriots and Rams. Also benefiting the best teams is the fact that their success gives job security to their decision makers, and a front office that is secure in its job is willing to play the long game and wait out free agency this year to get compensatory picks next year. On bad teams, the G.M. knows he’s on thin ice and might lose his job without a winning season, so he needs to sign free agents who can help this year, not wait for compensatory picks next year. It’s no coincidence that the Ravens, who had the league’s longest-tenured G.M. in Ozzie Newsome, are also the team that has acquired the most compensatory picks. Newsome knew he had job security, which made him feel comfortable building for the future with compensatory picks Deacon Jones Jersey , which in turn perpetuated his job security. So while compensatory picks were implemented for the sake of parity in theory, in practice they’ve had the opposite effect: Compensatory picks help the top teams stay on top. The Los Angeles Rams proved that the third time is actually a charm, because in their third matchup against the New Orleans Saints, they escaped victorious and punched their ticket to Superbowl 53.Let’s revisit the matchups to watch:CB’s Aqib Talib/Marcus Peters vs WR Michael ThomasLast week’s matchup to watch:Michael Thomas turned seven targets into four receptions for 36 yards. The Rams clearly came in with an advanced plan this time around ensuring they’d dare anyone else on the Saints to beat them, but not Thomas. Thomas was routinely bracket covered by a CB having outside leverage and a safety coming down and covering with inside leverage. This was a fantastic adjustment by the coaching staff — more notably Defensive Coordinator Wade Phillips — after Thomas proved to be a massive issue in the week nine matchup.WR Brandin Cooks vs CB Marshon LattimoreLast week’s matchup to watch:Anyway you slice it, Brandin Cooks won this matchup against Marshon Lattimore. On eight targets, Cooks managed seven receptions for 107 yards, with one of those catches being the most important in the game. It was the deep shot down the left side of the field prior to halftime that put the Rams at the 6-yard line and allowed the Rams to cut the lead to 13-10 before halftime. Cooks was routinely winning using his deep speed to set up defensive backs and then cutting on a dime returning to Goff and opening a throwing window. Cooks also had a fantastic tip-toe sideline catch along the left sideline.RB’s Todd Gurley/C.J. Anderson vs Saints’ front-sevenLast week’s matchup to watch:The duo of Todd Gurley and C.J. Anderson were completely stifled by the Saints’ front-seven Eric Dickerson Jersey , which is relatively strange but at the same time not at all. The Saints have been a very solid run defense all year, though I really over-estimated the loss of DT Sheldon Rankins. Regardless, Anderson and Gurley combined for 20 carries for 54 yards and one touchdown. They weren’t incredibly productive, but they sufficed in pass pro and allowed the passing game to take over.Rams’ OL vs Saints’ DLLast week’s matchup to watch:The offensive line had a solid but unspectacular game. Jared Goff was only sacked once by Cameron Jordan, so that’s relatively ideal. Goff generally had good pockets to operate from and knew exactly when to bail the pocket and create time on his own scrambling when he didn’t. Run blocking struggled as the Rams averaged roughly three yards-per-carry, though this is a performance you’d take every time.ILB’s Cory Littleton/Mark Barron vs RB Alvin KamaraLast week’s matchup to watch:As a runner, Alvin Kamara was complete neutralized as he had eight carries for 15 yards averaging 1.9 yards-per-carry. He did prove to be an issue as a receiver though, as Cory Littleton simply couldn’t keep up with Kamara on multiple occasions. As a receiver Marshall Faulk Jersey , Kamara registered 11 receptions for 96 yards. Littleton better be ready, because his assignment doesn’t get much easier in the Superbowl against New England Patriots RB James White.DT’s Aaron Donald/Ndamukong Suh vs OG’s Andrus Peat/Larry WarfordLast week’s matchup to watch:Aaron Donald proved to be a major weapon as a run defender, forcing a fumble on a snap where the QB (I believe Taysom Hill) was late to hand it to Alvin Kamara. Not only that, but Donald registered two tackles-for-loss. Ndamukong Suh has clearly been saving his best play for the playoffs as he was once again a monster, registering four tackles, 1.5 sacks, and one tackle-for-loss. The better this duo gets together, the better the defense becomes.QB Jared Goff vs Saints’ secondaryLast week’s matchup to watch:Death Nolan Cromwell Jersey , taxes, and Jared Goff playing well against the Saints. Though his stat line wasn’t anything jaw-dropping (25/40 for 297 yards, one touchdown, one interception) he made the plays needed to put up points and get the win. In every position that was a critical possession and highly pressured, Goff absolutely excelled and stepped up to the occasion. Jared proved that no moment is too big for him, and that’s exactly why the Rams are on their way to Superbowl 53.

My top player overall, Tua can make every NFL throw. He’s got the touch, accuracy, anticipation, pocket presence….he’s incredibly fun to watch. He’s also got that ‘it’ factor; you can see that on film, it’s hard to explain. Tua is already the favorite to go number 1 overall so the expectations are crazy high for him this year. With all that said though, the 2020 NFL draft is a long ways away, we will see how the season goes for Tua and the Crimson Tide. I expect him to be a very high draft pick Larry Csonka Jersey , if not the number 1 overall. Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY SportsJustin Herbert, Oregon (Sr)I was a bit surprised when Herbert announced that he was staying for his senior season last year but I can’t criticize it, I 100% believe more experience will help improve Herbert as a player and a leader. Had he declared though, I do believe he would have pushed against Murray to be the number 1 overall pick. Herbert is a QB that literally gave me goosebumps when I watched a couple of his throws. He’s a natural thrower, with tremendous talent. He’s got fantastic touch, good accuracy, and sneaky fast. I’ve also read that Herbert is a pretty intelligent guy (dreams of becoming a doctor after football) and is a good leader off the field. Herbert has everything you look for in a franchise QB. My only knock on him would be consistency game to game, but overall Herbert is a rare talent that will most likely be a very high draft pick.Stan Szeto-USA TODAY SportsJake Fromm, Georgia (Jr)With all the attention Tua and Herbert generate, Jake Fromm has almost become an afterthought. Which truly shows how insanely talented this QB class is. Jake Fromm is right up there in my book with Tua and Herbert. He’s a clutch QB who shows up big in big moments. He also thrives under pressure (something we haven’t had in Miami for a long time). Strong arm, good touch, good decision maker, pretty good pocket presence and can make plays with his legs. He’s a true leader on the field and you can see it. Fromm could end up being the best QB in this class, the potential and talent is there. I see him being yet another high draft pick. Dale Zanine-USA TODAY SportsSam Ehlinger, Texas (Jr)Ehlinger is a fun prospect to watch. He’s in that Baker Mayfield type role - escaping pressure with his legs and making tremendous throws on the run. He’s got awesome pocket awareness, and just has that ability to make something happen when everything breaks down. Right now, I don’t have a good hold on his consistency as a thrower – something I will be monitoring a lot this upcoming season. I do think he’s got an NFL arm and I think he could develop into a really good QB.Stephen Lew-USA TODAY SportsSteven Montez, Colorado (Sr)Montez has got the size and the arm strength you look for in an NFL QB. I think he does a great job of making plays with his legs and keeps his eyes downfield looking to make a throw. I’ve seen throws that are highly accurate and has good touch but I still need to dive more into his film. I think he’s very inconsistent and raw in a couple areas. I see potential though in Montez and look forward to watching his this fall.John Hefti-USA TODAY SportsShea Patterson Dan Marino Jersey , Michigan (Sr)Patterson is a mobile QB who likes to throw deep often. I think he’s got natural arm strength and the ability to throw with touch and precision. He’s an interesting prospect though, I like the arm talent, but he’s inconsistent. I like the mobility, but I think he often panics when he feels pressure. Also, to put it simply, he did not impress me last season overall. I think Patterson has details and consistencies in his game that need to improve. I think he made a good decision returning to Michigan for this up coming season.Raj Mehta-USA TODAY SportsJacob Eason, Washington (Jr)Jacob Eason started his career at Georgia, but after an early season knee injury sidelined him, Jake Fromm took over and Eason choose to transfer to Washington. Currently, as of right now, I don’t have much film study done on him -I know he’s big (6’-6”), has big arm, good decision maker and has the ability to throw with anticipation. He could be a guy who move way up the draft boards with a good season.I look forward to studying his film.Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports Other notable QB prospectsK.J. Costello, Stanford (Jr) Nate Stanley, Iowa (Sr) Jalen Hurts, Oklahoma (Sr) Kellen Mond, Texas A&M (Jr)Feleipe Franks, Florida (Jr)McKenzie Milton Bob Griese Jersey , Central Florida (Sr) - Very fun player to watch, highly talented, major size concerns and is also recovering from a horrific knee injury.Brian Lewerke, Michigan St. (Sr) Jake Bentley, South Carolina (Sr.) FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — The New England Patriots reminded everyone why they are still the pride of the AFC East. With a 3-0 start to the season, the Miami Dolphins emerged as an early threat to the Patriots’ run of nine consecutive division titles. The Dolphins are now left to regroup after a 38-7 loss to New England on Sunday , having been denied their first 4-0 start since Hall of Fame coach Don Shula’s last season in 1995.The Patriots, meanwhile, are back to 2-2 with a short week to get ready for Thursday night’s matchup with the Indianapolis Colts. It was the first time this season that the Patriots have resembled a team capable of making a run at its third consecutive trip to the Super Bowl.“Obviously, we haven’t played well the last two weeks and we talked a lot about the things we need to do better, and we need to carry them over from week to week,” Patriots QB Tom Brady said. “Hopefully we’re a lot better in October than we were in September.”Part of the reason is, Belichick’s team clearly isn’t yet at full strength.Defensive end Trey Flowers and safety Patrick Chung returned to action after missing Week 3 with concussions. But Brady is still trying to get the most of a new-look group of receivers following key offseason departures. He made progress, tossing a 55-yard TD pass to Cordarrelle Patterson and a 9-yard TD to rapidly improving Phillip Dorsett.Still, the offense may have taken another hit on Sunday after tight end Rob Gronkowski left the game in the third quarter with a right ankle injury and didn’t return.Gronk had been questionable all week with an ankle issue. The good news for Brady is that receiver Julian Edelman is now eligible to play after being suspended for the first four games of the season for violating the NFL’s policy on performance enhancers. He can officially rejoin the team on Monday.“It will be great to have him,” Brady said. “‘We haven’t seen him in four weeks, but I know he’ll be ready. … Everyone here loves Jules and loves having him back.”There is also plenty to be excited about on defense Minkah Fitzpatrick Jersey , which held Miami to just 172 total yards and 3 of 11 on third down. New England entered the game giving up more than 400 yards of offense per game and allowing opponents to succeed on 49 percent of their third down opportunities.“We ignore the noise,” Flowers said. “When you’ve been hearing it for so long, we know we’re all we’ve got and we understand the guys in here and how hard we work. So we have confidence in how hard we work and the production that we’ll put out on the field.”After turning in his worst effort this season, Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill said he will be focused on recapturing how he started the season and not dwelling on his shortcomings in this game.“We didn’t come out and start the game like we wanted to. We didn’t convert on third down, we didn’t take care of the football, we didn’t gain yardage. We didn’t do anything we wanted to, so lot of work to do.”BOUNCING BACKThe Patriots improved to 8-0 following consecutive losses since 2002. That is also the last time the Patriots have lost more than two games in a row (lost four straight that year).MILESTONEJust moments before Gronkowski’s injury, he hauled in his fourth catch of the day, the 491st of his career. It marked a franchise record for catches by a tight end, passing Ben Coates. For the day, Gronk had four catches for 44 yards.STREAKINGLong snapper John Denney played in his 212th straight regular-season game on Sunday and is the NFL’s leader among active players for consecutive games played. He has appeared in every Dolphins game since signing with Miami as an undrafted free agent in 2005.AMENDOLA’S RETURNDolphins receiver Danny Amendola was a fan favorite during his five seasons in New England. He returned for the first time since he signed with Miami this past offseason during free agency.Amendola is being used in a role like the one with the Patriots — returning punts, in addition to his receiver duties. He finished with two catches for 21 yards against his former team.“They are a good team and we didn’t play well enough to beat them,” Amendola said.
So what now for the longtime tight end?ikings 2018 SeasonVikings 2019 OffseasonU.S. Bank StadiumMinnesota Vikings PodcastsVikings and Kyle Rudolph break off contract extension talksNew Minnesota Vikings Jerseys Stitched ,225commentsSo what now for the longtime tight end?CDTShareTweetShareShareVikings and Kyle Rudolph break off contract extension talksTim Fuller-USA TODAY SportsWhen the Minnesota Vikings headed into the offseason last December everyone knew that they would be fairly tight up against the salary cap, and they would need to either re-structure some deals with current players or release them. One of the players that many people thought the Vikings would work a new deal with was veteran tight end and Walter Payton Man of the Year finalist Kyle Rudolph. Rudolph, who is entering the last year of his contract, is scheduled to make over $7.6 million this year, with no dead money against the cap.Earlier in the off-season, it seemed like a re-structure or extension was almost a foregone conclusion. Rudolph said he was open to it, and it seemed like a logical move for both the player and the team. But as free agency drew closer...nothing happened. Then on the eve of the new league year, it was announced by Rudolph’s agent that there would be no re-structure, and he would remain with the team in 2019.Now, it appears things have taken another turn:Rudolph’s name has also been mentioned as possible trade bait, and with an inability to get a new deal done, this seems like more and more of a possibility Olisaemeka Udoh Jersey nfl draft , as alluded to by Ian Rapoport. The Vikings are less than a million dollars under the salary cap per Spotrac, and still need some wiggle room to sign their top draft pick, Garrett Bradbury. So one way or another, a move regarding Rudolph seems to be coming soon. One of the teams that Rudolph has been linked to as a possible trade partner has been the New England Patriots, who are sitting almost $15 million dollars under the salary cap. They also have an obscene 14 picks coming up in the 2020 draft, to include three third round picks, two fourth, three sixth, and four picks in the seventh round. Rudolph for a third? Yeah, I’d do that deal. Rudolph for a four and a six? Yeah, I’d probably do that deal, too. Or the Vikings could just flat out release him Super Bowl Olisaemeka Udoh Jersey , which would free up $7.6 million in cap space. If I’m the Patriots, why give up a draft pick right now if you think that could happen? Wait until they know for sure whether or not he’ll be released, and make your move when his status has been resolved. A trade will still be there once his contract status is settled, unless of course there’s another team in the mix.Still, a trade isn’t a foregone conclusion. If the Vikings decide to keep Rudolph, who I think would work well with TE Irv Smith in this new offense, they could look to re-do a couple deals of other vets to give them cap relief. Just by converting part of the base salary of either Linval Joseph or Xavier Rhodes into a signing bonus, for example, the Vikings could clear enough space to ink Bradbury. Rhodes is scheduled to make $13.3 million in base salary, while Joseph is scheduled to make $10.6 million. So another move is coming by the Vikings, be it trade or a vet re-structure. Whether it involves Kyle Rudolph remains to be seen, but it appears as if this is coming to a resolution that doesn’t involve him playing with the Vikings Garrett Bradbury Minnesota Vikings Jerseys , or at his 2019 salary...or both.Minnesota Vikings at Philadelphia Eagles: Second Quarter open thread To get things started in Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Eagles won the coin toss and elected to defer to the second half, meaning that the Minnesota Vikings got the football first. The kickoff went into the end zone for a touchback, giving Kirk Cousins and company the football at their own 25-yard line to start things off.Cousins got things started with a couple of short completions, one to David Morgan and one to Stefon Diggs, to pick up a quick first down. Cousins then launched a long pass towards Adam Thielen, and Thielen made a great diving catch for a gain of 24 into Philadelphia territory at the 39. The Vikings then got a rushing first down thanks to a Latavius Murray burst on 3rd-and-1, and Minnesota was on the move. The Vikings pushed the ball down to the Philadelphia 10-yard line, but Kirk Cousins’ pass intended for Roc Thomas was knocked down and fell incomplete. Dan Bailey came into the game for a 28-yard field goal attempt, and he. . .bounced it off of the left upright and it fell no good. The game remained scoreless and the Eagles took over at their own 20-yard line following the miss.Carson Wentz led the Eagles onto the field, but the Eagles’ offense couldn’t do much, as Linval Joseph recorded a sack of Wentz to force a three-and-out. Mike Hughes fielded the punt and got the ball to midfield Minnesota Vikings Jerseys 2019 , setting the Vikings up with outstanding field position.Cousins found Diggs for a 24-yard catch-and-run to start the drive for Minnesota, and after a short run by Mike Boone, the offense stalled out after another Cousins pass on 3rd-and-2 fell incomplete. In came Dan Bailey again to attempt another field goal, and he connected from 37 yards out to make it a 3-0 Vikings lead. The Vikings’ defense showed up big again on the second drive, as they forced another three-and-out after a nice play by Danielle Hunter and Anthony Barr. The Eagles got a nice bounce and roll on the ensuing punt, and the offense set up shop at their own 10-yard line.Minnesota did not go three-and-out, thanks to an outstanding effort from Laquon Treadwell on a third down conversion. Cousins then got taken down on a sack by Brandon Graham, and as we move to the second quarter of play, the Vikings are looking at a 3rd-and-13 from their own 17-yard line.Fifteen minutes in the books from Philadelphia, and the Minnesota Vikings hold a 3-0 lead. Come on in and join us for the second quarter of play!

The Englishwoman has spoken to the Chiefs’ Ford on the phone, and she attended an Auburn game last fall and a Chiefs game in London in 2015. The former Chiefs and Mizzou star announced his retirement last weekend and made a statement on Thursday."As we learned over the past weekend, former Kansas City Chiefs (and Missouri Tigers) wide receiver Jeremy Maclin has decided to retire from the NFL after eight seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens. On Thursday, Maclin released a farewell statement on Twitter detailing the injuries he has sustained in recent years that ultimately led to his decision to retire.Maclin said it all began in 2016.“It was my last season in Kansas City.I had huge expectations of myself coming off the two best seasons of my career.During that season Mitch Morse Jersey , I lost a childhood friend and a family member.I also tore my groin off the bone.I had the worst season of my career, then got released the following May — two weeks after my wedding — via voice mail.”In 2017 — his first season in Baltimore — the problems continued.“I thought I was mentally ready to go.I will admit that although my mental perspective got better that season, it wasn’t where it used to be.During my season in Baltimore, I played with two strained quads, battle with stingers that resulted in a ‘dead shoulder,’ and on what I thought was my last catch of the season Chris Jones Jersey , I tore my MCL.”Maclin said that instead, it turned out to be the last catch of his career.Photo by Rob Carr/Getty ImagesSince the spring of the following year — when the Ravens released him — he said he has battled additional physical problems that prevent him from moving his leg or bending over without pain.Still, Maclin said that the experience has made him a stronger person, and he is excited for the next chapter of his life. After specifically thanking Chiefs head coach Andy Reid — head coach of the Eagles when they drafted him in 2009 — for “taking a chance and drafting me,” Maclin then thanked a group of Eagles teammates and staff, and turned to his good years with the Chiefs.“To the Kansas City organization and #ChiefsKingdom Tanoh Kpassagnon Jersey , I want to say thank you!It was a dream of mine to play back in my home state of Missouri.I called it ‘my ride down I-70.’I’ll never forget the Justin Houston and [Eric Berry] pre-game speeches that got us going.I won’t forget walking out of the tunnel as a captain for our playoff game[s] in Houston and New England.I won’t forget extra workouts with Chris, Al and Reek, and their hunger to be great.I won’t forget sharing the field with the best and swaggiest tight end in the game who demanded greatness from everyone: Travis Kelce.I can keep going on and on.#ChiefsKingdom I love you, and I appreciate each and every one of you.”Maclin also specifically thanked our in-house sports medicine expert, Aaron Borgman, who was a Chiefs and Eagles trainer while Maclin were with the teams. He thanked Aaron and “every training staff member that did whatever they could to get me ready for game day.”Maclin had just one good year for the Chiefs: the 2015 season Armani Watts Jersey , in which he had 1,088 yards and eight touchdowns on 87 receptions. For his career, he finished with 6,835 yards on 514 catches and 49 touchdowns. We wish him well.

(AP) — The Miami Dolphins are off to a perfect start, which they know guarantees nothing. Before now, the most recent season where the Dolphins started 2-0 ended up with them missing the playoffs. And the last time they started 0-2, they actually went to the postseason. So starting with two wins — one of only seven NFL teams to do that this season Womens Bob Griese Jersey , plus sitting alone atop the AFC East for good measure — obviously beats any alternative fate at this point in the season, though Dolphins coach Adam Gase wasn’t exactly spending time figuring out how to distribute playoff tickets on Monday.“I’ve been 6-0 and not made the playoffs,” Gase said. “It doesn’t matter.”Gase was an assistant coach with the 2009 Denver Broncos, who rolled into their bye week 6-0, winning by an average of 11.1 points per game. They came back from the bye and lost eight of their final 10 games.Lesson learned. The Dolphins were last 2-0 in 2013, actually winning their first three that year before sputtering to an 8-8 finish. Gase’s first season in Miami was 2016, those Dolphins started 0-2 and 1-4, and made the playoffs regardless.“You’ve got to play every week, you’ve got to reset it every week, you’ve got to work to get better, try not to be a team that’s up and down, try to be consistent Adam Joseph Duhe Jersey ,” Gase said. “You’re going to lose games in this league. That’s why there’s only been one undefeated team that’s ever won it all and another undefeated team didn’t win the last game — so nobody really cares.”To be clear, he wasn’t drawing any parallel to the 1972 perfect Dolphins or the 2007 New England Patriots team that went 16-0 in the regular season and wound up losing the Super Bowl to the New York Giants.Gase knows this team has to get better, with much to clean up before playing host to the Oakland Raiders (0-2) on Sunday. And although he insi1sts that what’s said outside the Dolphins’ facility doesn’t matter, some players are finding a bit of satisfaction knowing that Miami might already been exceeding the gloom-and-doom expectations they heard about coming into the year.“Yeah, we’re proving some guys wrong,” Dolphins receiver Jakeem Grant said. “But at the end of the day, we’re playing for each other. We’re here, we have a higher standard and we feel like we have to be devoted to those standards — push, push, push in every practice. Great practices lead to great games. Some people saying we’ll have a negative record, it’s motivating, like http://www.thedolphinslockerroom.com/authentic-minkah-fitzpatrick-jersey , ‘OK, we’ll see.'”It’s the second time that all three of Florida’s NFL teams — Miami, Jacksonville and Tampa Bay — have all started 2-0. The other was in 1997.Gase shrugged off any talk of how the Dolphins are ahead of division rivals New England, Buffalo and the New York Jets — the team Miami beat 20-12 on Sunday. He raved about quarterback Ryan Tannehill’s accuracy through two games, the third-and-19 catch by running back Frank Gore that sealed Sunday’s win, or the multi-layered effort that the Dolphins’ defense made to keep the Jets out of the end zone on the final play of the first half.To him, that’s what matters.Hearing about having a one-game lead in the AFC East with 14 left to play only was worthy of an eye roll.“If you ask half these guys, they probably don’t even know,” Gase said. “They don’t care. I mean, it doesn’t mean anything. The division stuff right now is so irrelevant. … No one cares what you’re doing right now. When it’s December and it’s really coming down to the end, half the time you don’t even care then. You’re just playing games and trying to win them all.”
rom behind while winning their first eight games this season David Edwards Los Angeles Rams Jerseys , but going to 9-0 would require a major comeback. They’ve done a lot of the work to make that happen. The Rams went down 35-14 with under a minute left in the first half, but they’ve scored 21 straight points and the score is tied at 35 with just under 10 minutes left to play.Cooper Kupp took a Jared Goff pass 41 yards down the sideline for a touchdown and tight end Gerald Everett scored on a two-point conversion to erase the final vestiges of the New Orleans lead. The Rams also scored on two Greg Zuerlein field goals and an 18-yard catch by Malcolm Brown that saw the running back do a marvelous job of body control while along the sideline. The Saints have punted on both of their second half possessions after scoring five touchdowns in the first half and the change in fortunes has us set for an exciting finish in the Superdome. CDTShareTweetShareShareWhile fans want offensive line help, the Los Angeles Rams could pull off surprise pickKirby Lee-USA TODAY SportsIn the first-round of the 2019 NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders defied expectations and reached for the player that they wanted: Clemson Tigers EDGE Clelin Ferrell. Was it the smart pick? Probably not. They likely could have traded back to get the same player ten picks later. However, the heart wants what it wants. The Los Angeles Rams did in fact trade with the Atlanta Falcons to get out of the first-round in order to acquire a second-round (45th) and another third-round selection (79th). This signals that the organization doesn’t have one player that they’re in love with. If the Rams truly wanted Los Angeles Rams Jerseys 2019 , let’s say, Texas A&M Aggies C Erik McCoy, they could have gotten him with the 31st pick. Or, some would argue, they are confident that he’ll still be around at 45 Infant David Edwards Jersey , or maybe even Florida Gators OT Jawaan Taylor could be available. I’m not so sure about this plan. Seems to me that GM Les Snead operates on his own weird, beach-bum rhythm and that means that just like the 2017 NFL Draft, the Rams could be selecting a player like TE Gerald Everett that may seem out of left field. No, I’m not saying the Rams are going to select a tight end, but they may have their eyes on a prospect that could be considered a... curious pick. That’s what is fun and frustrating about the draft. Fans can spend hours combing the draft boards in an effort to find the best fit for the Rams and 90% of the time David Edwards Jersey nfl draft , the team goes in a different direction. And the Rams have the lucky trend on their side — a run on pass catchers. So, yeah... I really want the Rams to pick Erik McCoy because it makes sense for the team. Chances are, he won’t be available. And even if he is, the Rams will make a pick that will force fans to Google a name that they have never heard before. The Rams have had good luck in the third-round as of late, grabbing talent like S John Johnson III and WR Cooper Kupp. So Tyler Higbee Jersey , in Snead we trust. Sure, let’s go with that.
ase Ifeadi Odenigbo We’ve gotten word of another cut along the defensive line for the Minnesota Vikings Marcus Sherels Jersey , and it’s a player that many. . .myself included. . .thought had done enough to make his way onto the 53-man roster. The Minnesota Vikings will be releasing defensive end Ifeadi Odenigbo, per. . .ummm. . .defensive end Ifeadi Odenigbo.Odenigbo was a seventh-round pick of the Vikings in 2017, and spent last season on the practice squad. He spent time this preseason at both defensive end and defensive tackle, and frankly I thought he had shown well enough to get himself a spot on a very deep defensive line. There hasn’t been any indication one way or another about whether the Vikings would be interested in bringing Odenigbo back to the practice squad Xavier Rhodes Jersey , but we’ll see what happens when the smoke clears after all the cuts are done and the practice squads are put together. We’re getting ever close to the 53-man roster deadline, folks. Are there any more surprises in store? If there are, we’ll have them here for you!Vikings Roster Cuts: Minnesota Vikings release Garret Dooley It appears that the Minnesota Vikings have made the final cut to their linebacking corps en route to getting their roster down to 53 players.Per numerous sources, the Vikings have parted ways with linebacker Garret Dooley.Dooley was undrafted out of the University of Wisconsin Mike Remmers Jersey , and signed with the Vikings in the post-draft signing frenzy. It was going to be an uphill battle for him to make the 53-man roster, but there’s a chance that he could be a practice squad candidate. With that, it appears that the Vikings are done trimming the linebacker corps. The fifth linebacker spot now belongs to seventh-round pick Devante Downs, who will join Anthony Barr Riley Reiff Jersey , Eric Kendricks, Ben Gedeon, and Eric Wilson in the Vikings’ linebacker room. We’ve still got plenty to report for you as we get closer to the roster deadline in about two hours. EAGAN Kyle Rudolph Jersey , Minn. (AP) —innesota was a letdown for a Vikings‘ team full of Super Bowl aspirations, mainly because the offense underwhelmed and couldn’t support another top-five defense.Minnesota general manager Rick Spielman set out to help Cousins — the $84 million franchise quarterback — and the offense in this year’s draft, continuing an offensive-heavy approach as Day 3 wrapped up on Saturday. After taking first-round center Garrett Bradbury, second-round tight end Irv Smith and third-round running back Alexander Mattison, the Vikings started the final day by drafting Oklahoma offensive lineman Dru Samia in the fourth round after trading up to the 114th pick with Seattle.“Offense was kind of a point of emphasis Linval Joseph Jersey , and we were never going to pass up a defensive guy if he’s sticking that high on our board, and one of those guys would have fell,” Spielman said after the draft.“We were never going to not take the best player. But as we went down through the draft, I thought it fell very well for us on the players that we did get on the offensive side.”It’s the first time Minnesota has used its first four picks in a draft on offense since 1965. In all, the Vikings used seven of their 12 selections to address the offensive side.Minnesota finished 20th in yards and 19th in points last season. Meanwhile Kirk Cousins Jersey , it was 30th in the league in rushing despite the presence of Dalvin Cook.“We need to run the ball,” Spielman said. “We need to be better on offense, and that’s where we needed the help. … we don’t have a lot of defensive needs from a starter position.”Remaking the line was a necessity and the Vikings should have two new starters. Bradbury could figure in at center and Samia will join the competition at guard where free-agent signee Josh Kline is considered to be the lead option at right guard.“He was an unbelievable interview at the combine, maybe one of the toughest competitors we’ve seen on tape on how he finishes,” Spielman said of Samia. “He fits the zone scheme very well. He has a few technical flaws to clean up Adrian Peterson Jersey , but we think that is correctable with coaching.”WHO THEY GOTAfter trading up for Samia in the fourth round, Spielman still had a slew of later picks after a series of trades. Minnesota traded down four times in the third round on Friday and had seven picks in the final two rounds. The 12 selections were the most for the organization since the seven-round draft format began in 1994. Linebacker Cameron Smith from USC was the first defensive pick for Minnesota at No. 162 in the fifth round.Arkansas defensive tackle Armon Watts was selected 190th overall, starting a span of three picks in four spots in the sixth round for Minnesota. Wyoming safety Marcus Epps and Elon offensive tackle Olisaemeka Udoh followed. The seventh round brought Texas cornerback Kris Boyd, Oregon receiver Dillon Mitchell, Colorado State receiver Olabisi Johnson and Air Force long snapper Austin Cutting.LIKE A FINE WINESmith comes to Minnesota after leading USC in tackles for three straight seasons John Randle Jersey , the first Trojans linebacker to do so since Dennis Johnson from 1977-79. But it’s his off-field interest that really makes Smith unique. The 6-foot-2, 250-pound linebacker has an interest in winemaking and interned at the Melville Winery in California in 2017. He said he appreciates the science of winemaking and is fascinated by the agriculture and farming aspect.“I still feel like most people look at me like I am going to be a big body heavy cabernet,” Smith said of his preferences. “I just like the lighter, prettier looking pinot noirs that taste really good to me. That whole cluster that adds just a little more veggie to it that I think tastes great. It’s something that it’s always important to have a life outside of football and be ready for whatever happens.”HOW THEY DIDMinnesota paid attention to its offensive needs, particularly along the line. The biggest remaining needs are depth at cornerback Alan Page Jersey , receiver and defensive line.WHAT’S NEXT?Perhaps the biggest lingering question is at tight end, where longtime standout Kyle Rudolph is a $7.625 million cap hit for a team close to the salary cap and Minnesota added Smith.Boyd was the only cornerback drafted in a spot where Minnesota has last year’s first-round pick, Mike Hughes, still rehabbing from knee surgery and Holton Hill suspended for the first four games. Two seventh-round receivers likely won’t be ready to step in where former first-rounder Laquon Treadwell has been a disappointment.

Oakland RaidersNew,2commentsHere’s what the trio had to say at the break.CDTLos Angeles Rams QB Blake Bortles(On his first game as a member of the Los Angeles Rams)“It’s been awesome. To get back on the field and get playing, put on a game uniform with these guys. You get to come out here and compete against another team is something we’ve been looking forward to for a couple weeks now. It’s good to get out there and get some plays in. Obviously, we have to clean some stuff up, but it was a good start.”(On operating Head Coach Sean McVay’s system for the first time in game action)“It was great. Obviously Cory Littleton Jersey , you’re not going to do some of the stuff you’re going to do in the regular season in the preseason. But, to get some of our bread and butter stuff going and rep it and get some good plays on tape and some plays to coach off of as well is always good.”(On his relationships with WR KhaDarel Hodge and WR Michael Thomas)“Both of those guys are incredible. Getting to work with those guys over the past couple weeks and in OTAs and in the summer - they’re awesome. They’re two really good receivers, so I feel lucky to be able to throw the ball to them.”WR Mike Thomas(On how it feels being back on the field for the first time in 2019)“It felt great to be back out here with the guys. I’m feeling fresh and healthy. To be able to run around again and run some great routes out here on the field.”(On what he has seen from QB Blake Bortles so far)“He’s been doing a tremendous job throughout the camp. I always come up and ask him, ‘How does he want that route? How does he want that route ran?’ I just like to talk to him and just get his feedback on how he like his routes ran. He asked me what I liked about his throwing. We just got a good chemistry going and we just have perfect timing at this point.”S Marqui Christian(On getting on the field in game action for the first time this season)“It felt really good. We had a couple joint practices before this. It’s always fun to get out there.”(On going into his third year under this defensive system)“I feel comfortable. (Defensive Coordinator) Coach Wade (Phillips) has always been really great at putting guys in position to make plays. Being here for my third year now, just being more familiar with the playbook, I feel comfortable with wherever they put me – box Nickell Robey-Coleman Jersey , deep, covering tight ends or whatever it may be.” With the draft over, it’s time to hit the middle stage of the offseason program"WhiteSections 2019 offseason2019 free agency2019 NFL DraftFull ArchiveLibrary 2019 NFL calendar2019 Rams regular season sched2019 Rams preseason schedMasthead Community Guidelines NFL Odds StubHub ✕2019 Los Angeles Rams OffseasonPhase II of the 2019 Los Angeles Rams’ offseason beginsNew,1commentWith the draft over, it’s time to hit the middle stage of the offseason programCDTShareTweetShareSharePhase II of the 2019 Los Angeles Rams’ offseason beginsLos Angeles Rams LT Andrew Whitworth during organized team activities, Jun. 4 Andrew Whitworth Jersey , 2018.Kirby Lee-USA TODAY SportsTimeline marker for your Los Angeles Rams today, folks. With the 2019 NFL Draft now over, we’re now fully into the offseason. rank Clark was a huge move for the Chiefs Chad Henne Jersey , and also the latest in what has been a complete overhaul of their defense. They ranked 31st in the league in yards allowed last year, and 24th in points allowed, so it’s reasonable to see why they decided to shuffle the deck. But this turned into 52-card pickup in a hurry. They fired former defensive coordinator Bob Sutton shortly after their season ended, and replaced him with Steve Spagnuolo — which brings a shift from a 3-4 base to a 4-3.That was just the beginning, as they overturned much of the defensive personnel, at least the part you’d recognize. They franchise-tagged outside linebacker Dee Ford, then traded him to the 49ers for a second-round pick. They followed by releasing outside linebacker Justin Houston, and safety Eric Berry flushing three of the team’s most productive players in less than a week. They went on a spree in free agency, signing safety Tyrann Mathieu, cornerback Bashaud Breeland, defensive end Alex Okafor, and linebacker Damien Wilson, and then traded for Browns defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah. They’re now without a first-rounder, but they still have two second-round picks (61st and 63rd overall) and a third (84th, after swapping spots with Seattle in the Clark deal). There’s also the small matter of signing Clark to a huge contract extension to complete the deal. It’s an aggressive set of moves Kendall Fuller Jersey , for a team that clearly identified a problem and dealt with it before they have to start paying stars on the other side of the ball. As of this writing, Kansas City Chiefs starting center Mitch Morse is still in the concussion protocol. His backup, Jordan Devey, was placed on injured reserve earlier this week with a torn pectoralis major. That leaves the Chiefs with a vacancy at the starting center position as the team prepares to face the Denver Broncos this Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium. It certainly isn’t the best week for offensive line injuries with six-time All-Pro linebacker Von Miller coming to town.Asked about the position on Wednesday, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid was not ready to name a starter.“Brett (Veach) has done a good job of bringing guys in,” Reid said. “Austin (Reiter) is here and he has experience, so he can step in if needed, and Jeff Allen can play if needed. Andy (Heck) does a great job of rotating those guys during practice, now and OTAs, and then during training camp. Everyone can kind of work into all the positions. We don’t get concerned about that, we just try to move forward. If you can go then you can go, if you can’t you can’t, and we move on.”Tim Fuller-USA TODAY SportsReiter, who played center in college, signed on with the Chiefs in early September. He started one game at center for the Cleveland Browns back in 2016. Allen offers the versatility to play center but has never started there in 62 career NFL starts Eric Murray Jersey , according to Pro Football Reference. Offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy offered little clarity when asked on Thursday morning.“We’re just working through the process,” Bieniemy said. “Like I’ve said, we’ve rolled a number of guys there. Hell, you may even see me play center. Coach (Andy) Heck has done a good job with those guys. He’s coached them all up, so whoever’s up, that guy will be ready to play.”Denny Medley-USA TODAY SportsThe first of two unmentioned candidates to fill in at center are Cameron Erving, who did so for the Chiefs while Morse was out due to a foot injury this offseason. He also started 12 games at center for the Cleveland Browns back in 2016. Erving has been the Chiefs’ starting left guard every game this season. The second unmentioned candidate is Jimmy Murray, who was promoted to the 53-man roster from the practice squad on Tuesday with Devey heading to injured reserve. Murray is a 6-foot-5, 305-pound undrafted free agent who played center at Holy Cross.“He’s been working real hard all the way through training camp,” offensive line coach Andy Heck said of Murray. “He’s a smart guy, he’s athletic, and he works hard, so we love that. He’s got his nose to the grindstone. Again, in my opinion, you can’t have enough people on your roster that can snap the football. He’s one of those guys that can do that Terrance Smith Jersey , and he’s been working really well. I think we got a good one there.”MY PREDICTION: Reid often preaches starting the five best players along the offensive line, and my best guess would be that he leans on experience in this case. Erving has worked with Mahomes and has played the most NFL games at the position, so I bet he slides over from left guard. Andrew Wylie either stays at right guard, where he started last game, or slides over to left guard, where he worked out in camp. In either vacant guard spot—whether it be left or right, that’s where I see Allen coming in.My best prediction at the starters, Sunday? Eric Fisher, Andrew Wylie, Cameron Erving, Jeff Allen, Mitch Schwartz (L-R)
